"I'd like to get you back to work as well, crime didn't take a vacation while you were away," Fowler says. Gavin frowns, sensing a qualifier there. "But since what happened to you was unprecedented, we're going to be playing it safe and moving you off of homicide, and on to larceny and robberies and partnering you with Officer Miller," Fowler already has his hands up, silencing Gavin's protests. "I would love to put you back on homicide– I need you on homicide, but you need time," Fowler said. Gavin wanted to yell at him. He's been adjusting for a month now. He can look at himself in the mirror and not want to punch it.
"I'm not getting out of this, am I?" Gavin asks rhetorically.
