Summary
Ted sees Rebecca across the street and agrees to be married to her.
There is more to it than that, but in a way that doesn't make it make more sense, but in a way that Ted gets to kiss a beautiful woman and they get food after. But there is more to it, so maybe we should back up a bit.

Summary
Ted has some pizza with peanut butter on it. He also rekindles a friendship, falls in love, and learns that maybe you can embrace things that make you sad even if it still hurts while also making you a little happy.
All in all, it's very impressive considering it all starts with him genuinely eating pizza with peanut butter on it.

Summary
"I beg your pardon?" Edwin's voice rose an octave. He could understand not having made any promises and everything else. But since when had he ever ruined anything? "I don't recall ever leaving Port Townsend with anything other than a heart-to-heart and friendly conversation between us, Cat King."
And the Cat King still felt the alcohol intoxicating his mind and the pain in his abdomen and the ache in his heart because Edwin was right there and all he wanted was the strength to get up and jump into his arms, but he couldn't and it was frustrating.
And it was frustrating that he was doomed to love alone forever because what he felt could not be extinguished or died, it did not drain from his system like alcohol, which soon turns into a hangover and then just a nagging headache before disappearing.
And it was too frustrating for Thomas to remain silent.
"I was on a date,"
OR
Thomas was caught in a bad situation with his own heart and did some shit to try coaxing it away, it did not go well.
A few shots of bad booze, a storm and a lady with a cleaver seemed to do the trick tho.

Summary
“You owe me, remember? I’m cashing in,” Monty said.
Edwin grimaced. “I don’t believe I agreed to such a preposterous request in return for—”
“You pretend to be my boyfriend until after the Halloween Jamboree and I won’t tell Charles about what happened with Esther first year,” Monty said, staring him down with the most seriousness Edwin had ever seen upon his countenance. “Deal?”
Or: In return for an old favor, Edwin agrees to pretend to date Monty until Halloween. Which is totally fine and not a big deal except for how it seems to be not fine and a very big deal to just about everyone he’s ever met.

Summary
"Why haven't you found a place to stay?" Monty asks.
“Oh, I’m just gonna sleep here overnight,” Charles says, nothing but unflagging optimism, as if it isn’t Christmas Eve and he’s in an airport half a world away from home. “Doesn’t seem like much work. I've slept in worse places, and if the plane gets postponed to tomorrow, then I'll already be here. Easy as that, innit?"
Something in Monty’s chest crunches for Charles. Charles Rowland, the source of sunlight in the middle of the wintry dark, doesn't deserve to get stuck on a hard airport chair on one of the coldest nights of the year.
And so, without even thinking it through, Monty says: “Y’know, we can likely get a pullaway bed in our hotel room.”
Charles’ jaw drops as Edwin’s eyebrow shoots to the ceiling. “You don’t even know me.”
And Charles does have a point there. Of course he does. He is very much a stranger to both Monty and Edwin.
But no one deserves to spend the holiday alone.
(When a snow delay hits on Christmas Eve, pilot Monty ends up in a hotel room with the fight attendant that he's had a crush on for years and the hot, lonely passenger with nowhere else to go. Maybe they might just have a holiday miracle.)
