“So what have you been up to this weekend?”
“Family picnic,” Peter says.
“Oh, great, great fun,” Tony says and swipes away from the article about Spider-Man wrestling a giant spider on the roof of the Chrysler building.
It’s quite obvious that Tony knows he is Spider-Man, but decided not to acknowledge it; decided to keep the secret going. For what reason, Peter doesn’t know. Maybe Tony thinks he can use the information in his favor, or maybe he just doesn’t want Peter to freak out. Either way, it serves Peter just fine, because Tony tries so hard to keep up his oblivious act that he never prods too hard or looks too deep.

“Tony,” Peter’s voice says, over the coms.
Tony’s heart jolts. “Speak of the—think of the devil, more like—hey kid, meet up with me, I don’t like you running around here alone during all this.”
“I, uh—I’m on the third floor, in the red lab, uh, the back storage room. Back right corner.”
Tony narrows his eyes, and picks up the pace. “Alright, you okay? You find something?”
“Uh. It’s worse than we think,” he says, and Tony can hear his voice shaking.
Tony starts running. “Why?” he asks, his heart slamming against his chest. “What’s wrong? What’s going on?”

Peter literally smacks him in the face a couple times, albeit gently, and he’s looking at him in wonder, like he’s never seen him before. His eyes are shining, despite his injuries. Tony grabs his hand and holds it against his own chest.
“Oh man,” Peter says, looking down at his hand in Tony’s own. “That’s mine.”
“Your hand—” Tony says, shaking his head.
“Since birth,” Peter says, staring.
“Uh, okay,” Tony scoffs, trying to understand what’s happening here. “Let’s get you—shit, out of this glass, away from this—open window you made.”

Summary
“Get the hell outta here, boy,” the man says. “Or you’re gonna watch your boss die in front of you.” Then he grabs Tony by the shoulders hard, and shoves him down to his knees. The gun is louder now, like it’s filled with words that are eager to be shouted, and Tony winces when he feels the barrel press against the back of his neck. His knees weren’t ready to hit the ground that hard, and he tries to keep the pain from reaching his face.
He must fail, because Peter looks pissed.
“You’re not gonna shoot him, mister,” Peter says, somehow still trying to maintain a respectful tone, despite the clear anger written all over him.

Summary
“Shit shit shit.” Tony severely underestimated this guy, if this is on him, because Tony has a backup plan for every backup plan in his suit, has protocols for every misstep, every frayed wire, every glitch, and yet here he is, someone else’s weapon.
The true horror of it doesn’t set in until Tony sees Spider-Man swing by—Tony raises his own hand, aims and locks on.
“No, no!” Tony yells, panicking. “No!”
He shoots a repulsor blast, and knocks Peter out of the air.
