Chapter 1: Don't Go Breaking My Heart
Chapter Text
Day 1 - First Kiss
Originally, Namjoon had just planned to stay until the end of the movie, sitting next to Jin on the couch, trying not to focus on every touch of their legs and trying to keep his eyes on the screen and not Jin.
He’d had a crush on Jin for a while, sort of like a celebrity crush, but then they actually met, and it became a lot more real. His feelings had intensified to the point where Namjoon was sure this was far beyond a simple crush
That’s why Namjoon was a bit panicked when the thunderstorm started halfway through the movie, the rain coming down in heavy sheets.
“I don’t want you to drive home in that, Namjoon… Maybe you should just stay the night,” Jin suggested, a thought that terrified the younger.
Yet he still woke up wrapped up in a blanket on Jin’s bed, jerking awake quickly. He looked around quickly only to find the bed empty, Jin no longer sleeping next to him. Glancing at the clock next to him, Namjoon saw it was just before ten AM.
Tossing the blanket off his legs, Namjoon got out of bed, his bare feet touching the cold hardwood. Shivering a bit, Namjoon reached back to the bed and grabbed the blanket again, wrapping it around his shoulders.
Now warm and cozy in his blanket burrito, Namjoon set off through the house, making his way downstairs, hearing music playing through the main floor. He couldn’t make out the song until he got to the bottom of the stairs, the music coming from the kitchen.
Am I being too open?
Cause I told you everything I have to say
And now we're having a moment
Does it make you wanna pick up all your things
And drive away like it's stolen?
Namjoon let out a soft laugh as he walked to the kitchen, watching Jin dance around the kitchen, singing along to the Backstreet Boys.
“Just forgive me if I'm being too open~” Namjoon sang along with Jin, his voice less angelic than the older’s. Jin jumped and whipped around, smiling brightly when he saw Namjoon all wrapped up in blankets. Jin cleared his throat before continuing to sing along to the song.
I'm not that kind of person
Who can fall in and out of love with you
That's not what love's supposed to do
I'm not that kind of person
Who can fall in and out of love with you
That's not what love's supposed to do
Namjoon walked toward Jin and let the blanket fall to the ground as Jin walked toward him, lifting his hands to brush his fingers over the silver chain he bought for Namjoon’s collar. Continuing to sing through the chorus again, Jin traced his fingers over Namjoon’s neck, brushing over the dark spots decorating his neck.
This time, Namjoon cleared his throat as the bridge came up, Jin nodding encouragingly.
I've been broken, I've been bruised
But now I'm all in 'cause of you
So if you're gonna love me, love me right, yeah
But if you're gonna be someone that hurts somebody just for fun
Then do it to a heart that isn't mine
Jin laughed as he leaned forward and rested his forehead on Namjoon’s shoulder, his hand trailing down Namjoon’s arm until he could touch the spots splattered across Namjoon’s forearms. They didn’t speak as the song continued to play in the background, pressed close together in the middle of the kitchen.
Namjoon couldn’t keep his eyes off of Jin, trying to memorize just how beautiful Jin looked in the morning sunlight, his oversized sweater slipping off his broad shoulders. He tried not to stare at Jin’s lips for too long, failing miserably as he imagined them against his own.
“I really like you, Jin-hyung…” Namjoon whispered before he could stop himself, a smile spreading on his lips. Jin lifted his head a bit, a breathless laugh leaving his lips as he lifted his hands to gently cup Namjoon’s face.
“I feel the same…” Jin leaned closer and hummed softly, eyes darting down to Namjoon’s lips before lifting them again. “Kiss me, you fool.”
Namjoon smiled wide as he wrapped his arms around Jin’s waist to pull him closer, leaning closer until their lips pressed together. A pleased hum left Namjoon’s lips as he tilted his head into the kiss, one of his hand lifting to brush over Jin’s jaw.
It was over quickly, Namjoon pulling back slowly and looking at Jin through lidded eyes. They smiled at each other, Jin’s fingers brushing gently over Namjoon’s dimples, the song slowly coming to an end.
Baby don't go...

Day 2 - Pets
“Come on, Hyung! I promise they don’t bite!” Namjoon laughed softly as he turned around to look at Jin. The older seemed terrified to step into Namjoon’s apartment, not making eye contact.
Namjoon had suggested that Jin come over after their coffee date, having forgotten to mention to the older that his apartment rivaled a reptile sanctuary. But as soon as Namjoon had opened the door, explaining the light inside was from his reptile tanks, Jin had frozen outside of the door.
“You aren’t scared of me and I’m a reptile!” Namjoon tried, unable to wipe the smile off of his lips. Jin pushed his lips out in a pout and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Part reptile! You aren’t small and slimy!” Jin snapped, though there wasn’t much venom in his tone.
“I… Um… I hate to break it to you, but not all reptiles are slimy,” Namjoon reached out and took Jin’s hand in his own, pulling a bit on his arm, though the elder didn’t budge. “Have you ever seen a Leopard Gecko?”
“Uh, yeah, I’ve met you,” Jin stated, rolling his eyes as if it were the most obvious answer.
“I mean an actual gecko…” Namjoon snorted as he pulled on Jin’s hand again, finally getting him into the apartment. “They don’t climb much and don’t bite. You don’t have to hold him, but I want to show you one of mine.”
Jin seemed hesitant as Namjoon lead him into the apartment, eyes darting around him to look at the tanks lined across the walls, close to 15 in total. They were sorted by species in the room, amphibians, lizards and snakes all lined around the walls.
“Are those spiders?!” Jin shrieked and pulled his hand from Namjoon’s, backing away from some of the tanks. Namjoon glanced over and smiled a bit.
“I only have two tarantulas. They’re very docile and usually just hide in their burrows.”
“They’re still spiders!” Jin exclaimed, looking at Namjoon with wide eyes. The younger laughed again and took Jin’s hand, squeezing it gently, trying to comfort the older.
“It’s okay, Jin-hyung. Now let’s go see the geckos,” Namjoon hummed as he led Jin further away from the arachnids. He finally stopped in front of a few tanks. Reaching into one, he moved the small rock hide out of the way before lifting out a bright orange lizard.
“This is Jackson, my favourite reptile. He’s very gentle and also clingy. When I take him out, he’ll usually end up climbing up to my neck and just snuggling into the shirt or sweater,” Namjoon laughed as he held the small animal in his palms, the gecko blinking his large eyes as Jin stared back at him. Jin opened his mouth to ask something but Namjoon cut him off. “No, he is not slimy. He feels the same as how my tail feels.”
Jin looked at Namjoon for a moment before he hesitantly lifted a hand, reaching out slowly before he stopped a few inches away from the reptile.
“Can I pet him? Is that okay?” Jin asked quietly, almost as if he feared he would spook the animal, though it hadn’t moved, laying in Namjoon’s palms, looking up at Jin calmly.
“Yes, you can. But only pet his head, sometimes they get nervous if you go to close to their tails,” Namjoon warned, stepping closer to Jin.
The elder reached out again and slowly brushed one of his fingers over the gecko’s head before he pulled his hand back quickly.
“Oh, he feels weird… Different than your tail,” Jin whispered, frowning a bit as he looked up at Namjoon.
“That’s because my tail is basically scar tissue, just from healing over so many times. His skin has all these bumps cause that’s how they’re supposed to be.” Namjoon pointed at Jackson’s tail, showing Jin how their tails looked different. “This is how my tail looked before I dropped it. But they never heal back the same. I have another gecko, BamBam, who’s dropped his tail a few times, mostly just from stress.”
Jin nodded slowly as he took in the information, biting at his lip. Namjoon was a bit worried that Jin was starting to get scared by all of this until the older lifted his eyes, a glint of determination in his gaze.
“I wanna hold him.”
~
“I think he likes you,” Namjoon hummed as he looked over at Jin from the opposite end of the couch. Jin looked up at him with a smile on his lips, Jackson curled up against Jin’s neck, seemingly asleep.
“I hope so… I’m really glad you showed me the reptiles,” Jin hummed, shifting the collar of his sweater a bit so it better covered the gecko’s tiny body. “But please… Never try to give me one of those fucking spiders…”
Chapter 3: Valid
Summary:
Day 3 is Hoseok learning how fucking valid he is!!!
Chapter Text
Day 3 - Affirmation
Hoseok was staring at his phone with a slight frown, tapping his foot on the ground, something that concerned Jungkook. Lifting himself to his feet, he strode over to his Hyung, snatching his phone quickly, tossing it over his shoulder, pulling a panicked yelp from Hoseok. The phone landed on the other couch, bouncing safely against the cushion, a sigh of relief leaving Hoseok’s lips before he lifted his eyes to look up and Jungkook, the younger standing with his arms crossed, eyebrow raised.
“What were you looking at that made you frown like that?” Jungkook asked, his lips pushed out in a pout. “I don’t like seeing you frown.”
Hoseok stared at him for a moment before letting out a soft sigh, shifting over and patting the spot next to him. The Bunny sat down and looked at his owner, shifting so he could wrap his arm around Hoseok’s waist.
“I was thinking of coming out to my parents…” Hoseok murmured, shifting a bit in his seat, staring down at his hands. “But when you google ‘how do I tell my parents I’m asexual’ you get a whole lot of ‘That’s not a real thing’…”
Jungkook whined softly at his owner’s distress, leaning closer to rest his chin on Hoseok’s shoulder, leaning over to press a comforting kiss to the older’s head.
“I guess I just… I feel like… I’m not valid, I guess… That maybe it’s not real and I’m just not trying hard enough…” Hoseok lifted a hand to rub his face, a heavy breath leaving his lips.
“A sex drive isn’t something you try to have. You either have it or you don’t. You don’t get to decide how high it is,” Taehyung’s voice cut in as the puppy walked into the room, having just put Daejung to bed. Hoseok lifted his head to look at Taehyung, frowning a bit as the Puppy came to kneel in front of him. “You are valid. Asexuality is real, Hyung… You shouldn’t feel ashamed about it, either.”
Hoseok bit at his lower lip as he stared at Taehyung, the Hybrid giving him a comforting smile, reaching out to cup Hoseok’s cheeks, squishing them a bit.
“Hyung, we love you just the way you are. You don’t have to act like you’re something you’re not,” Taehyung whispered, a smile coming to Jungkook’s lips as he hugged Hoseok closer, nodding against his owner’s shoulder.
“We love you lots,” Jungkook whispered as he pressed another kiss to Hoseok’s shoulder, rubbing his back gently. Hoseok let out a breathless laugh as he leaned his head against Jungkook’s, reaching down to hold Taehyung’s hand.
“I love you guys so much… Fuck, you make me so happy…” Hoseok whispered, taking a deep breath before he straightened, sniffling a bit to avoid any tears falling. “I think I’m going to tell them… I’ll tell my family.”
Jungkook let out a small cheer as he hugged Hoseok close to his chest, nuzzling his hair.
“There’s a family gathering in a couple days… I want you guys to come with me. I’m going to tell them there,” Hoseok smiled softly as he looked between Taehyung and Jungkook, the two younger boys nodding quickly.
“Good. Just… Try to behave around my family…”
Chapter 4: Family
Summary:
Day 4 is hoseok coming out to his family ^^
Chapter Text
Day 4 - Closet
The family gathering was awkward to say the least.
To start with, Hoseok’s family was very old fashioned, which was the reason he never told them he had any Hybrid’s.
Which was the second issue, as Jungkook and Taehyung sat on either side of him on the couch, receiving many disgusted looks from Hoseok’s family.
“Hoseokie, don’t you think… those should be on the floor?” His aunt asked in a hesitant voice, disapproval in her eyes as she looked at the Hybrids. Behind him, Hoseok felt Jungkook reach over to Taehyung, rubbing the Puppy’s back as he pressed closer to his owner.
Hoseok had never liked his aunt and uncle. They’d gotten their son a Hybrid when he was a teenager, a sweet Cat Hybrid that they had named Sumin. They treated her like an animal, kept her in a cage during the night, always on a leash. He would always go visit his cousin just to see her during the night and keep her company.
Then he came back the summer before he’d adopted Jungkook and she wasn’t there. He asked where she had gone, and his uncle said he had ‘taken care of that bitch’.
Hoseok never went back.
“No, they shouldn’t be. They’re my family,” Hoseok said as he gently squeezed Taehyung’s knee, raising his eyebrow at the woman. “If anything, you husband is more animal than my boys. He should sit on the floor.”
Hoseok was pretty sure his aunt had gasped but he hadn’t heard it over Jungkook snorting next to him. The Bunny gently rubbed his cheek against Hoseok’s shoulder before looking at his owner.
“I like when you get all defensive. You don’t hold back,” Jungkook grinned, his hand still rubbing Taehyung’s back. The Puppy was resting his head on Hosoek’s other shoulder, humming softly to calm himself from the eyes on him.
When someone came into the room, Hoseok lifted his eyes to see the very uncle he’d just insulted. The man had not heard a word of what Hoseok had said to his wife, yet he still looked at the trio in disgust.
“You’re almost 25, Hoseok. Don’t you think you should actually look for a serious relationship? You can’t fuck these things forever,” the older man muttered, lifting his beer to his lips. Hoseok counted it as his fourth.
“You can’t really say much, seeing as you’re fucking a pig,” Hoseok shrugged and looked at his aunt’s horrified face before turning back to his uncle, the man red-faced and cursing. When his parents stepped into the living room to see what all the fuss was about, Hoseok froze.
It was now or never.
Composing himself, Hoseok lifted his chin and cleared his throat.
“Besides, I’m not fucking them, seeing as I’m asexual.”
The victory of getting it out didn’t last long when he saw the confusion on his mother’s face.
“Hoseokie, that’s… I just think you haven’t found the right person yet… Humans aren’t asexual, they can’t be,” his mother spoke slowly, as if trying to explain something to a toddler. Hoseok swallowed and clenched his hands into fists, suddenly at a loss for words.
It seemed, however, that he didn’t have to defend himself. Jungkook seemed to handle that pretty well when he stood quickly and grabbed the nearest object to him, which happened to be the wooden rocking chair that had been there since Hoseok was a child. Rage filled his eyes when he grabbed the back of the chair and – being as strong as he was – easily flung it at the wall next to where Hoseok’s uncle was standing.
Screams and shouts filled the room as ever moved away from the shattering chair, the Hybrid’s hands clenched into fists.
“It is fucking real!” Jungkook screamed as he reached next to him again and grabbed a small plant this time, aiming straight for Hoseok’s uncle this time. “He’s fucking valid and he doesn’t need you to tell him what he is or isn’t!”
A family photo hit the wall next to Hoseok’s mother.
“And he has found a serious relationship! With us!” Jungkook was panting by the end as he reached down and took Hoseok and Taehyung hands, the two boys frozen in place on the couch. “He doesn’t need scum like you in his life.”
With those final words, Jungkook tugged the older boys from the couch and pulled them from the house.
“They aren’t your family, Hoseok. You don’t need people who put you down in your life, even if they are blood related. You don’t need that.”
It was at this point that Hoseok noticed the tears falling from Jungkook’s eyes, stopping the Bunny next to their parked car. He gently took Jungkook’s face in his hands and wiped his cheeks, giving the boy a small smile.
