Summary
Sherlock takes a remarkably early retirement at 47, and convinces John that a change of pace would do them both good. They buy an old cottage on the South Downs, and exchange their nonstop life in Baker Street for quiet contemplation, bee studies, and book writing.
They might go completely insane, but sometimes it takes stepping outside of the life you're living to find the life you want.
Sherlock takes one last look out to the horizon, mouth downturned and brow furrowed, before seeming to shake himself and catching up to John with a few long-legged strides. John turns back toward the path cut into the cliffs, climbing steadily toward the rolling downs already green and lush in the weak April warmth.
They reach the top and Sherlock strikes toward the west, back to where their hired Land Rover sits a mile away in a public carpark. John falls into step beside him and takes a deep breath.
“I expected a case,” he starts. “A bit chilly for a walk, really, so. D’you mind telling me what we’re doing out here?”
Sherlock doesn’t even pause, simply tucks his head down against the wind and continues walking.“I’m retiring,” he says simply.

Summary
The mother was apparently poisoned, the son seems to have killed himself playing Russian roulette. It's a murder and a suicide. Or is it a suicide and a murder?
At least the case is distracting John from the fact that sex with Sherlock was probably a mistake right from the start.
John will learn to cope, one way or another.

One of the most amazing friends to lovers stories I've read in the fandom. Not only is John actually straight and struggling, but we get Sherlock's side as well. The juxtaposition between those two, the misunderstandings... and somehow they still end up on the same page somehow, even if they draw the wrong conclusions. The case is excellent as well. There's humour... omg. In short, this is a must-read in this fandom.

Mysterious city of sin and intrigue! Sherlock and John meet again in Casablanca.
‘He plays that bloody song all the time,’ John said with a half-choked laugh, pulling a pack of cigarettes out of the inside pocket of his jacket. He extracted two and lit the both of them, handing one to Sherlock without looking at him.
Crossover with Casablanca (1942).

Summary
Written for Merlinlefay, who won me in the FuckYeahJohnLockFanfic 10,000 Followers Giveaway. Her prompt was: "I’ve been listening to Christmas songs a lot lately and Wham’s “Last Christmas” comes to mind. I’m a sucker for angst, but I’d appreciate a happy ending, if possible!” Well, it may not be as angsty as you like, but trust me, I nailed the happy ending. Merry Christmas!
That Earth-shaking revelation, then, leads to a problem, and one that Sherlock realizes should be solved quickly, before John’s dates turn into girlfriends or boyfriends, because sometimes girlfriends or boyfriends can turn into wives or husbands while your back is turned. Every time John hums happily at the mirror as he shaves, splashes on a little gift cologne Mrs. Hudson bought him for Christmas, Sherlock is drawn back to that night by the fire, and the way John’s touch had made the world stand still.

There's ton of Reichenbach stories out there and many of them excellent, but still this one stands out. The writing is excellent, the characters feel spot one, but that's not the only thing. It deals with many different issues at once, like Sherlock having to kill, John's wife dying, Sherlock's first sexual relationship, etc. There actually is bad sex and it's still hot! For those worried, it does end happily after all the angst and miscommunication. I highly recommend this.

Summary
Sherlock Holmes has long been fascinated with (and haunted by) the tragic story of his namesake cousin. When his nightmares about it grow unbearable and he starts seeing hypnotherapist Jim Moriarty, however, Sherlock begins to wonder whether he himself is his cousin's reincarnation. Have Sherlock and the modern John Watson known each other before this life? Can Sherlock solve a nineteenth-century murder and prove the historic Dr. Watson innocent, and also solve the current string of oddly-posed unidentified corpses?

Bookmarker's Notes
Now this story is about reincarnation, which might not be your cup of tea, but if I've learned one thing about Sherlock fandom is that the writers here can make everything your cup of tea. The story starts a bit slow but starts building up to an amazing finale that will leave you satisfied and your mind occupied trying to unravel all the details that were right there in front of your eyes. I love it when puzzle pieces fall together at the end.
It's also a loving observation of ACD Holmes and if you have not read it yet, this will make you read it :)
So if you need something to keep you occupied for a few days and leave you with a "good story high" then go and read this, you won't be sorry!

Sometimes, the greatest sadness comes not from falling or dying. Sometimes it comes simply from drifting apart.
