Summary
Astarion Ancunín met the love of his life at 8 years old. She was a pretty Tiefling girl named Stella with a talent for illusion magic. He was born a noble and the son of a magistrate, while she was raised by the Under City’s Guild as a rogue. This coming-of-age story describes their sweet romance as they support each other through Astarion’s parents’ loveless marriage and Stella’s relationship with her devil-touched blood. As adults, the pair make a skilled double rogue team. However, their love ends too soon when Astarion gets taken by Cazador and turned into a vampire spawn. Thanks to the Wish spell, Stella reunites with Astarion almost 200 years in the future on the Nautiloid.
The pair joins a party of other tadpoled survivors, and they grow fond of their new companions. Stella befriends the Tiefling refugees, and the party fights alongside and travels with them to Baldur's Gate. The star-crossed lovers grow even closer as they heal alongside each other. Astarion finds a sense of freedom as he returns home literally and spiritually. Stella honors her inner child as she grieves what she's lost. Together, they embrace their second chance at love while taking down the Absolute.
