At the age of fourteen, Yoonchae secretly fell in love with her older sister's best friend.
She had a somewhat aloof and languid demeanour, spoke in a careless manner, and often came to their house, spending entire afternoons in Sophia's room playing video games.
Occasionally, when she brought in fruit and snacks for them, she would casually lift her eyes and smile mischievously, saying, "Kid, what's the matter with you? You blush every time you see me."

Summary
Sometimes, she looks up and the light blinds her eyes, tricks her, for just a second, into thinking she is back in Honolulu, her brother smirking back at her.
She blinks, and it’s Yoonchae, standing there, smirking, her shadow cast over Megan’s face as she clears her eyes from the glare. Megan has never once been taller than her brother in her whole life. She was taller than Yoonchae, though, when they first met, but now Yoonchae stands just slightly taller than her, shoulders pressed together during interviews, and the whiplash Megan gets from having to raise her eyes just that little bit up to meet Yoonchae’s shouldn’t be as shocking as it is. The difference between five feet and six inches and five feet and seven. One inch is really all it is. But then again, maybe Yoonchae will keep growing, and she will gain another inch on Megan, who can’t quite grow as quickly as Yoonchae, the girl who moved all the way from across the ocean to a country where she couldn’t even speak full sentences yet, to who she is now, a member of Katseye, whose English seems to be even better than Megan’s own, sometimes. The difference is only two inches. The difference is only two years. It shouldn’t feel as big as it is.

“The lamp?” Yoonchae asked, staring at it intensely. “What's wrong with the lamp, Manon?” Nothing seemed out of the ordinary about it. Sophia barked out a laugh at that and Yoonchae scowled at her. “What?”
“It’s a meme from Reddit.” Lara explained grabbing her phone to pull up what Manon was referencing, leading to some horror story of a man who realizes his entire life is just a dream in his comatose state when he's the only one to notice the lamp looking strange. “It's old, but it's popular, you know it, right Megan?”
Megan, if Yoonchae could even call her that, looked up from her phone and shook her head.
“Nope.” She replied, grinning when Dani made a comment about her being so chronically online. “You know all I do is play roblox with my Yoonchip.” She countered, sliding her hands around said girl, pulling her into a hug and smiling.
Yoonchae held back a flinch and made herself look at ‘Megan’. Perhaps, if she stared long enough while knowing something was wrong, she'd wake up from whatever nightmare this was and her Megan would return. Safe, sound, and not dead being used as a skinsuit.