“You don’t need that, Hyung…” Jungkook whimpered as he reached up to hold Hoseok’s hands. “You have us… We’re your family…”
“I know, Jungkookie… Thank you so much…”
Chapter 5: Flower
Summary:
Bambi wants to see Daejung and Daejung has a gift for him ^^
Notes:
A bit of context to this story is that on my blog, Taekookhope have an adoptive son named Daejung ^^ He made friends with a Deer Hybrid living in the forest near his house
Chapter Text
Day 5 - Flowers
Bambi hated when it rained. It would be so dark out and, as a Deer Hybrid, he would have to hide back in his forest den, curled up close to his mother. He hated the feeling of rain on his ears as well as in his fluffy hair.
He especially hated that Daejung wasn’t allowed outside when it rained.
Bambi understood why, the boy’s lack of sight making his daddies nervous. It didn’t stop Bambi from sulking as he waited for the rain to go away.
Thankfully it didn’t take long, sunlight shining through the leaves as Bambi crawled out of the den, waving goodbye to his mother as she laughed. He hurried through the forest, his little hooves clacking against the occasional stick or rock.
When he reached Daejung’s yard, he looked around excitedly for the Kitten, frowning when he didn’t see him. He looked over to the house, noticing one of Daejung’s daddies, Hoseok, was tending to some flowers by the porch.
“H-Hyungnim…” Bambi spoke nervously, having not spoken to Daejung’s daddies much. “Would you know where Daejungie is?”
Hoseok jumped at the sudden voice before he turned around and sighed, a smile spreading on his lips. He knelt down in front of Bambi and gently ruffled the Deer’s curly hair.
“I wasn’t expecting you to come up behind me like that,” Hoseok laughed softly before he looked over his shoulder. “And I think Daejung is just around the front of the house with Taehyung right now. They said they’d be right back. Come sit down, you can wait for him.”
Hoseok pulled up one of the patio chairs for Bambi, letting the little Hybrid hop onto the seat before he resumed weeding his flower box.
“…love them, Baby,” Taehyung’s voice came from around the side of the house before Bambi saw the tall Hybrid, smiling down at Daejung, the Kitten holding tightly onto Taehyung’s hand, milky blue eyes staring straight ahead as they walked up to the patio.
“Oh, Bambi! Daejungie was hoping you’d come today!” Taehyung said cheerfully before turning his gaze down to Daejung, the Kitten’s ears now laying flat, fluffy tail lowering down to the wet grass. Bambi could see the pink of his cheeks as the boy lowered his head, obviously embarrassed. Taehyung gave a small smile as he crouched down, gently petting Daejung’s hair. “Come on, Sweetie… Don’t you have something for Bambi?”
Bambi’s ears perked as he sat up straighter, his own cheeks staining a soft pink. Daejung took a hesitant step forward, ears twitching a bit to help him figure out where Bambi was. Once he was standing in front of the patio chair, shifting nervously in place, he cleared his throat.
“I picked these for you… I dunno what they look like, but I thought you might like them…” Daejung said hesitantly, lifting his hand quickly to hold out a small bundle of dandelions, the wet petals shining in the sunlight.
Bambi’s cheeks burned as he lifted his small hands to take the flowers, hopping off the chair to wrap his arms around Daejung, squeezing the boy tight.
“Thank you, Daejungie…” Bambi said is a small voice, holding onto the boy’s fluffy, blue sweater. “I love them so so much…”
“Are they pretty?” Daejung asked softly, his fluffy tail flicking a bit behind him.
“Yes… They’re the pretties flowers I’ve ever seen…”
Chapter 6: Tired
Summary:
Day 6 is Jimin and Yoongi getting a break from the twins and deciding to go to a café
Chapter Text
Day 6 - Coffee Shop
When Taehyung had agreed to watching the twins for a day, Yoongi had been overjoyed that him and Jimin would have a bit of time to breath. Jimin had been so tired lately, the babies seeming to get needier in the middle of the night.
“Are you sure you’ll be okay with them?” Jimin asked hesitantly as he looked at Taehyung, rocking from side to side with Jiu held close to his chest. Taehyung smiled and reached forward, gently taking the Kitten from Jimin’s arms, patting his friends arm.
“I’ll be fine, Jiminnie. You worry too much,” Taehyung laughed softly as he rubbed the baby’s back, leaning forward to press a kiss to Jimin’s forehead. “Now, go on. Rest for a bit.”
Jimin let out a soft whine that only stopped when Yoongi stepped forward and gently rubbed the boys back, his fluffy tail flicking behind him. Jimin nodded slowly and turned to Yoongi.
“Let’s go before I change my mind and take the babies home,” Jimin breathed as he ushered Yoongi out of the house, holding his boyfriends arm tightly.
“What did you want to do?” Yoongi asked once they got into the car, Jimin’s hands folded in his lap as he stared at the house. Reaching out, Yoongi turned Jimin’s head toward him, his thumb brushing over the boy’s cheek as he stared at the dark circles under Jimin’s eyes.
Jimin shrugged as he leaned toward Yoongi’s hand, a soft sound leaving the boy’s plump lips.
“How about we go to that café you love and then go home and maybe take a nap?” Yoongi suggested as he leaned in to kiss Jimin’s forehead, the soft thumping of Jimin’s tail against the seat echoing through the car.
“Okay… That sounds nice,” Jimin hummed as Yoongi leaned back into his seat, starting up the car before holding his hand out for Jimin to hold. The Puppy smiled and gently took Yoongi’s hand, eyes closing as soft music played from the radio.
When Yoongi parked the car, for a moment worrying that Jimin had fallen asleep on the short rise to the café, sighing softly when Jimin slowly blinked open his eyes, lifting a hand to rub at his tired eyes.
“We can just go home, Jiminnie… And you can get some sleep,” Yoongi suggested, only to receive a shake of the head in response.
“No, I want cake…” Jimin murmured as he lowered his hand and opened the car door, slipping outside. Yoongi stared after him for a moment before he got out as well, following after the Puppy. There weren’t many people in the café, a few couples and some students that looked close to crying as they studied.
Jimin ordered a slice of cheesecake and Yoongi ordered an americano before they sat down on one of the plush couches, a fake fire in front of them.
“Thank you… For taking me out with you, Hyung…” Jimin murmured, taking a large bite of his cake, a soft moan leaving his lips as he chewed the food.
“Jimin, you realize we gave the twins to Tae so you could have a break, right?” Yoongi said with a small laugh, his arm wrapped around Jimin’s shoulders, pressing a soft kiss to the Hybrid’s head. The Puppy hummed softly as he took another bite of his cake before setting it on the coffee table.
“I know… But I’m glad that we got to go out… We rarely get any time to go on dates without the babies…” Jimin whispered, shifting a bit to press a kiss to Yoongi’s shoulder before snuggling close to him, fingers tracing over Yoongi’s thigh.
Jimin’s voice sounded so soft and he was relaxing against Yoongi, resting his head on his boyfriend’s chest. Yoongi hadn’t even realized when Jimin’s eyes closed, but he did notice when the Puppy’s breathing seemed to even out.
He definitely figured it out when Jimin snored softly.
A smile spread across Yoongi’s lips, wide enough that his gums showed, pulling out his phone. He took a picture of him and Jimin, the Hybrid sleeping soundly, before he gently pat Jimin’s side.
“Baby, wake up…” Yoongi whispered, kissing the boys head gently. Jimin didn’t move, only let out a small groan, arms moving to wrap around Yoongi’s waist.
For a moment, Yoongi debated trying again, but stopped when he looked down at Jimin’s peaceful face, looking at the dark circles under the boy’s eyes again. His hand lowered to gently rest around Jimin’s waist and he pulled the boy closer to his side.
Maybe he’d give Jimin a bit longer to sleep.
Chapter 7: Night Terrors
Summary:
Day 7 is Jungkook having night terrors and Taehyung and Hoseok comforting him
Chapter Text
Day 7 - Shadow
Jungkook was normally pretty still when he slept, either curled in on himself or tangled between Taehyung and Hoseok.
That’s why Taehyung woke up when Jungkook started twitching, soft whines leaving his lips. Frowning, Taehyung lifted a hand to gently brush his fingers through Jungkook’s hair, finding it damp with sweat.
“Hoseok…” Taehyung whispered, reaching over to gently shake the oldest awake, the boy humming and pressing closer to Jungkook’s back. His hand brushed against Jungkook’s waist, the action causing the Bunny to flinch, curling in tighter on himself.
The harsh jerk was what woke up Hoseok, their owner pulling back sharply, a soft gasp leaving his lips. Taehyung saw him blink a few times, trying to adjust to the dark room, the only light coming from the moonlight through the curtains.
Jungkook let out a soft cry as he grasped at the bedsheets, the bed shaking a bit from how the boy trembled. Taehyung and Hoseok looked at each other for a moment before the older reached down and gently shook Jungkook’s shoulder. Jungkook whimpered, a painful sound for both of his boyfriends.
Hoseok leaned down to press a soft kiss to Jungkook’s head, rubbing his arm soothingly. A shuddering breath left the Bunny’s lips as he pressed closer,
In the moonlight, Taehyung could see the shine of tears on Jungkook’s tanned cheeks, his lips trembling as he pressed closer to Hoseok’s chest. Taehyung couldn’t stop himself from reaching down and wiping away the tracks of tears, his hand shaking a bit as he leaned down to press his lips to Jungkook’s forehead.
“Baby, it’s okay… We’re here, Kookie. Hoseokie-Hyung and I are here for you,” Taehyung whispered as he kissed the Bunny’s forehead repeatedly. He watched the fluffy, grey ears twitch a bit at the sound before Jungkook’s big eyes opened slowly.
Silence filled the room as Jungkook lifted his eyes to look at Taehyung, a shaking hand holding the Puppy’s shirt.
“Taehyungie…” He whispered, turning his head to look at the hand that rubbed at his arm. “Hoseokie…” Neither of the boys ever minded when Jungkook dropped honorifics, especially after nights like this.
“It’s okay, Kookie,” Hoseok hummed as he kissed Jungkook’s shoulder. “They can’t get you anymore… You’re safe with us.”
Jungkook stayed silent as he leaned his forehead against Taehyung’s thigh, the older petting his head gently.
“They were following me… They were these dark shadows, but I knew it was them. And I kept running and running but I couldn’t get away.” He was whining as he spoke, grip tightening on Taehyung’s shirt.
The Puppy shushed his gently, petting his hair slowly.
“They will never lay another finger on you, Kookie… You’re safe now.”
Chapter 8: Hearts
Summary:
Jimin is running late for a date with Yoongi ^^
Chapter Text
Day 8 - Drawing on Skin
Jimin hated being late, especially when it was to meet Yoongi. They’d had plans to meet at the mall at 4 and it was currently half past.
He was normally perfect for showing up on time, but he’d been at Taehyung’s house, the two of them watching over Daejung and Bambi as they played around the house. Maybe it was that Taehyung’s couch was very comfortable or that Jimin hadn’t been sleeping much since the twins were born, but it wasn’t long before Jimin had fallen asleep.
Taehyung had woken him up a bit late, a smile on his face as he told Jimin he was going to be late if he didn’t run.
Oh, did he run.
Yet he was still late.
When he burst into the mall, Jimin quickly spotted his boyfriend, looking amazing in his red plaid and ripped jeans, scrolling through his phone. Jimin panted as he jogged up to Yoongi, the older lifting his head to look at Jimin. A wide smile spread across his face as he stared at Jimin in amusement.
“Did you fall asleep?” Yoongi asked as he stepped closer, lifting a hand to gently run his thumb over Jimin’s cheek. The Hybrid nodded, his breathing seeming to calm a bit as he smiled at Yoongi. The other seemed distracted staring at where he was touching Jimin’s cheek before he finally lifted his gaze.
“Come on. Let’s walk around for a bit,” Yoongi hummed as he reached down to take Jimin’s hand, the smile still spread across his face. It seemed like he knew something that Jimin didn’t.
“What’s going on, Hyung…? Why are you smiling like that?” Jimin asked as he looked up at Yoongi, squeezing the older boy’s hand gently. He was happy Yoongi had become more lenient for Jimin wearing the leash recently, grateful that he could just hold Yoongi’s hand.
Yoongi didn’t answer for a moment before he laughed again, lowering his head. He pointed at the wall next to him, a mirrored wall the mall had recently put in. The Puppy lifted his eyes and gasped softly when he looked at his reflection, the crudely drawn hearts standing out on his cheeks.
“I’m going to assume that was Bambi’s idea…” Yoongi laughed as he looked at Jimin, he Hybrid rubbing at his cheek roughly with his sleeve, trying to get the ink off. It seemed to smudge a bit but didn’t come off.
Yoongi reached over to pull Jimin’s hands away from his face, a pout on his lips.
“You’re going to hurt yourself like that, Jiminnie…” Yoongi whispered before he reached into his pocket and pulled out a black face mask, securing it around Jimin’s ears and pulling it up to cover the black ink on Jimin’s cheeks. The Puppy sighed and shifted to rest his forehead on Yoongi’s shoulder.
“I’m going to kill Taehyung for not telling me…”
Chapter 9: Stargazing
Summary:
Taekook had plans to go stargazing, but a rainy night might ruin that
Chapter Text
Day 9 - Stars
Jungkook stared outside with a frown on his plump lips, hands pushing into the pockets of his hoodie. Water trailed down the window, rain hammering against the roof of the house, thunder roaring outside.
“Kookie, it’s fine… We can go stargazing another night,” Taehyung whispered as he wrapped his arms around Jungkook’s waist, pressing a soft kiss to his boyfriend’s neck. The Bunny sighed as he pressed closer to Taehyung, watching lightning shoot across the sky.
“But we’ve been planning this for weeks… It was supposed to be the full moon tonight,” Jungkook whispered as he turned around, frowning a bit as Taehyung hugged him close, hand rubbing the younger boy’s back.
“I know, baby, but it’s okay. We can do it on a clearer night.” With that, Taehyung gently took Jungkook’s hand, pulling him toward their room.
Now Jungkook has slept in this room for 8 years, he knew this room like the back of his hand.
He knew there had never been glow in the dark stars on the ceiling.
Everywhere.
“What is this…?” Jungkook asked hesitantly as he walked into the room. Taehyung smiled as he walked further into the room.
“I bought these for Daejung a while ago, but then realized he wouldn’t even know I’d put them up… So, I had ten packs of glow in the dark stars and an hour to put them up while you were pouting by the window,” Taehyung giggled, silencing Jungkook’s protest with a kiss before he pulled Jungkook over to the bed. “Now we can stargaze even when it’s raining.”
Jungkook sat on the bed and stared up at the stickers on the ceiling, his bunny teeth showing as he smiled, laying back on their bed.
“It’s amazing… I love it…” Jungkook hummed, stretching out as Taehyung curled up next to him, pulling him closer by the waist.
They lost track of time, staring at the ceiling, sharing small kisses and talking softly. Everything had been so quiet, only the sound of the rain on the roof echoing through the room.
That was until the door slammed open and the two Hybrid’s sat up quickly, eyes wide as they stared at the figure in the doorway.
“Holy fuck, it’s crazy out there!” The familiar voice exclaimed, the two finally recognizing the figure as Hoseok, his entire body soaked from the rain. Taehyung laughed softly as he got up, walking over to their owner as he closed the door behind him.
“Come on, Hyung. Change into some dry clothes and come stargaze with us…”

“How do I look, Hyung?” Jimin asked, turning around to look at Yoongi. The older was leaning back on their bed, having already picked out a pale, yellow shirt that was a size to big along with some ripped, black jeans. Jimin had been trying to find an outfit for the past hour, a pile of clothes now formed next to their floor-length mirror. Jimin turned around to look at Yoongi, frowning as he put his hands on his hips.
