He’ll bask in Yeonjun’s scent, always so warm, always so sated, like there’s nothing out of place, and he’ll pour the hot water in circles, until it’s brimming. The room will smell like whatever Yeonjun is cooking and the coffee Beomgyu is making, always paired with a hint of citrus green tea around them and that thick smoked firewood that has long since made a home in Beomgyu’s lungs. Then, at the very end, Beomgyu will open for them a pomegranate and give Yeonjun twelve seeds at a time. Yeonjun will smile at him, bright like the sun, and eat them twelve at a time, too, like he knows.
And Beomgyu —
Beomgyu will look at it all and let it wash over him and think of it as home.
