"Runaan calm yourself," Raina said, the old elf not putting up with Runaan's outburst, "The pain is expected for Ethari given his condition."
"Condition?" Runaan said.
"You're husband is not ill, Runaan. Ethari is merely in labor."

“Even I misjudged your eagerness to walk a new path.” Queen Aditi again looked down at Kim’dael, kneeling in the throne room again. She was poised and regal while Kim’dael bowed on the floor, just as before, as if a couple weeks hadn’t already passed. “Back so soon? Perhaps you’d like matching accessories.”
Kim’dael wanted to slap the smirk off of Queen Aditi’s face. The guards and every person on the street had stared at the chain around her neck. Some let their eyes slide subtlety off; others outright gawked. The guise of humble shame had become true shame, and she was going to wield it like a weapon. “I bear your mark, Your Majesty, yet your guards still eye me with suspicion.” She batted her eyelashes. “Didn't they get the memo? I’m yours.”
