Summary
That promise is what roped Mysta into his current situation — sitting in front of his corkboard, where red string and messy handwriting were tied together in a puzzle so complex that it was nearly indecipherable. Various pictures of questionable quality decorated the board and surrounded a printed-out version of the eye-bleeding flyer promoting the fireworks event that Mysta had talked about earlier, somewhat more bearable when forced into the real world, but annoying to look at nonetheless. The detective leaned back in his chair, his eyes darting around the image board in an attempt to make sense of all the information he’d gathered so far.
Mysta is invited to the beach by his friend, Shu. He has reason to suspect that his friends are hiding something from him.

Summary
There was something more than knowledge in Vox’s eyes, though — a warning, a reminder of the lessons that both of them had already learned. He rested his chopsticks onto the bamboo placemat, as he said nothing but everything at the same time. And yet, it seemed like there was still something Vox had failed to grasp about the situation.
“So, what do you think about it?” Mysta’s voice dragged him away from the trance-like state Shu had lulled himself into, accompanied by his gloved fingers tapping the mahogany table repeatedly to grab the sorcerer’s attention. “You’re a sorcerer, right? I don’t have a ton of experience with the whole magic shit, so I don’t have the best grasp on the situation. I don’t need you to, like, guide me, I just want your opinion on this.” His fingers tapped on the table the whole time that he was talking, though Shu knew that it wasn’t still out of an attempt to get his attention but just a product of absentmindedness.
“Well, I can guide you if you want,” Shu commented before he could stop himself.
When Mysta takes up a supernatural case, Shu is more than willing to help him. He wasn't expecting to learn something about himself along the way.

Summary
It hurts, and Shu hates that he can't even tell which part of him is aching. He's lying in the grimy back alleys of Los Angeles with a stab wound in his gut and teenage angst permeating his body, and all he could think about was how much this fricking sucked. He hadn't even begun living yet, and he was already about to die.
He stared at the corpse of the bastard right across from him, the corpse whose death he'd directly caused.
Dying for this was worth it.There's around twenty-or so years unaccounted for in between Shu coming to Earth and him debuting in Luxiem. What happened in between? (He went through unimaginable childhood trauma and became magical Robin Hood.)

Summary
“Corner the demon, sprinkle the salt to get him to come out, I keep him distracted while you and Kurano work on the spell to neutralize him. Do not kill him unless absolutely necessary, do not lose focus under any circumstances, so on and so forth,” Hikarino recites monotonously, “we know. You’ve drilled it into our heads three hundred and fifty-one times.”
"You’ve been keeping count–? Uh, anyways, yeah, because it’s important. This is a really dangerous demon, if the guy who posted the ad is to be believed anyway.”
“Who posted the ad, anyway? Do you know the guy’s name, at least?” Kurano’s voice cut through the banter of Shu and Hikarino smoothly, concerned about the internet safety of Shu despite having almost no idea of what the internet even was. He made his way to the kitchen where the others were, making a point to step in between them.
"Uh, I forgot, but it was some guy on Craigslist.”
“Great,” Kurano said, having no idea what Craigslist was.
Alternatively, Shu and co need a little help when it comes to exorcising the local malignant youkai in their area. Thankfully, someone's around to help.

Summary
“Really? Then why did you decide to come to Earth at all?” He crossed his arms, staring down at Ren as if they weren’t the same height. “You could have gone to a more advanced civilization that was actually expecting you.”
“I saw the golden record.”Ren is an alien prince forced into the CIA's custody. It's not all bad, though - the officer in charge of him is pretty cute, at least.

Summary
“You are not a female assassin.” Shu stated plainly while Mysta continued to gawk openly.“No.” Ivy, or rather, Ike replied tersely, kicking off his high heels. “You’ll be surprised how easy it is to fool people by posing as a female.”
“Oh my god.” Mysta whispered, staring at Ike who rolled his eyes at him. “I thought you were female. I mean, I thought you were Ivy. I was going to thank her for the gold foiled chocolates filled with whiskey that gave me a mild concussion.”
Ike folded his arms, raising an eyebrow. “So that’s where my money went."
