Summary
It's been years since Gaylen's Core shattered, years since magic was returned to the human race and bardic magic rediscovered. Now gifted with a long life and the scales of mundane and arcane have balanced, our heroes now live a life of peace, occasionally taking out threats when needed.
Yet the stars do as they like and life should always have it's ups and downs. Our heroes find themselves in a world where magic has all but died, everywhere but the North, will they survive the game they've been put into by playing it or will they brute force their way through?
This is highly self indulgent just because the Children of the Forest remind me too much of Nari and Joffrey getting smacked around by Divine King Jim seemed really funny. And imagine everyone's reaction when Aja turns out to be a really good swordswoman. Also, magic, really powerful magic. Yes, the ToA characters are based off Sakon76's 'Your Future Hasn't Been Written Yet' characterisation and this occurs like a few years after the whole Gaylen's core thing.
First fanfic and story I've written beyond a poem.