He’d changed from outfit to outfit, now wearing a flowy, orange crop-top with puffed up sleeves that covered his hands, a simple pair of blue skinny jeans and a matching denim jacket in his hands.
“I like it, Jiminnie,” Yoongi smiled, eyes softening when he watched Jimin’s tail raise a bit, wagging from side to side. “Are you going to wear the jacket?”
“I’m not sure… It’s pretty hot out so I might leave it here…” Jimin looked back up as Yoongi walked toward him, taking the jacket and tossing it onto the bed.
“Then let’s go,” Yoongi smiled as he pulled Jimin closer. “We’re going to be late if we don’t leave now.”
Jimin’s ears perked up as he nodded quickly, taking Yoongi’s hand and rushing downstairs, quickly slipping his feet into his black Timberlands before he waited by the door.
Even though they were late, Yoongi and Jimin were the first ones to get to the restaurant, which they weren’t too surprised by. It was always them first, then Jin and Namjoon and finally, Hoseok with Taehyung and Jungkook.
“I’m glad they aren’t mad we were late for the reservation…” Jimin hummed as he looked over the menu. Yoongi was about to respond when someone sat down in the seat next to him, shocking both him and Jimin.
“Sorry we’re late! Someone ripped my favourite shirt, so I had to pick a new one,” Jin spoke, side-eyeing Namjoon as the Hybrid sat down next to his boyfriend, sighing heavily.
“I didn’t mean to! There was a loose thread and I tried to get it off! It didn’t think it would rip a hole in your shirt…” Namjoon pouted, crossing his arms over his chest. Yoongi turned to Jin again and looked at his shirt, a soft, pink sweater that Yoongi had gotten him for Christmas a few years ago.
“This shirt looks fine, Hyung… Besides, I think I got you that, so it’s gotta look good,” Yoongi smirked as he tipped his head. Jimin giggled next to him and gently held Yoongi’s arm.
“Yeah, this shirt looks really nice, Daddy! It also looks nice with Namjoonie-Hyungs!” Yoongi had to agree that the pastel pink complimented the royal blue of Namjoon’s blazer, a plain white t-shirt under the jacket.
“Jimin’s right! You two look cute!” A new, quite loud voice cut in, four heads turning to see Hoseok walking toward them with Jungkook and Taehyung behind him, a bright smile on his lips. His loud comment brought the attention of a few people in the restaurant, but no one really cared. They’d gotten used to the stares they got a long time ago.
Once they sat down that the table was when something stuck out to Yoongi.
Jungkook took the head of the table wearing a loose, red hoodie and some dark jeans. Then there was Jimin next to him in his flowy, orange shirt. Then Yoongi himself in his oversized yellow shirt. Then Namjoon in blue. Taehyung hadn’t taken his seat yet, showing Namjoon something on his phone, a sheer green shirt on. Then Jin in his soft pink sweater. And finally, Hoseok in a plaid shirt that just had to be purple.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” Silence fell over the table as Yoongi spoke, all heads turning to him.
“Is something wrong, Hyung?” Jimin asked softly, gently touching Yoongi’s arm.
“Guys, we need to coordinate better next time,” Yoongi huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. “We look like we belong of a fucking pride float.”
Chapter 11: Busan
Summary:
Hoseok and Namjoon take a road trip to Busan
Chapter Text
Day 11 - Road Trip
Namjoon loved road trips. He just never really got the chance, since his work schedules rarely worked up with his friends.
That’s why as soon as him and Hoseok got a few days off together, they decided they’d take a day trip down to Busan.
“Why did you pick Busan?” Namjoon asked Hoseok, looking up from where he was flipping through Hoseok’s CD’s, trying to find something to listen to that didn’t have way too many commercial breaks.
“Do you remember when I helped out leave your owner? The night we drove to Seoul?”
Namjoon did remember that night. He remembered sneaking out the window while his owner was passed out on the couch, empty bottles scattered across the floor. He remembered trusting the stranger he’d only met a week earlier, hoping and praying that he would show up like he’d promised. He remembered stepping out onto the street to find Hoseok leaning against a beat-up car, tapping his foot nervously.
He remembered the long drive back to Seoul, Jungkook asleep in the back of the car, wrapped up in a soft blanket. The soft music that played through the vehicle as Hoseok asked Namjoon questions about himself that he couldn’t answer. “Where were you born?” “How long have you been there?” “Do you have any family you can stay with?”
Namjoon couldn’t answer, he wasn’t sure if he had family anywhere, so Hoseok decided that Namjoon could stay with him until they figured out where to go from there.
That night is not one that Namjoon could ever forget. He remembered that night but wasn’t sure how it had to do with Busan.
“I do…” Namjoon said hesitantly, glancing at Hoseok out of the corner of his eye. The older laughed softly as he tapped his fingers against the steering wheel.
“I talked about a trip I took to Busan when I was a teenager. I told you about how pretty it was, about how nice the beaches are out where,” Hoseok reminisced, a smile on his lips as he looked at Namjoon briefly. “You told me you’d never been there.”
“I still haven’t, surprisingly. I never had a reason to go,” Namjoon hummed, knowing he should have found time to go in the past seven years.
“And I promised you that one day, we’d go,” Hoseok smiled, keeping his eyes on the road as he spoke. Namjoon stared at Hoseok, his mouth opened a bit in shock. Hoseok had remembered that for so long, and actually kept the promise as well.
A feeling of admiration washed over Namjoon as a smile spread across his lips, dimples prominent on his cheeks. He felt so warm, almost dizzy from how many emotions he was feeling.
“Hoseok?” Namjoon said softly, receiving a small hum in response. “I love you so much. You have no idea how grateful I am that you came into my life.”
From where he was looking at Hoseok, he saw the older boy’s eyes widen, his cheeks staining a bright pink.
“H-hey, don’t get all sappy on me!” Hoseok exclaimed, sounding breathless despite having not moved. Namjoon couldn’t help but laugh as he looked back to the folder of CD’s, flipping through a few more, knowing there was something else he wanted to say.
“You know… I used to have the biggest crush on you,” Namjoon finally spoke, pulling out a homemade CD that just said Hyung in Jungkook’s messy writing. Hoseok was silent for a moment, Namjoon was scared he’d made a mistake. “I thought it was amazing, what you did for me. And I guess at some point I caught feelings, but I knew you were with Jungkook. So, I didn’t want to intrude at all.”
“I know, Joonie,” Hoseok laughed softly as he looked over at Namjoon. “You were very obvious.”
Namjoon could feel his cheeks heating up a bit, turning his head away as he roughly shoved the CD made by Jungkook into the player, switching from the radio, hoping to change the subject with the music.
That was until Let’s Not Fall in Love by Big Bang started playing.
“FUCK!” Namjoon exclaimed as he quickly pressed the eject button, silence falling over the car again before Hoseok burst out laughing, having to pull over to calm himself down.
“Fuck, Namjoon… I love you, man…”
Chapter 12: Valid pt.2
Summary:
Taehyung and Jungkook go shopping and find a gift for Hoseok
Chapter Text
Day 12 - Shopping
Taehyung didn’t really have plans when him and Jungkook went to the mall. They never really did, just went into basically every store, usually spending hours in the mall, just wandering.
This wasn’t any different.
Jungkook had pulled Taehyung into a clothing store, metal music playing through the darker store. Jungkook always seemed to like this place, though he rarely bought anything, only looked at all the cool shirts he’d find.
They were just about to leave when Taehyung stopped in front of a display of shirts, looking over the text on each one.
“TaeTae? Is everything okay?” Jungkook asked, walking back toward the older, following his gaze to the shirts.
“I want to get it for Hobi-Hyung…” Taehyung murmured, reaching down to pull one of the shirts off the display, holding it up for Jungkook to see.
It was a black tank top, the fabric soft under Taehyung’s fingers, but that wasn’t what he was focusing on. What caught his eye was the word VALID in white, grey and purple.
Jungkook stared at the shirt and Taehyung knew they were thinking the same thing.
Hoseok hadn’t exactly been the same since the family gathering, he seemed quieter now and he hadn’t worn any of his Asexuality shirts, something he used to do almost every day.
“Let’s do it,” Jungkook nodded, grabbing the shirt and bringing it to the counter.
“Hyung! We’re home!” Taehyung called as he threw open the door, walking inside with Jungkook following him. A moment later, Hoseok walked downstairs, holding Daejung on his hip as the Kitten slept soundly.
“Hey, guys. Did you get anything?” Hoseok smiled as he walked toward the living room, the Hybrid’s following behind him. He set Daejung down on the couch, laying a blanket over the boy’s small body, kissing his head before he sat down next to him.
Taehyung glanced at Jungkook before he smiled, nodding to the younger.
“We did,” Jungkook smiled as he lifted up the bag with the shirt inside. “We got you something!”
“Me?” Hoseok tilted his head, though the smile didn’t leave his lips. “You didn’t have to, guys.”
“But we wanted to! Here, look at it!” Jungkook handed the bag to Hoseok, looking at Taehyung with a smile before they both turned their gazes back to Hoseok. The oldest looked inside the bag before he lifted out the shirt, lifting it up to read the text, his face now hidden behind the dark fabric.
After a moment, Hoseok dropped his arms, looking up at the two of them in surprise before he stood up, dropping the shirt onto the couch and pulling the two boys into a tight hug, head lowered.
“Thank you…” Hoseok whispered, a slight waver to his voice. Taehyung’s eyes widened when he felt Hoseok shake slightly, gripping their shirts tighter.
“Hyung, don’t cry…” Taehyung whispered as he hugged Hoseok tighter, Jungkook quickly following him, fingers threading into Hoseok’s hair. Pulling away, Hoseok smiled at them, tears rolling down his cheeks as he gently touched their cheeks.
“This means so much to me… You have no idea,” Hoseok whispered as he leaned forward to press soft kisses to their cheeks, finally pulling back to look at them again. “Thank you… So much…”
Chapter 13: 2U
Summary:
Taehyung is confused when neither of the boys say Happy Anniversary
Chapter Text
Day 13 - Anniversary
Taehyung wasn’t sure what he was expecting on his 3-year anniversary with the boys, but this definitely wasn’t it.
And by this, he meant nothing at all.
He’d waited all day for Jungkook or Hoseok to say Happy Anniversary, but he got nothing. Not even when he basically handed it to them.
“Shit, I just realized what day it is!” Taehyung exclaimed dramatically as he stared at the calendar. Jungkook glanced over at him and then at the calendar as well.
“Monday?” He said hesitantly, frowning as he looked at Taehyung. The Puppy sighed as he shook his head and walked out of the kitchen just in time to watch Hoseok pulling his shoes on by the door.
“Where are you going, Hobi-hyung?” Taehyung asked, walking closer to the older.
“I’ve gotta get to work, Taehyungie,” Hoseok smiled as he stood properly and pressed a kiss to Taehyung’s head.
“Even today…?” He whispered, looking at his Hyung, grasping the boys sleeve tightly, hoping it would give him a hint.
“Um, yes…? It’s Monday, Tae. I always work on Mondays,” Hoseok sounded genuinely confused as he stared at the younger, head tipped to the side.
Taehyung remained silent as he stepped back, swallowing thickly before shaking his head.
“Nevermind…” Taehyung gave Hoseok a smile, much to forced for his liking. “Have a good day at work, Hyung…”
Taehyung saw Hoseok glance up at Jungkook for a moment before he stepped outside, closing the door behind him.
“Hyung, what’s up?” Jungkook asked softly, walking toward Taehyung, reaching out to pull him close. Taehyung, however, wasn’t having it. Side stepping, Taehyung crossed his arms, pulling his cardigan tight around his body as he walked toward the back door.
“I just want to be alone for a bit, okay?” There was no answer, but Taehyung didn’t wait too long before he stepped onto the back deck, sliding the door shut behind him.
It was already evening, the sky ranging from yellow to red as the sun was getting ready to set. Taehyung stared up at the sky for a few minutes, forcing back the tears that threatened to fall as he walked down the steps, his bare feet touching the cool grass. Despite being a sunny day, it had been windy and a bit cold.
He wasn’t sure how long he sat outside before he pulled out his phone and video called Jimin, staring at the picture of him and his best friend on screen. When Jimin answered, he was holding a baby against his chest, rocking from side to side.
“TaeTae! Why are you calling me? Shouldn’t you be spending the day with the boys?” Jimin asked, the camera shifting a bit before the Hybrid sat down on the couch, propping his phone up on the table so he could hold the baby properly.
Taehyung wasn’t sure how to answer, leaning his cheek against his palm, a soft sigh leaving his lips.
“I don’t… Jimin, do you think they still…” The words felt heavy on his tongue, hard to get out. But he had to know. “Do you think they still love me?”
Taehyung couldn’t bring himself to look at his phone, the stunned silence telling him what Jimin thought.
“Why would you think that, Tae?” Jimin asked softly, bringing Taehyung to actually look at his friend. Jimin was looking away from the phone for a moment, holding out the small Puppy Hybrid he was holding to who Taehyung assumed was Yoongi.
“They forgot, Jimin. Neither of them knows what today is,” Taehyung’s voice trembled, a hand lifting to cover his mouth, the tears finally falling, rolling down his pink cheeks.
He could hear a bit of background noise from the phone, but Jimin didn’t speak. He didn’t seem to know what to say.
“I’ve tried hinting at it, but they don’t remember… Am I…? Do they…?” Taehyung wasn’t sure what he was trying to say, hiccupping in between words, head tipped back as he tried to stop his tears. “Jimin, what if they don’t want me anymore?”
“Don’t say that, TaeTae…” Jimin whispered, his voice thick with emotion, Taehyung easily knowing Jimin was close to crying as well. “They do love you, I know it.”
Taehyung wasn’t sure what to say, lifting a hand to wipe at his tears, though more immediately fell from his eyes.
“Tae…” Jimin seemed like he was going to continue but stopped when they both heard the door close behind Taehyung. Turning around, he watched as Jungkook walked down the steps, making his way out into the backyard toward his boyfriend.
“I’ll talk to you later, Chim…” Taehyung whispered, blowing a quick kiss before he hung up the call, rubbing at his face quickly, hoping he looked a bit better.
“Hey, Babe… You’ve been out here a while. Is everything okay?” Jungkook asked as he made his way to Taehyung, stopping when the Puppy looked up at him. “Holy shit… Taehyung…”
“I’m okay, Kookie… I was just talking with Jimin,” Taehyung stopped Jungkook from saying more as he stood up, brushing off his pants. Jungkook looked as if he wanted to speak but stopped when his phone started buzzing.
Jungkook stared at the device for a moment before he answered, chewing on one of his nails as he listened to the call.
“Okay, we’ll be right over,” Jungkook murmured, hanging up the call before he looked at Taehyung. “Hyung wants us to come to the studio. It’s important.”
Taehyung’s blood ran cold as he stared at Jungkook, his lips parting. Is this it…? Are they leaving me…? He couldn’t help but think of the worst-case scenario.
“Come on, Tae… I’ll drive,” Jungkook whispered as he reached out a hand to gently holding Taehyung’s, gently pulling on his arm. Taehyung followed him without a word, feeling a bit dizzy as he slipped into the car, his vision blurring. He could feel the burn of more tears as they drove, the entire ride there seeming so unreal.
