Summary
The year is 1998. Australia is fucked to hell and back, but its neighbour New Zealand is doing surprisingly alright. Well, if it wasn't for the supply shortages, persistent earthquakes, and the government's increasing heavy handed attempts at censorship.
Cody, a presenter at Radio Hauraki, is particularly pissed about that last thing. And he knows just what to do about it, too — all they need is a boat. Radio Hauraki started life as pirate radio back in the sixties, what's stopping them from going back on the waves?
Also, if his coworker, Obi-Wan, could stop making his life a living hell that'd be great, but Cody is pretty sure the world will end for real before that happens.

Cody spat out abruptly but weakly, pressing a hand over his armored chest, where the scorch of the blaster bolt had burned through. “Kark that.”
_________Or Obi-Wan is dying, and Cody, mortally wounded too, sees no point in going on or leaving behind the man he has loved since the war began.

Summary
This is my attempt at a modern AU. Except I kept all the aliens because they're the coolest bit.
It's a WIP I've had for a while, but I stopped working on it to focus on CFICF. However, you may have noticed I hit a bit of a wall with that, so I'm hoping that posting some of my other stuff will help reignite my fire.
In this, Quinlan comes from the foster system and Fox is estranged from his bio family. He's been pretty much adopted into Quin's family at this point. They both work for the police. The story starts when Quinlan get's a call from the hospital; an old girlfriend has given birth and named him the father, leaving the baby at the hospital. This triggers a series of events that bring Fox back into contact with his bio family, who he is not as distant from as he might like to think. If you think you will find any of this triggering, please do not read this. It's not as soft and fluffy as 'Fox and Quin raise a kid together' might sound.
There will be no regular update schedule for this fic.
