Summary
Dodging cameras, eating chips, not talking, and breaking people who touch him have been four baseline components of Hook's public personality for a long time. With Danhausen in the picture, those last two have begun to change.

Summary
Dalish chucks a roll at him; he has to yank his goblet out of the way to keep it from being toppled, and the roll bounces twice before it reaches the edge of the table and falls into open air. A ghostly white hand catches it, brings it up to a face half-concealed by a drooping hat brim: Cole. Spirit-boy.
“Thanks,” Krem says.
Cole sniffs the roll, then hands it to him. “Horns pointing up. Holding that – holding them – not afraid of the death-eyes but of the nightmares that bring them down on friends; there is no hawk for him to hold onto, and words can’t bring them back.”
Krem blinks. “I don’t speak spirit metaphors.” -

The past is a shattered thing, strung together by the fragments we can remember. Furiosa's brain is loaded to capacity: work, life, death, injury. Her arm. Valkyrie's spine. Toast's garage. Angharad's recipes. Motorcycles that need to be repaired. Bills that have to be paid. Capable's fresh-off-the-internet life hacks and advice. Dag's latest blind date setup.
For once in her life, Furiosa drinks to forget.

"The Hellmouth is closed, sweetie. Scott can’t use impending doom as an excuse to ignore his feelings anymore." Lydia holds her hand out to check for chips in her polish. "Besides, it'll be hilarious to watch him pretend he’s not staring at Isaac ninety-percent of the time.”
“God, you sound like Stiles,” Allison says. “Hellmouth. This isn’t Buffy.”
“Isn't it? A transcontinental bonding session with the supernatural creatures of America. Sort of like Buffy, only on wheels and no one is dying. Werewolves, road trips, and unresolved sexual tension, oh my.”

Summary
One day he looks up from the scaffolding and realizes that he’s almost exactly at Jaeger height and has to wrap his hand tight against the metal to keep from stepping out into the air. Not because he wants to kill himself or anything, just because for a split second his mind felt that old equilibrium and he just knew he should be able to, should be able to walk straight across the valley in front of him and out into the sea and on forever until he finds whatever’s next.