Before he knew it, Taehyung was following Jungkook down the hall to Hoseok’s studio, his feet dragging on the floor.
Finally, he stopped, unable to hold back the tears as he stared at Jungkook’s back. He wanted to step forward and hug his boyfriend, but he stopped himself.
“Jungkook…” Taehyung’s voice was barely above a whisper, trembling as he hugged himself. The Bunny stopped and looked at Taehyung, a frown on his lips. They simply stared at each other for a moment before Jungkook looked toward the studio door before turning his eyes back.
“Taehyung, let’s just… Get to the studio, okay?” Jungkook suggested, almost sounding desperate.
“Jungkook… You still love me, right?” Taehyung stepped forward as he looked at Jungkook, eyes pleading. When Jungkook’s eyes widened as he didn’t respond, Taehyung felt sick. “Please… Tell me I’m wrong… Please tell me you’re not getting rid of me…”
Before he knew it, Jungkook was wrapping his arms around Taehyung, hugging him close to his chest. His breath was shaky against Taehyung’s neck as he curled his fingers into the older boy’s shirt.
“You’re so fucking wrong, Taehyung… Come on… Let’s get to the studio, okay? It’s really important…” Jungkook stepped back and started pulling Taehyung to the studio, the door opening as they got closer.
“Oh, thank god you made it!” Hoseok smiled brightly as he looked at Jungkook, his eyes then turning to Taehyung. Once he finally saw the Puppy, his smile disappeared, and he stepped into the hallway. “Holy shit… Okay, come in…”
Once the door was closed behind them, Hoseok took Taehyung’s face in his hands and pressed a kiss to his forehead.
“Taebaby… Don’t cry, Sweetie…” Hoseok’s voice was always so soothing, a comfort to Taehyung. He felt himself relaxing a bit at the older’s touch. “Look, we have something really important for you, okay?”
Taehyung whined when Hoseok let go, walking over to the computer. Jungkook was quick to take the eldest’s place, arms wrapped around Taehyung’s waist, resting his chin on his shoulder.
Soft kisses were pressed to Taehyung’s shoulder as soft music began playing through the speakers in the room.
“Jungkook and I have been working on this for a while now… We wanted to surprise you with it and… I guess acting like we didn’t know today was our Anniversary was a mistake.” Taehyung let out a loud sigh when Hoseok mentioned their anniversary, relief coursing through him that they hadn’t forgotten.
He opened his mouth to respond but stopped when he heard the oh so familiar voice of Jungkook playing through the speakers, soft piano backing up his beautiful vocals.
No limit in the sky that I won’t fly for you
No amount of tears in my eyes that I won’t cry for you
Oh no
With every breath that I take
I want you to share that air with me
There’s no promise that I won’t keep
I’d climb a mountain, there’s none too steep.
When it comes to you
There’s no crime
Let’s take both of our souls
And intertwine
Taehyung’s lips parted as he lifted his hands to his mouth, muffling the soft sob that left his lips as he lowered his head, listening to the sweet words play through the room.
“Baby, don’t cry… Please…” Jungkook whispered as he gently turned Taehyung around to look at him, his hand lifting to wipe away a few tears form Taehyung’s cheek. “I love you so much, Taehyung. You came into my life three years ago and I have only fallen for you more and more in that time. Happy Anniversary, My Sweet Taehyung…”
Hoseok stood up and walked over to the pair, wrapping his arms around the Puppy, resting his forehead against Taehyung’s back, gently kissing Taehyung’s neck.
“When Jin called me three years ago, I was so unsure about getting a second Hybrid. I didn’t know if I could handle it, but I have not had a single regret since I brought you into our lives. You are so fucking important to me. To us,” Hoseok turned Taehyung to look at him and he gently cupped the boys cheeks, a smile on his lips. “I love you, Taehyung. Happy Anniverary.”
Chapter 14: Mint Chocolate Chip
Summary:
Jimin's noticed something off with Taehyung
Chapter Text
Day 14 - Best Friend
Jimin wasn’t sure if he was the only one to notice anything different with Taehyung recently, but something really seemed to be off.
Like when the went to the mall and Taehyung had tried on a pair of acid-washed jeans he thought were cute. Despite being Taehyung’s normal size, they wouldn’t do up around his waist, being quite a bit too small.
Normally when this would happen, Taehyung would shrug it off and say he probably gained weight.
Not stare at himself in the mirror as he began to sob.
No, that wasn’t something Taehyung would normally do, but something seemed to be off lately.
Like right at that moment, in the ice cream shop. Jimin was looking over all the flavours on display, humming softly to himself.
Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook would come here a lot since this was one of the Hybrid Friendly shops, one where they could come without their owners and not be kicked out.
And every time, Taehyung would order cookie dough ice cream in a waffle cone. Every time for the past 2 years.
“The mint chocolate chip is like… Calling me right now,” Taehyung murmured as he pressed his hands to the glass, licking his lips. Jimin just stared at him, eyes wide.
“What about cookie dough?” Jimin asked, puzzled as to what changed to suddenly. Taehyung simply shook his head, staring at the mint ice cream. He didn’t wait another moment before he walked up to the register and pointed at the ice cream.
“I’d like a mint chocolate chip ice cream in the biggest size you have, please,” Taehyung smiled politely at the young man behind the counter.
“Our biggest size is a three scoop. Is that alright?” The boy walked over to the ice cream and pulled out a bowl for the dessert.
“Hmm… If I pay for three of the three scoops, can I get nine scoops?” Taehyung asked as if it were something normal. The boy looked surprised before he slowly nodded.
“I, um… I guess we can do that, yes.”
Taehyung nodded and watched as the employee began scooping the excessive amount of ice cream into the bowl.
“What do you have for toppings?” Taehyung piped in, looking over at the toppings bar. This was also something Taehyung never did. Get toppings on his ice cream. He once told Jimin that he ‘likes his ice cream pure and untouched’.
The employee looked ready to answer but didn’t say anything when Taehyung walked over to the toppings bar, looking over everything.
“Pickles sound like they might taste good with mint. Do you have pickles?” Taehyung looked over his shoulder at the boy, not seeming to notice the face of pure horror staring back at him.
This was when Jimin smiled, something clicking in his mind.
“I don’t think they do, Taehyung. But there’s some back at Daddy’s house,” Jimin suggested, receiving a nod from the Puppy before he turned back to the toppings, murmuring about how he should get some strawberries as well.
Jimin just stared at his friend’s back for a moment before he turned back to the young boy behind the counter who was still staring at Taehyung.
“Don’t mind him,” Jimin hummed, a fond smile spreading over his lips when he looked back at Taehyung. “I got some pretty bad cravings when I was pregnant too.”
Chapter 15: Test
Summary:
Taehyung is scared to believe what he's seeing
Chapter Text
Day 15 - Truth
When Jimin had talked to Taehyung after getting ice cream, explaining that these cravings and mood swings were probably caused by pregnancy, he didn’t believe a word of it.
A whole year had been spent trying to get pregnant, always ending in failure. Taehyung had begun to lose hope, until he finally went to the vet to get checked out.
When Taehyung heard he was barren for the first time, he didn’t cry. He just felt numb, having it laid right in front of him.
He didn’t cry until he got home, when he realized that he would have to tell Jungkook. He broke down, curled up on their bed and wept for hours.
So, no, Taehyung didn’t believe he was pregnant.
Yet there was so much evidence, he began to doubt himself.
And that’s how he ended up leaning against the bathroom counter, staring down at the two pink lines on the pregnancy test, indicating he’d tested positive.
If he felt numb before, he wasn’t sure what he was feeling now. It didn’t feel real. He felt like he was floating.
He felt dizzy as he walked downstairs to where Jungkook and Hoseok were in the living room, reading to Daejung. They both looked up when Taehyung stepped into the doorway, still unable to pull his eyes from the test in his hands.
“Taebaby, what’s up?” Hoseok asked softly as he stood up, walking toward his boyfriend, eyes glancing down to the test in his hands. “What’s that?”
Taehyung wasn’t sure what to expect when Hoseok leaned over to look at the object in his hands. He didn’t expect pure silence though.
“What is it, Hyung?” Jungkook asked from the couch, holding Daejung in his lap. This was when Hoseok lifted his head and looked at Taehyung, eyes wide.
“Are you… Are you for real…?” Hoseok whispered, reaching up to hold Taehyung’s face in his hands, lifting his head so they could look at each other.
“I… Don’t know… I tested it twice and both turned out the same,” Taehyung whispered, his voice trembling as he felt tears well up in his eyes. “I’m scared to get my hopes up…”
“What’s going on?” Jungkook set Daejung down on the couch as he walked over, lower lip pulled between his teeth.
“I… I think I might be pregnant,” Taehyung finally whispered, finally letting his mouth form a boxy smile, tears rolling down his cheeks as he tipped his head back. “I might… I might be pregnant…”
Silence filled the room for a moment before Jungkook let out a loud giggle, a couple steps bringing him to Taehyung where he wrapped his arms tightly around the Puppy, lifting him off the ground and spinning around. Taehyung laughed as he held onto his boyfriend tightly, head lowered to Jungkook’s neck.
“This is amazing, Taehyung…” Jungkook whispered, his voice thick with emotion as he set Taehyung down again, pulling back to look at him. He looked so close to tears and he cupped Taehyung’s face, pulling him into a soft, slow kiss. “I’m so happy, Taehyung…”
They simply stared at each other for a moment before there was a soft tugging at Taehyung’s pants. He looked down to see Daejung holding onto his and Jungkook’s pants, his ears laid back against his head.
“Daddy… Appa… You aren’t going to get rid of my because you’ll have a baby, right?” Daejung’s voice was soft, a scared tone that made Taehyung’s chest hurt. Kneeling down, Taehyung pulled Daejung into a tight hug, the small boy holding onto his dad’s shirt tightly.
“Of course not, My Sweet Baby… You’ll just have a little sibling…” Taehyung whispered as he pressed a soft kiss to Daejung’s head. “You will always be our son… But now… We can have a big family.”
Chapter 16: Pride
Summary:
The boys go to a pride parade
Chapter Text
Day 16 - Parade
Yoongi had been to Pride Parades a few times in his life. And by a few he means he’s gone every year for the past ten years.
It started with sneaking out of the house when he was fifteen to see what the music was down the street. Then two years later, when Yoongi finally figured out who he was, he ordered a Bisexual flag online and brought it with him, wearing it proudly as a cape.
And now, at 25, he walked up to where the parade was starting, holding Jimin’s hand in his own. He couldn’t hold back the gummy smile when he saw how much the parade had grown in the past year.
Yoongi still had that same flag tied around his neck, the worn material flowing behind him as he walked, looking at Jimin next to him as the younger boy pushed the stroller with the twins. The Puppy’s tail was wagging wildly behind him as he looked around, eyes wide. This was the first year Yoongi had come with Jimin, but the Hybrid seemed to be waiting for this day, seeing as he pulled out a rainbow, sequin jacket from his closet, pulling it on over a plain white shirt. He’d completed the look with some very short-shorts and rainbow thigh highs.
They’d draped a rainbow flag over Jiu and Jiyeong for a blanket, the two boys snuggled close to each other. Yoongi was surprised that they were sleeping so soundly with all the noise, but at the same time, those two seemed to take a lot after him, with how long they could sleep for.
“Stay close to me, okay?” Yoongi smiled as he pressed a kiss to Jimin’s cheek, wrapping an arm around the boy’s waist. Jimin giggled as he pressed close to Yoongi’s side, gently nuzzling his boyfriend’s neck.
“Don’t worry,” Jimin whispered, rubbing a hand over Yoongi’s back as they stopped off to the side, waiting for the others to show up.
It didn’t take long before Taehyung skipped over to them, a rainbow crop top barely covering anything with how it seemed to blow around easily. He giggled as he threw his arms around Jimin, pressing a kiss to his friend’s cheek.
“TaeTae! I love your makeup!” Jimin exclaimed as Taehyung smiled, tilting his head from side to side so his rainbow highlighter would shine in the sunlight.
“Thank you, thank you!” The Puppy smiled before he looked over his shoulder. “You should see Hoseokie! He looks amazing!”
Yoongi glanced over Taehyung’s shoulder, blinking wide eyes as Jungkook and Hoseok walked up. Jungkook was wearing a muscle shirt that matched Taehyung’s crop top.
But what caught Yoongi’s eye was Hoseok.
Every year, Hoseok would come to pride with Yoongi and just wear one of his ace hoodies, nothing too eye catching.
But there was Hoseok, walking toward them, hand in hand with Daejung, an Asexual flag blowing behind him much like Yoongi’s, the Ace colours painted across his cheeks.
The outfit was a lot more out there than Yoongi had ever seen him wear, something that spread a warm feeling through his heart.
“You look good, Hoseok,” Yoongi smiled as the trio reached them, Daejung pressing close to his father’s leg, tail flicking wildly behind him.
“Thanks, I figured I’d-”
“Sup, Bitches!” A loud voice cut off Hoseok, turning everyone’s attention to the figure walking toward them.
At first, Yoongi was confused as to why a random Drag Queen was talking toward them so familiarly, as if they knew each other.
But then he noticed the oddly broad shoulders and extremely tiny waist.
And Namjoon walking close behind the tall figure.
And then it clicked.
Gold dress glittering in the sunlight, Jin walked over to them confidently, probably a foot taller than Yoongi with the heels he was wearing. Curly, black hair was swept over one of his shoulders as Jin stopped next to them, hand on his hip as he looked down at the rest of them. A smirk pulled at Jin’s glossy, red lips as he bat his very obviously fake eyelashes.
“Ready to rock this Parade?”
Chapter 17: Youth
Summary:
Taehyung likes snacks before bed and Jungkook joins him
Chapter Text
Day 17 - Dance
Taehyung always had the habit of getting a snack before bed, sitting alone in the kitchen, late at night, the only light in the room from the moon through the windows. Soft music played from his phone as Taehyung picked at the blueberries he’d pulled out.
Normally, Taehyung would be there for a while, alone, but something had been different for the past few nights.
Specifically after Taehyung told Jungkook and Hoseok that he was pregnant.
Jungkook sat down across from Taehyung, leaning his head against the palm of his hand, smiling softly.
“What are you doing?” Taehyung asked with a smile, feeling his cheeks heat up as Jungkook stared at him. The Bunny smiled as he took Taehyung’s phone, unlocking it and scrolling through it for a moment.
Confused, Taehyung just watched him, leaning forward to try and see what Jungkook was looking for. He wasn’t able to catch a glimpse before Jungkook shut off the screen and set the phone down, a new song playing through the room, a bit louder than it was before.
“Youth?” Taehyung laughed softly, recognizing the Troye Sivan song easily. Jungkook just smiled and stood up, walking toward Taehyung and holding out his hand. For a moment, Taehyung wasn’t sure what he wanted until it clicked.
“Do you remember the night I asked you to be mine?” Jungkook said softly as Taehyung took his hand, standing up from his seat, following Jungkook as the younger backed up a bit.
“We stayed up until two in the morning dancing together,” Taehyung whispered as he stepped closer, linking his arms around Jungkook’s shoulders, smiling at him softly.
