“Perhaps another time?” Phainon laughs easily, placing himself at Mydei’s side and smoothly extracting him from the woman’s grip. He places his hand on Mydei’s nape in a friendly manner, tugging lightly on his hair. “We have some important business to attend to right now. Sorry to take Mydei here away from you, I’m sure he was having the time of his life.”

Aglaea's expression shifted, something like recognition passing across her face. "Every word in a medieval text must be too, I imagine. One misplaced thread ruins the entire garment. One mistranslation ruins the meaning."

While out on patrol, Mydei and Phainon get hit with a curse that binds their hands together.
