Mystery symptoms with no obvious causes are never easy to treat, even for a brilliant doctor, and it can be very hard for a brilliant doctor to admit to becoming a patient. Convincing Holmes that he's physically fine is no mean feat, but Watson manages it just fine until he doesn't, and then Holmes is required to pick up the pieces.

It's easy to dismiss a bit of extra exhaustion at first. Following Holmes around is, after all, quite draining. Then comes the pain and the weakness. But just when Watson most needs his friend, Holmes is constantly out of the house, leaving Watson to adjust to his new limitations himself. That is, until he miscalculates.