“Right here, three years ago,” Jungkook responded, arms wrapping around Taehyung’s waist as he pulled him closer, leaning down to press a kiss to the Puppy’s shoulder, the skin exposed where his sweater slipped down. “We were so young…”
“We still are young, Jungkook. You, like, just turned 21,” Taehyung laughed softly as he smacked the back of Jungkook’s head gently. The younger laughed as they began to sway to the music, pulling back enough to look at Taehyung, eyes soft. After a moment of just staring, Jungkook leaned down and pressed a kiss to his boyfriend’s forehead, humming softly.
“I love you, Taehyung…” He whispered, leaning their foreheads together as they continued to dance under the moonlight. “My Sweet Taehyung…”
Chapter 18: Hearts
Summary:
Daejung wants to give Bambi a gift, but he needs a bit of help
Chapter Text
Day 18 - Shapes
“Daddy, I need your help,” a soft voice spoke next to Taehyung, pulling the boy from his afternoon nap. The Puppy yawned and blinked open his eyes before rolling onto his side to find Daejung holding his arm gently, his milky blue eyes lidded.
“Sure, baby. What do you need?” Taehyung murmured as he brushed a large hand over Daejung’s curly, black hair, a small rumbling coming from the boy’s throat as he leaned closer to the touch.
“Bambi is coming over and I want to do something for him,” Daejung whispered, kneeling down next to the couch. Taehyung sat up properly and pulled Daejung onto his lap, the Kitten’s fluffy tail swaying slightly as he held onto his father. “I wanted to draw him something.”
Taehyung was silent for a moment, staring down at his son before he gave a small smile, pressing a kiss to Daejung’s head.
“Okay, what were you thinking?” Taehyung asked, rubbing the boys back gently. Since Daejung was born blind, he’d never had the chance to learn to write or draw, but Taehyung wasn’t going to stop him if he wanted to learn. He knew things like this would be harder to teach, but he’d be willing to do it.
Especially since he knew how much Daejung cared for Bambi and vise versa.
“Bambi craved a shape in a tree once and said it was a heart. I want to do that,” Daejung murmured, looking at Taehyung. “I remember what it feels like, but I need help putting it on paper.”
“Of course, Sweetie. Let’s go to the dining room. I’ll get some markers.”
An hour later, Taehyung leaned against the kitchen counter, watching out the window as Daejung sat on the deck, tail twitching nervously. He held the messy heart drawing close to his chest as he waited for Bambi to show up.
Taehyung knew the heart wasn’t the best drawing, but they had limited time and he also knew Bambi wouldn’t mind, seeing as this was Daejung’s first time ever drawing anything.
When the small Deer walked from the edge of the forest, Taehyung watched Daejung’s ears perk up, his small hands holding the paper tighter.
Bambi noticed Daejung, a smile spreading over his face as he skipped over, his small hooves clicking against the wooden deck. He hugged Daejung tightly, his little ears flicking as he pulled back.
Taehyung couldn’t hear their voices, but he watched Daejung stutter out something as he held out the slightly crumpled drawing, his pale cheeks heating up.
Bambi wasn’t much better as he stared at the paper, his cheeks a bright red and he gently took it, hugging it close to his chest, his eyes wide.
“What are you doing?” Taehyung glanced over his shoulder at Jungkook, the Bunny coming over to see what Taehyung was watching.
“I’m pretty sure Daejung is trying to court Bambi without realizing it. He’s got more game than me…” Taehyung giggled as he leaned back against Jungkook, strong arms wrapping around his waist.
“I mean, you won me and Hoseok over… I think you’ve got game.”
Chapter 19: Museum
Summary:
Taehyung loves museums and Jungkook loves Taehyung... especially in a choker
Chapter Text
Day 19 - Art
Taehyung had always loved museums, loved going through and rambling about each piece he recognized and simply staring and appreciating the ones he didn’t know.
Jungkook on the other hand, never really cared for museums. They were interesting, sure, but if he wanted to stare at masterpiece, he could just stare at his boyfriends.
Which he was currently doing.
Taehyung was talking to Hoseok about the painting in front of them, a wide smile on his lips. The two boys looked amazing, both dressed to kill, making Jungkook look like a mess in his white shirt and ripped jeans.
He could not be happier to be here with them.
But, fuck… Taehyung in a choker was doing things to him.
“You know, Jungkook. The artwork is on the walls,” Taehyung’s giggling pulled Jungkook from his thoughts, the Bunny blinking wide eyes at his boyfriend. Hoseok was smiling widely, his eyes pushed into crescents. “So maybe stop staring at me, and look at the art.”
Jungkook was silent for a moment before he cleared his throat, quickly coming up with something to say to get him out of this situation.
And maybe into another one that involves Taehyung up against the wall.
Oh shit, that’s good.
“But, Tae… You’re a fucking masterpiece… Does that mean I can pin you against the wall and admire how you look?” Jungkook gave himself a mental high five as Taehyung blushed a bright red, looking around them quickly.
“Jungkook! You can’t just say stuff like that!” Taehyung whisper-screamed before he scratched the back of his neck. “But… Yes… Yes, you can…”
Jungkook heard Hoseok snort before he started walking away, stopping for a moment to lean close to Jungkook’s ear.
“If you go down that hallway, there’s a section that no one really goes to,” Hoseok murmured, pointing over his shoulder at a hall that seemed to be empty. Taehyung squeaked and slapped Hoseok’s shoulder before their owner wandered off on his own, leaving Jungkook to turn to Taehyung with a smirk.
“Come on, baby. Let’s go down that way. I have a work of art I want to see…”
Chapter 20: Lost
Summary:
Daejung wants to go see Bambi
Chapter Text
Day 20 - Wilderness
Daejung had never gone out to find Bambi before. He’d only ever sat on the porch and waited for Bambi to come to his house.
He wasn’t exactly sure what made him want to go out into the forest now, but somehow, he found himself closing the back door quietly behind him, the only sound being a soft click. Daejung’s ears perked as he made his way down the steps slowly, feeling in front of him with his foot before stepping down the stairs.
It wasn’t long before he reached the edge of the woods, ears twitching at all the sounds that surrounded him, buzzing of insects, birds chirping, leaves rustling. A lot of sounds that he’d never heard before as well.
He was scared and for a moment, he considered going back to the house, acting like he’d never left, but he really wanted to find Bambi and surprise him. The Deer always spoke so fondly of the forest, about all the stuff he did out here. Daejung wanted to experience it as well.
Nodding to himself, Daejung sniffed the air as he stepped a bit further into the trees, hoping to catch the faint scent of Bambi from his visit the day before. At first there was nothing, but soon enough, he caught a soft scent, one that was very familiar.
Daejung kept his hands out as he walked slowly, the sound of leaves crunching under his feet echoing around him. All the sounds and scents were getting overwhelming already, Daejung was beginning to feel a bit dizzy, his head spinning. He felt around until his hand hit a tree and he was able to lean against it for a moment.
He wasn’t sure how far he’d walked, probably not that much, but he realized that he had a whole other issue.
He wasn’t sure how to get back.
A whimper left Daejung’s lips as his tail flicked behind him. He tried to calm himself a bit as he sniffed the air, catching the stronger scent of Bambi nearby.
“B-Bambi…? Bambi?” Daejung called weakly, pressing his back to the tree as he let out a soft sob. “Bambi, help me! I don’t know where I am!”
There was no response, no unusual movements around him and no new scents. He was alone, there was no one coming to get him.
Daejung finally broke at this realization, his head tipping back against the tree as he whined, tears rolling down his cheeks. He couldn’t tell which way was home anymore. He felt so lost.
“Daejung!” A high-pitched voice exclaimed, startling the Kitten as he sat up quickly, ears flicking around to the sound. “What are you doing out here?!”
He recognized Bambi’s voice easily, the Deer trotting over to him and kneeling down. Daejung was quick to wrap his arms around Bambi, pressing his face to the boy’s neck.
“I was so scared… I wanted to see you, but I got lost and I’m so happy you’re here…” Daejung whimpered as he shifted a bit, pressing a kiss to the Deer’s cheek, grasping tightly onto the boy’s soft sweater.
“Please… Can you help me get home, Bambi…?” Daejung pulled back a bit, one of his hands lifting until he could feel Bambi’s jaw.
“Okay… And I’ll stay for a bit, okay? Just promise you’ll never come out here alone, again.”
Chapter 21: Je T'aime
Summary:
Namjoon isn't sure what Jin is planning, and he's a bit scared
Chapter Text
Day 21 - Language
Namjoon knew Jin was up to something the minute he came over and claimed he was making spaghetti, a look of pure determination on his face.
That’s how Namjoon ended up sitting across of Jin, candles lit and spaghetti on their plates. Jin still had that same look of determination as he looked at Namjoon, eyes narrowed slightly. It had gone on for long enough that Namjoon was starting to get a bit uncomfortable, shifting in his seat.
“Is there… Something on my face…?” Namjoon murmured, picking up his napkin to dab at his cheeks, hoping that wasn’t it.
“No. But I have something I want to tell you,” Jin responded, eyebrows pulled together as he cleared his throat, rolling out his shoulder. Namjoon watched as Jin glanced down at the palm of his hand for a moment before returning his gaze to Namjoon. “Okay… Um…”
“Jin, what’s going on?” Namjoon asked hesitantly, biting at his lower lip. He was a bit worried. Maybe this was Jin breaking up with him.
He doesn’t know how he’d handle that.
“Okay… Um… Fuck… Imma just do it, okay?” Jin didn’t wait for Namjoon to respond before he made very intense eye contact and leaned on the table. “Je, um… Je aime… tu…? I think I said that right?”
Namjoon was quiet for a moment, staring at Jin with wide eyes.
“Did you just try saying you love me? In French?” Namjoon asked softly. He didn’t know much French, but he knew enough to notice the terrible grammar and well as horrible pronunciation.
“Y-yes...?” Jin murmured, looking at Namjoon nervously. The younger snorted before he threw his head back, unable to hold back the hysterical laugh he’d been holding in. Jin’s eyes widened, and he stood up quickly.
“You might want to find somewhere new to learn French cause that was fucking terrible!” Namjoon laughed, wiping a few tears from his eyes. Jin scoffed and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Excuse me! I come over here, make you a nice, French meal and confess my love to you and you laugh at me?!” Jin exclaimed, eyes wide as he gestured to the table. This only brought on another round of laughter from Namjoon, the boy practically falling out his seat.
Once he was able to calm himself a bit, Namjoon wiped a hand over his cheek as he stared up at Jin, eyes soft.
“Je t’aime, Seokjin,” Namjoon breathed, a smile on his lips, showing off the dimples on his cheeks. “Oh, and by the way… Spaghetti is Italian, not French.”
That was all it took before Namjoon got a plate of spaghetti in the face, Jin laughing happy.
Chapter 22: I'm so Happy
Summary:
While out for dinner with everyone, something seems off with Jungkook
Chapter Text
Day 22 - Tears
Yoongi was always pretty good at reading Jungkook’s face, but right now, he couldn’t tell what the youngest was thinking.
They’d all gone out to eat, and it wasn’t surprising that they were the loudest fucking table in the restaurant, not with Hoseok and Taehyung at the table.
Taehyung was currently reaching across the table, laughing hysterically as he stuck a French fry up Namjoon’s nose, ketchup smearing his face. The Gecko pulled his head back sharply before he grabbed one of the ketchup bottles and squirted the red liquid across Taehyung’s face, a bit flying past him to hit Hoseok it the face.
And normally, Jungkook would join in on the shenanigans, playing around with Taehyung. Yet he was completely silent, face unreadable as he watched the scene in front of him.
Then Yoongi noticed the tears slowly rolling down his cheeks.
“Kook-ah!” He exclaimed, startling Jimin next to him as he stood up, quickly to make his way over to the youngest. The noise stopped at their table as Yoongi knelt down and took Jungkook’s face in his hands, eyebrows pulled together. “What’s wrong, kid? Are you okay?”
Jungkook just stared at him for a moment before he let out a soft sob, tipping his head back to look at the ceiling.
“I’m so happy…” Jungkook whined, turning his gaze back to Yoongi and gently brushing his fingers across the older boy’s jaw. “I’m so happy that I have… all of you here…”
“Kookie…” Taehyung whispered as he gently rubbed Jungkook’s thigh. “Hey, don’t cry…”
Yoongi could feel tears welling in his own eyes as he stared at Jungkook, watching the youngest sob softly, dabbing at his eyes with his sleeve.
When Yoongi stood up, Jungkook watched him with those big, teary eyes, his cheeks a soft pink. Stepping forward, Yoongi wrapped his arms around the Bunny, lowering his head to kiss Jungkook’s forehead.
“We love you… so much, Jungkook…” Yoongi whispered, his voice cracking as tears finally fell from his eyes. “I’m so happy you’re here, Jungkook…”
Chapter 23: Come Dance with Me
Summary:
Jimin won't stop whining while at the club with Yoongi
Chapter Text
Day 23 - Club
Yoongi wasn’t one to go out to the club much, too many people, it was always hot, and it was way too loud. He never liked it much, even in College when he ended up going a lot, mostly for the drinks.
Yet here he was, leaning up against the wall next to Hoseok, a drink in his hand as he watched the rest of their friends.
Namjoon was sitting down with Jin, trying to act like he wasn’t moving closer to the older, hand brushing over his thigh as he leaned in to whisper something, finger tapping against his drink. Jin seemed to be well aware that Namjoon was trying to take him home with him but didn’t seem to mind all that much.
Yoongi turned his gaze to the dance floor where he could see the two youngest pressed close together. He wanted to say they were dancing, but he wasn’t too sure at this point. Their cheeks were flushed, not just from the drinks they’d had, Jungkook’s hand was finding its way up Taehyung’s shirt and what had started off as a few small pecks had turned heated really quickly.
He finally looked away when he saw Jungkook grab Taehyung’s wrist and pull him toward the bathroom’s. He looked at Hoseok who was just smiling fondly as he watched them, taking a sip from his glass.
Then there was Jimin, who was pressed close to Yoongi’s side, whining softly as he rested his chin on his boyfriend’s shoulder. Yoongi’s arm was around Jimin’s small waist, his thumb rubbing gently at the exposed skin on his side.
“What’s wrong, baby? You’ve been whining a lot tonight,” Yoongi murmured as he pressed his lips to Jimin’s head, looking down at the Hybrid. Jimin just whined again and held tighter onto Yoongi.
“Come dance with me, Hyung…” Jimin whispered, his lips pressed to Yoongi’s jaw, hand trailing over the older’s chest. “I want you… To come dance…”
Yoongi licked his lips as he looked at Jimin, eyes lidded. He was always weak when it came to Jimin, especially when the younger spoke like that, his voice heavy and needy.
“You know I don’t dance, baby,” Yoongi protested, though he knew he wasn’t going to get out of this situation unless he went with Jimin.
Which is why he didn’t fight when Jimin grabbed his hand and pulled him along to the dance floor.
“Don’t worry. Just hold onto me and I’ll do the dancing,” Jimin whispered as he spun around to wrap his arms around Yoongi’s shoulder’s, pulling Yoongi into a deep kiss, their chests pressed close.
Yoongi was already gone at this point, his hands grasping at Jimin’s hips, feeling them swaying along with the music as Jimin lowered his lips to Yoongi’s throat.
“I needed you away from them…” Jimin whispered as he lifted his gaze to Yoongi. It was only now that Yoongi noticed the pink on Jimin’s cheeks as well as his cloudy eyes. “My heat… Is coming and… I need to get out. I need you…”
Yoongi stared down at his boyfriend for a moment, his mouth dry as Jimin slowly ran his hands down Yoongi’s chest, grasping at his shirt.
