Summary
It was hard to get a breath of fresh air when his mother had filled his lungs with second hand smoke: even harder when the other children were just as young, rambunctious, and impressionable as he was. Still, at least Catherine had the decency to puff laughter and sometimes even love… in the moments she was lucid. Sheila didn't even have the decency to seem at least a little regretful of her failings; both were a little more than kin, and less than kind.
