"Are you okay?"
Before he could even think about it, the words had already left his mouth.
She tried to give him a reassuring smile, but it didn't look even slightly convincing. She probably noticed that too, because she just let out a little sigh before she started to speak.
"I'm fine Lyney, honestly. If you came because of the House of the Hearth, we can talk about it another time, I promise. I need to catch up with Paimon now, she already went to our hotel and I said I'd meet her there." Her voice sounded tired and somehow she looked much too young and much too old at the same time.
But Lyney was scared, scared that she just said it to get away from him and scared that she would promise it now, just to avoid him for the rest of her time in Fontaine. All he wanted was to explain what happened when he and Lynette were children, and to apologize for deceiving her.
So he stopped her when she was about to turn around again to walk away.
Or: What if Navia and Lumine never ate macarons during the first Archon Quest in Fontaine? What if Lumine didn't eat much at all during the Quest?

Without even being aware of it, he’s on his knees, arms stretched out in Senku’s direction, a confused bundle of gray and beige and green before his watery eyes, and messy are the movements he makes to hold the scientist. Senku jerks out in fear, a scream muffled against Gen’s chest, but he clutches Gen's purple robe as soon as he understands it’s not an attack, rather a hug, a tight, messy, desperate hug.