“Take me home, Hyung…”
Taking his hand quickly, Yoongi pulled Jimin from the dance floor and waved at the others before making his way out of the club, quickly waving down a taxi.
“Don’t worry, baby… Hyung is here for you…”
Chapter 24: Now or Never, Hoseok
Summary:
Hoseok has a big decision to make
Chapter Text
Day 24 - Surprise
To say Hoseok was nervous would be an understatement. He hadn’t stopped shaking since he asked Taehyung and Jungkook to come have dinner with him on the deck.
His foot was tapping against the deck quickly as he waited for the two, dinner made and set up on the table. They had the night to themselves, since Daejung had been whining all day about seeing Uncle Yoongi.
And the timing just seemed right.
Hoseok jumped when the back door slid open, Jungkook stepping outside with a smile on his lips. He sat down next to Hoseok and leaned over to press a soft kiss to his owner’s cheek.
“Taehyung wanted to change into something cooler, he’ll be right out,” Jungkook smiled, his eyes soft as he stared at Hoseok, the older feeling his cheeks heat up the longer Jungkook looked at him. “Have I ever told you have beautiful you are, Hyung?” Jungkook whispered, gently rubbing Hoseok’s arm.
“Jungkook… What’s with this all of a sudden…?” Hoseok looked away quickly, his lower lip pushed out in a pout. Jungkook giggled as he reached down to hold Hoseok’s hand, squeezing gently.
“I just feel like I don’t tell you enough…” Jungkook hummed as he leaned back in his seat, looking up when Taehyung walked out. He’d changed from the hoodie he’d been wearing earlier into loose tank top and shorts, his hair pulled back in a headband. He smiled softly as he walked over to his boyfriends and gently kissed them both before sitting down on Hoseok’s other side.
They filled their plates, but not much talking was happening. Hoseok was pretty sure the boys could tell something was going on, from the way they kept side glancing at him.
Now or never, Hoseok…
Setting down his utensils, Hoseok looked at the two boy’s, feeling his heart fill with warmth. They both stopped eating and looked at him, confusion in their eyes.
“Look, guys… There’s something I really have to tell you. You two have been the best things to ever happen to me. You’ve made me so much happier than anything else ever could. You support and love me for who I am, and that’s not something I’ve ever really had…” Hoseok could feel his mouth getting dry, but he pushed through it, swallowing as he rubbed the back of his neck. “The years I’ve had with you guys have been the best years of my life, and I wanted to tell you guys… Thank you… And I love you. So much.”
Taehyung whined softly and smiled, tipping his head to the side. Jungkook’s eyes were wide as he watched Hoseok stand up, reaching into his pocket.
“That’s why I wanted to ask…Jungkook, Taehyung… Will you marry me?” Hoseok pulled out two rings from his pocket, smiling at the boys in front of him. Taehyung’s lips parted, a look of shock on his face.
Jungkook, on the other hand, stood up and pointed at Hoseok, a frown on his lips.
“No! You can’t steal my spotlight!” Jungkook exclaimed, eyes wide. “I was going to ask you first!” As he said it, Jungkook reached into his pocket and pulled out two rings as well, lifting his eyes to Hoseok.
Silence filled the air as Jungkook and Hoseok stared at each other, both holding two rings in their hands. They only turned their eyes away when Taehyung cleared his throat.
“I mean… I won’t object to getting a ring from each of you…” Taehyung hummed, a boxy grin on his lips. Hoseok could see there were tears in his eyes, but the wide smile told him it was from happiness. “If I have a say in this, yes… I’ll marry both of you.”
Hoseok couldn’t help but laugh at Taehyung’s words, a shaky breath leaving his lips, before he turned back to Jungkook.
“Jungkook?” He asked softly, stepping toward the youngest, the Bunny’s ears twitching as he smiled a bit.
“Of course, I’ll marry you, Hobi!” Jungkook lurched forward and wrapped his arms around Hoseok, laughing happily as he buried his face against Hoseok’s neck. “I love you… I love you so much, Hoseok…”
A smile spread over Hoseok’s lips as he stepped back, gently taking Jungkook’s hand and slipping the ring onto his finger before turning to Taehyung and doing the same.
Jungkook smiled as he gave Hoseok and Taehyung their rings as well before Taehyung walked over and pulled them all close, humming softly.
“I’m so happy… I love you guy’s so much…” Taehyung giggled, pulling back to look at both of them. There was a moment before Taehyung’s eyes widened and he looked down at his hand where the two bands from Hoseok and Jungkook sat nicely together. “I just… I just got double engaged… I have to tell Jimin!”
Jungkook laughed as Taehyung ran inside, pulling out his phone as he went. The Bunny slipped an arm around Hoseok’s waist and pulled him close, a smile on his lips.
“Hoseok… I’m so happy that you took me in… I love you,” Jungkook whispered, his voice thick with emotion as he turned to look at Hoseok, his cheeks a soft pink and his eyes watery. “I love you so much.”
Hoseok laughed softly as he reached up and took Jungkook’s face in his hands, thumbs running gently over the boy’s flushed cheeks. Leaning forward, he pressed his lips to Jungkook’s in a soft kiss, his eyes fluttering closed.
Pulling back a bit, Hoseok glanced up a Jungkook, his gaze so fond as he smiled at the Hybrid.
“I love you too, Jungkookie…”
Chapter 25: Valid pt.3
Summary:
on a lazy day, Taehyung is making plans for the wedding
Chapter Text
It had been a lazy, not much going on. Hosoek had the day off work and it seemed Taehyung had plans for their day.
Those plans involved Hoseok laying back on the couch, head resting on Jungkook’s lap as Taehyung laid across their owner’s chest, soft music playing through the living room. Daejung was laying in the armchair, napping with his fluffy tail wrapped around him. They had moved the chair specifically so the sun would be on it, making it Daejung’s favourite spot in the house.
“Hyung,” Taehyung whispered, shifting a bit so he could look down at Hoseok. The older had almost fallen asleep from Jungkook petting his hair gently, his eye cracking open a bit as Taehyung spoke. “I think I know what I want our wedding colours to be.”
Hoseok hummed softly as he lifted a hand, rubbing his eyes before blinking them open, looking at the Puppy above him. He could feel Taehyung’s tail wagging slowly, gently hitting his thigh.
“What were you thinking?” He murmured as he lifted his hand to gently brush Taehyung’s hair from his eyes, tracing his fingers slowly over the boy’s cheek. Smiling softly, Taehyung leaned forward to press their lips together in a chaste kiss, humming contently.
“I was thinking maybe white, silver, purple and black,” the Puppy giggled softly, pulling back to look at Hoseok. He could feel Jungkook laughing softly, his hand shaking a bit as he continued to pet Hoseok’s hair. It too a moment for him to understand why they thought it was so funny. But then it clicked.
The Asexual flag.
A breathless laugh left Hoseok’s lips as he wrapped his arms around Taehyung, pulling the Hybrid against his chest. He pressed a kiss to the boy’s head and couldn’t stop smiling as he hid his face against his neck.
“God, why are you so cute?” Hoseok murmured, pulling back to look at Taehyung. The Hybrid had a wide smile on his lips, his eyes soft as he gently took Hoseok’s face in his hands.
“My entire life goal is screaming to the world that you’re valid,” Taehyung giggled as he leaned down to press a kiss to Hoseok’s nose, thumbs tracing over the boy’s cheeks. Glancing up at Jungkook, he could see Jungkook nodding along with Taehyung, a smile on his lips.
Hoseok wasn’t sure how he managed to find these two Hybrid, so perfect for him.
But he couldn’t as for anything better.
Chapter 26: Fuzzy Blue Blanket
Summary:
Jimin's favourite blanket gets destroyed and he isn't sure what to do
Chapter Text
Day 26 - Blankets
Jimin couldn’t stop himself from tearing up as he stared at the torn remains of his precious blanket. When Jin had first adopted him, he’d first taken Jimin to the Hybrid store and got him a fuzzy blanket and a stuffed kitten. The kitten was sitting next to his and Yoongi’s bed.
The blanket was currently in Jimin’s hands, holes torn in the fabric, some sections torn off completely.
Jimin lifted the blanket to his face a let out a long whine, sobbing softly into the soft, blue fabric. He heard the door open behind him, his ears twitching when he recognized Yoongi’s footsteps.
“Shit, Jimin!” Yoongi hissed, hurrying over to Jimin and pulling him into a tight hug. “What’s wrong, baby boy? Why are you crying?”
Jimin pulled his face away from the blanket and hiccupped softly, turning to look at his boyfriend. Tears stained his cheeks as he looked up at Yoongi, sniffling.
“The blanket Daddy gave me… It got torn up in the dryer…” Jimin whined. They’d been having this issue for a while, their clothes coming out of the dryer torn apart. They’d tried fixing it after it ripped up one of Yoongi’s expensive sweaters, and it seemed to have worked.
That was until the blanket.
“It’s ruined now!” Jimin cried as he looked at the ripped fabric, looking up at Yoongi. The older sighed softly and gently pet Jimin’s head, his eyes sad as he looked at Jimin.
The Puppy let out a soft sigh and stepped forward, nuzzling Yoongi’s neck gently.
“Maybe it’s time to just throw it out… It is getting old…” Jimin whispered, fingers curling into the fuzzy blanket as he wrapped his arms around Yoongi, taking in his boyfriend’s calming scent.
Yoongi pressed a soft kiss to Jimin’s head before he stepped back and gently took the blanket.
“I know this must be hard, baby…” Yoongi murmured, eyes soft as he lifted Jimin’s chin gently, tipping his head. “Do you want me to do it for you?”
Jimin whined but nodded anyways, holding out the blanket in front of him, sniffling loudly.
“Just… Be quick about it…” Jimin whimpered, receiving a nod from Yoongi before the older boy took the blanket and walked from the room.
It was a few days later when Yoongi got back from the studio that he dropped a couple bags on the floor in front of Jimin. The Puppy jumped and looked at his boyfriend with wide eyes before looking down at the bags.
“What are those?” Jimin asked softly, frowning slightly. Reaching into one of the bags, Yoongi pulled out a nicely folded blanket, one that was fuzzy and a pale pink.
“I got this for you. They were out of blue ones, but I know you like pink as well, so I thought you would be okay with this,” Yoongi murmured. Jimin’s eyes were wide as he stared at the blanket, lips parted. Shock was evident on his face as he reached out with trembling hands, taking the bundle of fabric in his hands.
It felt so similar to his old one, the only difference being the colour. He could feel his lower lip wobbling as he looked up at Yoongi against, eyes shining with unshed tears.
“You… You really got this for me?” He whispered, lifting the blanket to his chest, hugging it close. He was trying so hard to hold back his tears, swallowing thickly as Yoongi smiled softly.
“Of course I got it for you. And I also have something else,” Yoongi hummed as he reached into the second bag, unwrapping something before pulling it out.
That’s when Jimin finally cried.
In his hands were two baby blankets made of a fuzzy, blue fabric.
“I brought the blanket to Hoseok and he said he couldn’t fix it. But he could make two baby blankets for the twins,” Yoongi gently set the blankets on the couch before he sat down next to Jimin, pulling the sobbing boy close to his chest. “I knew we couldn’t get rid of it… But now the boy’s have it instead…”
Chapter 27: Memory
Summary:
Hoseok wishes he could forget
Notes:
((This chapter does have implied/references to past Non-consensual sex. please don't read if that is too much for you.))
Chapter Text
There were things everyone wished they could forget.
Jin would forget what he had to do to become as famous as he is now.
Yoongi would forget when he first came to Seoul for university.
Namjoon, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook would forget their lives with their past owners.
And Hoseok would forget his ex.
But there are some things that can’t be forgotten. Some things that will always stay with someone.
And when there were dates tied to those events, things get a lot worse.
They come rushing back.
“Hyung? Are you okay?” The voice started Hoseok, his spoon dropping from his hand into his bowl of cereal. He hadn’t even taken a bite of the food and at this point, it had gotten gross and mushy.
When his eyes came back into focus, he was staring at the calendar on the wall. Jungkook and Taehyung were sitting across from him, Daejung cuddled up against the Puppy’s chest. Jungkook was looking at Hoseok, eyes full of concern.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” No, I’m not. Don’t lie to him like that. “Just a bit tired is all.” Because I couldn’t sleep last night.
“You seemed pretty restless last night. Do you know why?” Taehyung murmured as he gently bounced his leg, rocking Daejung against his chest. The Kitten was purring softly, a calming sound to Hoseok.
“I was a bit cold, that’s all…” In the middle of summer? Nice lie, Hoseok.
“Really? I was so warm last night…” Jungkook whined as he leaned his cheek against his palm, lips pushed into a pout.
“I’m gonna go shower, okay?” Hoseok murmured, quickly excusing himself. He dumped out his ruined cereal and retreated upstairs to the bathroom.
He took his time picking out a bath bomb and getting the water to the perfect temperature. He stayed in the water until the hot water turned cold and his fingers got all wrinkled. He tried to think of anything else, but all he could think of was… him.
It was always this day, every fucking year.
The thought haunted him.
The memory.
The feeling of hands against his skin and trust crumbling.
The sound of his voice screaming, pleading.
Stop.
Stop!
STOP!
Lifting himself from the bath, Hoseok wrapped a towel around his waist and looked in the mirror, lifting a hand to wipe away to the steam.
He wasn’t sure when he’d started crying, but his eyes were puffy and red, much like the colour of his cheeks.
Nine years, and not a soul knew of what happened to him that day.
Nine years and he was ready to talk.
The walk to the room felt like it took forever but also not enough time and before he knew it, he was opening the door.
Taehyung and Jungkook were curled up on the bed together, watching a video on one of their phones. They both looked up when Hoseok came in and rushed to sit up when they saw his puffy eyes. Before they could ask him what was wrong, Hoseok spoke.
“I have to tell you guys something,” He started, reaching over to their dresser and pulling out a pair of sweatpants. He pulled them on before he sat down next to his fiancés. “It’s about my ex. I’ve never told you guys about him, but… I need to talk about it.”
The Hybrid’s looked at each other for a moment before nodding slowly, turning back to Hoseok.
“It was nine years ago when I told him I was asexual…”
Hoseok told them everything and for the first time in nine years, he felt like he was finally free.
He couldn’t forget what happened nine years ago.
But he could make the effort to recover.
Chapter 28: My Hope
Summary:
Jungkook gets sappy and Hoseok doesn't know how to handle it
Chapter Text
Day 28 - Nicknames
Jungkook wasn’t one for being overly sappy. He was usually on the receiving end due to Taehyung, and he never really knew how to respond. Usually with a blush and a stuttering thank you.
But when the time felt right, he could be romantic.
It usually started with him staring at the other person.
He’d start to feel all warm and his heart would feel full. He’d find himself smiling softly and then he’d say exactly what’s on him mind.
“I don’t think I could be happier with anyone but you,” his voice was low, thick with emotion. Hoseok’s head whipped around to look at him with wide eyes, shocked from the sudden compliment.
“Wha- Why so sudden with that, Jungkook?” Hoseok breathed, eyebrows pulled together. He pulled off his headset and spun his chair around to look at Jungkook properly, frowning.
