Summary
Sometimes, the most thoughtful presents come from strangers. Something you needed, but never said. Or maybe something you never knew you needed.
Sometimes those presents are from stalker ANBU that insist on trailing you to keep you safe from all the rocks and leaves lining up to attack you.
Maybe those strangers go from being strangers, to acquaintances, to friends, to the most important people in your life. And to think it all started with a simple present.
Just a lil something I whipped up for Naruto’s birthday!

Summary
When Kakashi sees Naruto, he doesn't just see his former sensei.
He sees the years of history between them, the times they've been apart and the times they've been together. He sees the comfort Naruto has offered him time and time again, as well as the knowledge that said comfort goes both ways. He sees keychains and his father's tanto and breakdowns painted in front of red sunsets.
Most of all, when Kakashi sees Naruto, he sees the man he's in love with.
