Excerpt: "The hiss of the shuttle door wakes Bones up again. As his mind whirs back to consciousness he is aware of the numb feeling in his ass from sitting on the floor and the warm fevered weight of Spock who’s resting against him where he’d eventually settled in between the doctor’s legs.
There’s the sound of boots on the metal floor and then his captain is standing before him. He bends down to catch Bones’s face in between two calloused and warm hands.
“I’ve got it.” Jim says. His voice is frayed. There are dark circles underneath his eyes and that usually perfect coiffed golden-brown hair is tossed all over his head.
Bones presses his eyes shut and the stress of the last few hours (days?) is suddenly taking him for all he’s worth.
“You’ve got it.” He repeats. Instead of answering, Jim presses his lips to his forehead; it’s so goddamned comforting.