The Bunny couldn’t stop himself from smiling as he reached forward, easily grabbing Hoseok’s chair in the small studio before he rolled the older toward him. Hoseok held onto the arm rests of the chair as his eyes widened a bit, now only a few inches away from Jungkook.
The younger was not shy as he leaned forward, close enough for their noses to brush, a smile spreading across his lips.
“You make me so incredibly happy… You’re My Hope…” Jungkook giggled softly as he spoke, his nose scrunching up as he smiled. Hoseok’s cheeks were burning a bright red as he looked away, a shy smile on his lips as well.
“Why do you always surprise me with this stuff…?” He murmured before turning his gaze back to Jungkook, lifting his hands to gently brush his fingers over Jungkook’s cheeks. “Your Hope… I like that…” He murmured as he leaned forward, his lips pressing softly to Jungkook’s.
“I would have lost all hope if not for you, so yes… You’re My Hope…”
Chapter 29: Too Loud
Summary:
Daejung is scared of storms and Taehyung is scared Daejung won't need him some day
Chapter Text
Day 29 - Storms
It was past midnight when the storm started. Taehyung had been getting a glass of water when the house shook from the thunder. Not thinking much of it, he set his glass down and made his way back upstairs to bed.
Walking past Daejung’s room, Taehyung heard a soft cry of “Daddy…?”, the small voice stopping him in his tracks. He was quick to open Daejung’s door, finding a small lump on the bed where he could hear sobbing.
“Hey, baby… I’m here,” Taehyung murmured, walking over to the bed. He didn’t move the blanket, only sat down next to where Daejung was hiding, wrapping his arm around the boy. “Is it too loud for you?”
Another choked sob left Daejung as the Kitten moved his blanket, wrapping his arms around Taehyung.
Daejung had always had overly sensitive ears, even for a Kitten, and thunderstorms had never been something he handled well. Normally if I storm was supposed to come, Taehyung would tell Daejung and the boy would sleep in their room.
Today, he said he was okay, that he would try to sleep alone.
“It’s too much… I can’t…” Daejung whispered, body pressed close to Taehyung’s. His fluffy tail was tucked between his legs as he trembled, grasping at Taehyung. “It’s so loud…”
Taehyung shushed him gently, rocking the boy a bit as he stood up. Daejung wrapped his legs around Taehyung as they made their way to his parent’s room.
Jungkook and Hoseok were both awake when they came in, both looking overly tired. Probably woken by the storm as well.
Neither of them asked questions when Taehyung gently set Daejung down on the bed, climbing under the covers with them. Jungkook was already reaching into the bedside table, pulling out a pair of children’s Hybrid Headphones – ones that had ear pieces for both the human and animal ears.
Daejung tucked himself against Jungkook’s chest as his dad gently put the earbuds into the Kitten’s ears, plugging them into his phone.
“I’m gonna play the music now, okay?” Jungkook whispered gently, receiving a nod in return. They always started the music as quiet as possible, playing something soft for Daejung, normally piano arrangements that Yoongi had put together. Slowly, he turned up the sound until Daejung patted a hand against Jungkook’s chest, signalling that it was a good volume, not too loud, but still blocking out the sound around him.
They laid back and Taehyung gently leaned his head against Hoseok’s shoulder, looking across his owner’s chest at Daejung and Jungkook.
“I think… He’s worried he’s burdening us when he sleeps here,” Taehyung murmured, the house shaking from the thunder rolling outside. Jungkook turned his head to meet Taehyung’s eyes, his hands slowly rubbing against Daejung’s back. He simply nodded in return, knowing Daejung would feel if he spoke. “But I want him to know he’s not… Because one day, he’ll think he’s too old for this. I don’t want that day to come… He’ll always be my baby… I don’t want him to ever think he’s too old for us…”
Hoseok wrapped an arm around Taehyung’s waist and pulled him close, pressing a soft kiss to the younger’s forehead.
“Don’t worry… He’ll never grow too old for us…” Hoseok murmured, nuzzling Taehyung’s hair gently. The Puppy hummed before the room fell into silence, the only sound coming from the rain against the roof and soon enough, a Kitten purring softly where he laid on his father’s chest.
Chapter 30: Perfect
Summary:
Hoseok finally confronts his parents about the family gathering
Chapter Text
Day 30 - Last Goodbye
Hoseok had been waiting for weeks for his order to come in, a Gucci shirt he’d seen Taehyung looking at a few months ago. He’d saved up for it since then and finally ordered it and according to the tracking, it should be arriving today.
He was starting to get restless, waiting for the parcel to come, to the point that he was pacing back and forth in the living room. The boys had gone outside to play with Daejung for a bit, so Hoseok was all on his own in the house.
That was until Jungkook stormed inside from the backyard, his eyes perked and his eyes narrowed. Hoseok gently set his hands on Jungkook’s chest as he the younger glared at the front door, an arm wrapping around his owner’s waist.
“Whoa, Kookie… What’s wrong?” Hoseok asked quickly, staring up at his boyfriend who looked absolutely livid. Before the Bunny could answer, there was a knocking at the door behind them. Hoseok straightened and smiled, pulling himself from Jungkook’s hold to go to the door, opening it up.
What he wasn’t expecting was his parents to be standing in front of him.
They both looked beyond unhappy.
“Hoseok,” his father greeted him, stepping forward to come inside. In an instant, Jungkook was behind Hoseok again, pulling the smaller boy against his chest as he glared at the older man.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” Jungkook’s voice came out in a growl, something Hoseok hadn’t heard before. Unsure of what to do, Hoseok gently pat Jungkook’s arm and looked at the Bunny.
“It’s fine… Let’s let them in,” he murmured as he guided Jungkook to the living room, the sound of his parents following behind him.
Jungkook still didn’t settle down once they came into the living room, standing protectively next to Hoseok, a hand on his boyfriend back.
“What are you guys doing here?” Hoseok asked nervously, rubbing his arm as he looked at his parents who made themselves at home on the couch.
“We wanted to talk to you about the family gathering,” Hoseok’s mother spoke, straightening to make herself seem bigger. “We were hoping you would come apologize for the unacceptable behaviour of your pets, and you.”
Jungkook’s arm tightened around Hoseok’s waist as the older tensed a bit. He had honestly been expecting his parents to act like none of that had happened, like they normally do.
Apparently, he wasn’t so lucky this time.
“Now we’ve set up a date for you. You’ve been keeping this up far too long, Hoseok,” his father’s voice was firm as he looked at his son, disapproval in his eyes. “You can’t stay with these animals forever! And you need to stop with that asexual shit! It’s not a thing, you’re just trying to make yourself feel special!”
Hoseok flinched a bit as his father spoke, pressing closer to Jungkook’s chest. He couldn’t help it as he wrapped his arms around himself, feeling a lot smaller now.
“Hyung… You don’t have to listen to them…” Jungkook whispered in his head, nuzzling at his owner’s shoulder, fingers curling into Hoseok’s shirt. “There’s nothing wrong with you… There’s nothing wrong with being with us.”
Hoseok knew that. He knew there was nothing wrong with their relationship.
And he knew this day would come eventually, but he wasn’t expecting it so soon.
Finally gathering himself, Hoseok straightened, lifting his head to look at his parents.
“Get out of my house,” Hoseok’s words seemed to surprise his parents, their eyes widening. “Get out of my house and don’t come back. Not unless you can accept me for who I am. Not unless you accept that I love these two.”
His father stood up and stepped toward him, eyes narrowed. Hoseok didn’t step down, facing his father confidently. He could feel Jungkook’s hand resting on his back, letting him know that his boyfriend was there for him.
“You guys haven’t been there for me for years, so you can’t waltz in here and act like you own me. You don’t, and you never have. So, if you can’t deal with the life I’ve chosen for myself, then you can get out of my house and out of my life.”
Silence filled the room, the air thick with tension. Shaking his head slowly, his father turned to where his mother was still on the couch, a look of pure shock on her face.
“We’re leaving. I’d rather have no son then one that’s broken,” Hoseok’s father spoke, giving one last glace to Hoseok before he walked toward the front door, his mother following behind her husband quickly.
When the door closed, Hoseok let out a heavy sigh, leaning heavily against Jungkook, his hands shaking as he held the Bunny close.
“You did amazing, Hyung…” Jungkook whispered, rubbing his boyfriend’s back slowly, pressing a kiss to Hoseok’s head.
“Thank you… For saying there’s nothing wrong with me…”
“That’s because nothing is. You’re perfect, Hyung…”

Summary:
Bambi's last goodbye
Notes:
This chapter was written by my lovely fiancée ^^ She's the creator of Bambi and wanted to write this story to add to the last day
Chapter Text
Day 30 - Last Goodbye
Bambi had never met his father. He knew he had one, obviously, and his mother had spoken of him before, but only in strained, clipped snippets and only in response to questions asked by Bambi himself. Clearly Bambi’s father wasn’t a pleasant subject for her, though Bambi sort of doubted that he’d ever find out specifically why.
He had very, very vague memories of a man with curly hair like his own and big hands gently touching his head and not-so-gently touching his mother’s arms and face. These recollections were relatively consistent, as if persisting for a great deal of time, before they suddenly dropped off, and Bambi could remember no more about the man.
He didn’t know if he was a hybrid like himself and his mother or if he had been a human, he didn’t know why he wasn’t around anymore, and he didn’t know why his mother sometimes teared up when he was mentioned, but what he did know was that they were just fine without him.
Bambi asked about his father, but he never pressed. He had clearly done something to make Bambi’s mother upset – upset enough that even just the thought of him nearly brought her to tears – and Bambi wanted nothing to do with people like that.
There was only one seemingly insignificant fact Bambi knew about his father: he liked blueberries.
The only reason he knew this was because whenever he and his mother went out to gather little things like berries and nuts from the forest, she always sent him to gather the blueberries. When he had asked why, one day, she readily told him. After that, he didn’t wait to be told and willingly set off in search of the nearest blueberry bush.
That’s what he was doing now, his legs tucked under him as he picked fresh berries from the bush, piling them in the woven basket next to him. His mother was nearby, and they weren’t too far from their den. It was a sunny, warm day and the whole forest was alive with movements and little noises from the insects and tiny animals.
Bambi turned a plump berry over in between his index finger and thumb, a tiny smile curling up the corners of his mouth as he thought about visiting Daejung later that day.
Warm days like this were always best for visits, as Bambi really didn’t like being inside their house – or any house, for that matter – and it was difficult for Daejung to be outside when the weather was less than ideal – rain was unpleasant because of how it soaked his fur, he got cold easily and couldn’t stay out long when it was chilly, and of course below zero conditions made it much too slippery for it to be safe for him to be outside.
He was torn from his thoughts of his feline friend when his mother suddenly rushed back over to him and grabbed his arms. He let out a surprised bleat but she was quick to cover his mouth. Startled and bordering on scared, Bambi looked up at his mother. Her ears were quivering, perked toward the way from which she had just come and the fur on her legs was standing on end. Her hand was shaking.
Seconds later, Bambi heard it.
Hunters.
His heart felt like it was in his throat and his fingers were stiff.
Usually, hunters only ever came into the woods for game. Bambi and his mother stayed well out of their way and they were left alone in return – their den was relatively close to the edge of the forest so it was unlikely to be stumbled upon anyway.
But.
Every now and then, hunters came into the woods with no intent to kill moose or birds. They were searching for something much rarer and worth much more money: wild hybrids.
Wild hybrids like Bambi and his mother.
“We have to be quiet, okay Bambi?” his mother whispered. Even her voice was trembling. The way she looked down at him was terrified and desperate. She had seen the hunters. She knew what they were after. He nodded rapidly in response. “We’re going to hide in the hollow tree over there, alright?” He nodded again.
She dropped her hand from his mouth and took his tiny fingers in her own, leading him hurriedly toward the tree. It was a favourite place of Bambi’s. It felt safe.
Bambi’s mother tucked him into the hollow space in the tree first, then climbed in as well and curled herself around him. She tucked her arms around his middle and drew him tight to her. He could feel her heart pounding and knew his wasn’t much better. He felt something warm on his cheeks and realized he was crying.
“It’s okay, baby.” She pressed her lips to his temple. He shook in response. “We’re okay. They won’t find us.”
She continued to repeat hushed reassurances against his fluffy hair as they listened to the hunters. They were stomping about and grumbling to each other. There were three of them from what Bambi could hear, and they were getting closer. Bambi’s mother stopped murmuring to him and they both held their breath, hoping that the darkness of the tree’s hollow would conceal them.
“Well, would you look at that!”
Bambi yelped at the same time as his mother cried his name. There was a hand around his upper arm, gripping him hard enough to bruise immediately. He was dragged away from his mother despite her hands desperately grabbing at him, and he started crying again, this time louder. He kicked his legs and thrashed against the grip on him, his other hand reaching back. His little nails dug into the skin of the hand on him, but the hunter seemed unfazed.
“This one’s just a kid!”
Bambi was unceremoniously dropped at the feet of two of the hunters, as the third wrestled his mother from the tree.
He screamed for her, but her only response was a whine of pain as she was tossed by her hair on the ground near him. He tried to scramble over to her and was grabbed from behind before he could.
“Where’re you goin?” the hunter behind him chortled. Bambi was lifted by his arms despite his struggling, held in place by another arm around his middle. He felt sick to his stomach at the thought of these hunters touching him.
“Let him go!” his mother yelled, already on her feet again. The hunter nearest to her tried to grab onto her, but she threw her elbow back and caught the side of his face. An interesting string of expletives left him, and to Bambi’s horror he reached for the gun hanging at his side.
Bambi’s mother dove for him, her hands reaching out.
Time slowed down.
He felt his mother’s hands on his shoulders only seconds before he felt her blood splatter across his face.
Her head snapped back, body jolting with the force of the shot to her back. Then so, so slowly, she fell.
Bambi screamed.
Pain ripped through his chest, but when he looked down at himself there were no wounds on him. Tears rolled off his cheeks and chin, and he could feel how his own sobs were wracking his body. She wasn’t dead. She couldn’t be. She had promised she wouldn’t leave him alone.
His face was grabbed by the hunter beside him, and Bambi swore he saw red.
Channelling all of the viciousness inside him, he jerked his chin down and bit down as hard as he could on the skin between the hunter’s thumb and index finger. He tasted blood, and the hunter howled, yanking his hand back. Before the hunter holding him could properly react, Bambi jabbed his leg back and kicked him as hard as he could.
He was released and before the third hunter had a chance to react, he ran.
They were after him in seconds. Bambi forced himself to think through the utter agony plaguing his brain.
The look on his mother’s face as she fell was burned into his mind.
The hunters were yelling after him, and Bambi ran faster. He tried to think, think, think. He knew this forest better than them. He lived here. He knew this forest better than them.
He knew this forest better than them.
The fern.
He swerved left and made a mad dash for the den. There was a huge, sprawling fern that grew just next to the entrance. He was small enough to fit comfortably under it. Once he was close enough, Bambi dropped and slid under the big, glossy leaves. He curled into himself once he was sufficiently hidden and literally held his breath. The hunters ran right past.
After what felt like hours, tears started dripping down his cheeks again. The blood on his cheeks was still warm. His hands curled into his hair as silent sobs shook his entire body. His shoulders touched his ears and his stomach heaved.
He lurched upward just in time to empty his stomach a decent distance away from himself. His arms gave out immediately after. He buried his face into the earth and screamed again.
It was a sunny, warm day and the whole forest was echoing with the sounds of a heartbroken little deer crying for his mother.
----
It had been near impossible to keep Daejung still all day.
He had been expecting a visit from Bambi – it was nice enough out, and it had been nearly a week since the little deer had come to visit – but there had been no sign of his friend all day.
Daejung rotated between standing on his toes on the deck, nose and ears alert for any signs of Bambi to fidgeting restlessly on the couch to distracting himself with snacks for all of the afternoon and most of the evening.
Eventually, as the sun was starting to set, it became clear that his anticipation had turned into full-fledged anxiety.
Taehyung looked over the edge of the couch when he felt tiny tugs on his sleeve and found Daejung standing there, both hands gripped into Taehyung’s sweater and his head lowered, ears flat. He still wouldn’t stop moving, and was shifting from foot to foot.
“What is it, baby?” Taehyung reached down and lifted Daejung into his lap.
Daejung wasn’t shy with his feelings with the three of them, so they knew without doubt that when he felt something, he felt it in earnest. There was no pretending with Daejung. And right then Taehyung could tell, by the way he pulled on his fingers and kept shutting his eyes tight, that something was really not right.
“Did something happen?” he asked quietly. It was always better to speak softly when Daejung was upset.
“I’m worried about Bambi.”
It was only then that Taehyung took a minute to ask himself when the last time he had seen Bambi was. None of them ever really interacted with Bambi aside from greetings and other little pleasantries. They had learned the hard way that the only person Bambi softened his sharp tongue for was Daejung. If memory served right, he had last seen Bambi eight days ago. The deer boy could have visited sometime again after that and Taehyung just hadn’t been around to see it, but given Daejung’s anxious behavior he doubted that was the case.
“I’m sure he’s alright,” Taehyung soothed. “Him and his mother might just be busy, I’m sure he’ll visit when he can.” Before Taehyung was even done talking, Daejung was shaking his head almost vehemently.
“Something’s wrong.” There was a wobble in Daejung’s voice and Taehyung immediately adjusted, sitting up properly to look at his son.
“Do you know if something happened?” he asked. Evidently, Daejung wouldn’t have been able to see anything take place, but his other senses were much keener than anyone else’s. Daejung shook his head.
“I can feel it. Something’s not right.”
Taehyung chewed his bottom lip. He was never one to doubt a gut feeling, let alone one of Daejung’s.
“Alright,” he said after a beat. “Alright. Go get your coat. We’ll go to their den and see if they’re there. If they aren’t we’re coming right back home, okay? And we’ll wait for Bambi to come visit.” Once again, Daejung was a bit too eager for his own good and was already squirming to be let down as soon as he heard “coat”. Taehyung held him in place until he voiced his agreement, then let him down.
As Daejung scurried off, Taehyung stood with a sigh.
He couldn’t deny that it was a bit weird for Bambi to go so long without visiting at least once, and he really just couldn’t stand to let Daejung continue down this anxious spiral of his, so he figured a quick walk into the forest couldn’t hurt.
He was waiting by the door when Daejung came back out. He had memorized the layout of the house and needed next to no guidance when walking through it, aside from occasionally the walls for balance. He was struggling to do up the buttons on his jacket, and once he got close enough Taehyung crouched down and fixed them for him.
“Alright, come on.” He stood properly and held Daejung’s hand in his own. “It’s getting dark, so we can’t be too long, okay?” Daejung nodded firmly.
Taehyung felt his heart swell with warmth at just how much Daejung cared for Bambi.
The walk through the backyard was uneventful until they were about halfway down the little path that led to Bambi’s den – the deer’s repeated treks to and from the house and carved out a little walkway through the undergrowth.
Once they reached the halfway mark of the path – a hollow tree – Daejung abruptly stopped, and his free hand slapped over his face. Seconds later, Taehyung realized why and covered his own mouth and nose as quickly as he could.
The smell coming from further into the forest was, in the simplest of terms, repulsive. It was warm and heady, and so thick that Taehyung didn’t think he’d be able to escape it even if he turned around and went back to the house. It made his stomach clench almost immediately, and the rest of his body heaved after a second too. He had never smelled this before – although, granted, he had never been this far into the forest before so he had no idea if there was an actual explanation for it or not.
They kept walking in silence, each trying to just keep their stomachs calm, until they reached the den.
It was empty.
Taehyung felt Daejung’s hand shake and was about to kneel down to reassure him that Bambi was probably just out somewhere with his mother when the kitten stiffened next to him, and his head whipped around to stare blindly past Taehyung. He frowned down at his son.
“What is it?”
Daejung said nothing, just pointed in the direction he was facing. His ears were trembling and pointed stiffly in the same way, so Taehyung figured he could assume Daejung had heard something telltale from that direction.
He took Daejung’s hand again and started walking toward where he had gestured, keeping on high alert for anything out of the ordinary. They still didn’t have an explanation for the disgusting smell, after all.
What he found answered his current questions and simultaneously raised many new ones.
It also made the queasiness in his stomach double.
Bambi, his skin ashen and his fur dull but visibly breathing – thank God – was passed out against the corpse of his mother.
She was very obviously dead; if the blood covering them both wasn’t enough, the hole in her chest definitely was.
Taehyung immediately turned and knelt in front of Daejung, blocking the scene with his body even if Daejung wouldn’t have been able to see it anyway. He put his hands on either side of Daejung’s face and opened his mouth, but no words came out. What was he supposed to say? How the hell was he going to explain this?
“What’s wrong?” Daejung asked. His voice was so, so small. “I heard noises coming from here. It sounded like crying.”
Taehyung breathed out harshly through his nose and felt his eyes sting.
“Daejung…Bambi’s mother is dead.”
Immediately, Daejung surged against the hold on him and Taehyung wrapped his arms around his son’s body, holding him as tightly as he could without hurting him. The sounds Daejung made were attempts at sentences, at words, but they were all jumbled and confused. Eventually, Bambi’s name surfaced among the mess of syllables.
“Is he okay? Is he okay? Bambi? Is Bambi okay?” Variations of that question were repeated as Daejung slowly relaxed in Taehyung’s hold again, even if just to be let go.
“Yes. I think so. He’s probably dehydrated and in shock, but he’s breathing.” Daejung tried to move again and Taehyung grabbed him. “Listen to me. I’m going to carry Bambi back to the house, okay? Jungkook and I will come back out tomorrow or the next day for his mother. But for now we need to focus on getting Bambi inside and getting him some water and food and proper rest, alright?” There were tears streaming down Daejung’s face and his shoulders were jumping with silent sobs. “Do you understand?” After another minute, Daejung nodded. “Okay. Okay, good. Wait here.”
Taehyung stood and, once he was sure Daejung wasn’t going to move, turned back to the horrific scene in front of him.
Hunters, if he had to guess, trespassing on their property to hunt for sport again.
He approached slowly. He had no idea how mentally present Bambi was. If he had been like this for the full eight days they hadn’t seen him – given the state of both him and his mother’s body, Taehyung figured that was an accurate assumption – then he must have been in terrible shape.
When he lifted Bambi into his arms, the deer boy hardly stirred. His head shifted, his eyes maybe fluttered, but then he fell limp again. Taehyung walked back over to Daejung and felt his heart break as he watched his son fumble around until he grabbed onto Bambi’s hand that was hanging over Taehyung’s arm.
He watched the rise and fall of Bambi’s fragile little chest the whole walk back, unsure of how stable he was, physically. If they were lucky, he was just in shock and a bit malnourished and not injured himself. There was blood all over his face and most of his sweater, but it all seemed dried and old, with no open injuries in sight. He must have run away from the hunters and managed to evade them somehow.
He was a brave, ferocious kid, after all.
Taehyung just hoped that wouldn’t change after this.
----
A bunk bed had been built on top of Daejung’s bed after the kitten’s incessant whining and pleading them to let Bambi stay with them.
After he had woken up and had some food and water, Bambi had told them about what happened, about the hunters that had ambushed him and his mother and the way they had killed her right in front of him. Taehyung had wanted Daejung to be taken out of the room for it, for fear that it might scar him in some way. Daejung hadn’t let himself be removed from Bambi’s side. When Daejung heard about how Bambi had run away and hidden all by himself, crying and mourning his mother for days on end, he had buried his face into the deer’s little shoulder, trying to hold back his own tears.
“He can’t go back there,” he had insisted. “He has to stay with us!”
They had all eventually agreed, and the next day a bunk bed was installed.
It had taken a little while for Bambi to settle down, and he hadn’t slept at all the first night, too nervous being inside a house overnight for the first time. He had sat up above Daejung and read all night, cuddled up in a new, clean sweater.
The next day was spent with Hobi, buying things that Bambi would need that they didn’t already have, as well as some new clothes for him. Daejung had tagged along, and Bambi had kept a tight grip on his hand the whole time. Daejung had a sneaking feeling it had something to do with the fact that they were inside a mall for most of the day.
Bambi still got anxious being kept indoors for too long, and the laminated floors of the shopping centre weren’t doing him any favours either – his hooves kept slipping when he tried to walk.
As soon as they got back, Bambi rushed out into the backyard with Daejung close behind him, breathing out a sigh of relief at being outside again. He settled himself in the grass.
Daejung sat down in front of him.
“They went to get your mother this morning,” he said quietly. He heard Bambi shift and felt the fur on his knee brush his own leg.
“I know,” he murmured. “They said they want to have a proper burial for her tomorrow.” His voice became strained near the end of his sentence, and Daejung leaned forward, reaching out with one hand. Bambi’s fingers brushed his own a second before he nuzzled his cheek into Daejung’s hand.
“Are you okay?”
“I will be. I think.” Bambi sighed, and it sounded a bit frustrated. “As long as I have you I’ll be okay.”
----
When Daejung woke up, he could tell it was still nighttime. His bed faced the window and he was able to feel the warmth from the sun as soon as he opened his eyes in the morning.
He couldn’t feel that now.
He yawned and re-adjusted his blanket, trying to figure out what had woken him up.
A minute later, he heard it.
Bambi was crying.
He was almost immediately up, kicking his blankets off and using the front end of the bed for balance as he stood. It was a ladder that led up to the top bunk and he was unable to climb it without help, so he was left throwing his hands up onto the top mattress, searching for any part of Bambi he could shake to wake him up.
He felt the pointy, hard end of Bambi’s little antler and shifted his hands downward, seeking out the deer’s face. Once he found it, he gently ran his thumb under Bambi’s eye and whispered his name.
Bambi flinched, a whine forcing its way out of his throat. Daejung felt a whimper of his own lodge in his chest in response.
“Bambi,” he pleaded again, louder. He fumbled around until he could grip Bambi’s shoulder, and shook him gently. There was a gasp and then Bambi’s whole body jerked. His breathing was loud and harsh and rapid, his hand grasping at Daejung’s wrist a bit harder than he probably meant to. “It’s me,” Daejung said quietly. “You were crying, I wanted to make sure you were alright.”
There was a pause, and then Bambi relaxed. His breathing slowly returned to normal.
“Sorry,” he whispered. “Just…nightmares. I didn’t mean to wake you.”
Daejung frowned and moved his hand to hold Bambi’s fingers in his own.
“Come sleep with me,” he said softly.
Bambi was silent for a moment.
“I don’t want to keep you awake.”
“And I don’t want you to be alone.”
More silence.
“Please.”
Bambi breathed out and assented. Daejung pulled back, satisfied, and climbed back into his own bed, his hand against the bottom of the top bunk to assure he didn’t hit his head on it. He adjusted his pillows to make room for Bambi and tugged his blanket up.
Bambi’s hooves tapped on the ground a couple times before the mattress dipped with his added weight and he settled next to Daejung.
“Sorry for waking you up,” Bambi mumbled again. Daejung reached out to hold his hands between the two of them.
“Anytime you have a nightmare, wake me up,” he said. When he heard Bambi start to protest, he shook his head. “Please.”
“Okay, okay.”
A long moment of silence stretched between them, and Daejung let his eyes flutter closed. Bambi’s breathing had evened out and his hands had relaxed where they gripped Daejung’s, his body warm. Daejung thought back to the other day, and the question he had asked Hobi about the recent change in his, Taehyung’s and Jungkook’s relationship.
“Hey, Bambi?”
“Mmm?”
Bambi’s voice was slow and tired.
“Will you marry me when we grow up?”
There was a pause, and then Daejung felt Bambi shift closer. The deer’s forehead touched his own.
“Yes.”
Daejung shifted, and one of his arms wrapped around Bambi’s waist. He felt Bambi’s hands curl into the fabric of his shirt.
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
----
The next day they had the funeral.
Jungkook had buried Bambi’s mother’s body just inside the trees, and he and Hoseok had marked it with a wooden cross. Hung from the arms of the cross was the necklace that had never left Bambi’s mother’s neck.
Bambi could feel Daejung next to him, hands on his arm, but he couldn’t see much through the tears in his eyes. He was sitting at the base of the improvised grave, his legs tucked under him. He was wearing a black dress Hobi had gotten for him the previous day, his messy hair neatly brushed and tucked back.
Everything was shaking. Or maybe it was just him.
Hoseok, Taehyung and Jungkook stood around the raised plot of ground, solemnly silent.
There was no pomp and circumstance, no grand proceedings or speeches. They had all quietly filed out into the backyard, Jungkook leading them to the grave, and taken up their respective positions around it. There wasn’t much to be said, anyway.
Nothing any of them could have said would have made Bambi feel better.
Bambi leaned forward and set his hands on the dirt, watching as the freshly-upturned earth molded to his fingers. His tears fell off his chin, leaving darker drops among the dirt. His shoulders hiked up to his ears with a particularly hard sob, and he felt Daejung bury his face against his side.
Every time Bambi imagined living the rest of his life without his mother, he felt this intense tightness in his chest. His lungs burned, his eyes stung, there was lead in his palms and a hole in his heart.
I’m sorry
I’m sorry
I’m sorry
He leaned down, no longer able to control the volume of his sobbing, and rested his forehead against the ground.
I’m sorry
I should have done something
He heard someone kneel at his side, and felt a large, warm hand on his back. He gave himself a few more minutes to just cry into the earth under which his mother would rest forever, then slowly sat up. Taehyung’s hands reached around him and clasped his mother’s necklace around his neck. It rested just under his collarbone, the chilliness of the metal chain making him shiver. He reached up to touch it, still not able to see well through his crying, and kept his fingers there for a moment. It was a pretty little opal nestled in a silver frame, intricate designs carved into the side of the metal. Bambi had never asked where she had gotten it.
He clasped his hand around the necklace as another abrupt rush of utter sorrow gripped him and he doubled over, sobbing. Daejung grabbed his hand tightly.
They stayed like this for a while longer, until it started to rain.
Taehyung touched Bambi’s back again, and Bambi futilely wiped at his eyes before trying to stand. His legs shook and ultimately gave out. He couldn’t feel his hands.
Taehyung picked him up, and Bambi willingly pressed his face into his warm shoulder, his body instinctively curling into itself. He was still wracked with sobs, but didn’t protest to being brought inside.
As they walked away, Bambi lifted himself a bit to take another look at his mother’s grave, just barely able to see it. He didn’t know what to do with the ugly, encompassing feeling of worthlessness that consumed him when he saw it.
It felt like there was a huge lump in his throat. He thought back to his mother’s final moments, and how terrified she was.
I’m sorry
I’m so so sorry
Goodbye
