"Don't call my name it disgusts me."
"Your sister is there." He pointed in the direction where her sister is placed and she run towards her.
"Just more money, okay? Please wait." Nami cried looking at her sister, her sister who is all beaten up.
"So Luffy said that she was hiding? I think they got the wrong idea, right Lady Nojiko?"
He looked at her sister in awe
"The sister to the rescue, how sweet. The outsider of the family." he continued
"How much money do I need to pay?" she asked the man
"50 more million dollars" she just bite her lips, she is almost there.
"You know, the Earl (count) didn't even looked at you once, he just accepted you because your mother adopted you. How tragic, now you are saving her daughter?" He was laughing,
"Hey! the base is under attack!" the boy from the door shouted
"What!? Who could've found our base?"
"We'll get punished by Arlong-san by this."
Nami and her sister left behind in the dark room.
"N-nami, hurry and go, I'll be fine" she looked at her sister.
"I won't leave you!"
"No! you go, now"
"We'll escape together" her tears are falling. They heard footsteps in the distance, she looked at her sister, she looks pale.
"Hide Nami, now!" Nojiko pushed her sister with all her strength into the door beside her.
Just in time, the door opened revealing a man wearing a black jumpsuit with a cap on, his body was gorgeous with he was wearing.
"Laboon, is she the lady?"
"Confirmed, sir"
"Your name my lady? Don't worry, the Earl ordered us to rescue you."
"N-nojiko." They untied the ropes and she was supposed to call Nami when they heard a bang from the room where Nami went.
"Search the area, we must've missed someone" He ordered
Nojiko tried to stop them but the door was opened without a split second. She entered the room and someone tried to stop her, but she only saw an empty room, without Nami leaving a trace.
"Clear."
"Let's head out, guide the Lady." He ordered
Nokijo was carried by a stretcher and leading them to a private room where doctors came to check her up.
"Can we talk tomorrow? We got to investigate your case." Laboon questioned her
"Yeah, sure. Thanks"
The evening past and it's already midnight yet Nojiko isn't asleep. She heard a knock on the veranda, she hurried and open the window.
"Nami! Oh goodness you're safe." Nojiko hugged her tight.
"Yeah and I have you to keep a secret."
Nami and Nojiko sat on the chair in the veranda.
"I...I need you to keep quiet about my existence. Don't tell Luffy that you now me, cause for now—"
"Wait—what are you talking about? He can save us Nami!"
"Yeah...about that, He is practically my boss and he isn't the type who kinda pay attention to his missions and I don't trust him fully yet until I confirmed to your father that he is truly helping us. Anyway, let me finish first. This is important so I need you to listen carefully and calmly..." she took a deep breath before continuing what she was saying.
"Mom is alive...she was found at the river, nearly dead actually and now I am keeping on watch on her and I am under a certain person that can help us to save mom"
"Do I know him? Why do you trust him?"
"It's a secret for now but eventually the news will spread but before the news comes I'll be sure that we have already eliminated our enemies. I'm sure we'll live happily again." Her tears were rolling down her cheeks. Nojiko truly loves her sister even if she is blood related or not.
"Go to sleep, I'll be visiting you again." They exchanged goodbyes and Nami jumped off the roof like a leaf that was falling down from a tree.
She left with another burden in her back.
'I hope this will soon end.' That was she always wished.
"Maybe I'll go visit mom when another weekend arrives." She left a sigh out.
When Nami got home she was really tired, she was supposed to go to work in 3 hours. It was already it was 3 am in the morning.
SHE WOKE up exactly 2 hours before her work and only had 1 hour of sleep. She entered the bathroom to take a shower and dressed her self with a blue knitted sleeveless blouse partnered with a white pants and a pair of white high heels and let her hair down. She only putted a lipstick and a concealer to hide her eye bugs. It took her 1 hour to prepare herself.
She goes down into the parking lot and got herself inside her car, her work is an hour away in her condo and if it's a traffic or a rainy day it'll take 2 hours before she got to work.
While in the car she decided to open up her radio and listen.
"—people have been flooding in Litgram because of the pictures that have been uploaded yesterday, guess who they are." The one reporter said.
"Who are they actually?" The other one asked
"Actually a lot of people are starstruck by the beauty of the girl that Mr. Luffy brought in a date in the Baratie's restaurant."
"I think you slipped" the other reporter laughed.
Nami froze for a moment, but she still continue to drive.
"Well anyways, I have another tea! aaaa, this is so exciting. Did you know? That in that restaurant, the ex-girlfriend of the CEO was there too! The engaged model couple—Miss Boa and Mr. Trafalgar! Aaaa! This century is a beauty!"
"You are right! Omayghod this is a breaking news in the industry—" she turned off the radio.
"What was that? Shit." She said
Her phone was ringing, it was Vivi.
"Hey girl! I heard the news, spill it."
"What? No...It's just a misunderstanding,"
She looked at her phone and scrolled through Litgram, there were couple of photos where Luffy and her was laughing, one picture was taken when they got out of the car while she was holding in Luffy's one and the other one is when they were giggling in the restaurant.
"Really? Did you even think that this 'Mister guy' invited you to a meal when he broke up with his ex like 2 years ago? Maybe he moved on from that girl. YOU JUST DID IT GIRL! I'M SO PROUD! I need to call Lola for a toast."
"No—ughh. You are sooo wrong about that. He invited me to a meal cause we talked about something."
"Like what? Having a sex education or something?"
"Hey! He's my boss!" Nami is blushing about what Vivi is saying.
"Ooohh—is that really your relationship with him?"
"I think Kohza picked a wrong girl." She joked
"No way, I'm the best Lady in city while you are gone!"
"Don't worry I'll be back. I'll take what's mine."
"Atta girl. Anyways, Shirahoshi cried again after her breakup."
"Again? Just pass my message 'don't love anyone until you break a man's penis' "
"What the hella advice what that?"
"I guess so."
"Wait—don't tell me you have given your v-card?"
"hmm, kinda?
"We have to celebrate this."
"What? no!"
"We really need to--"
"Gotta go, office ahead."
Nami sighed, she just can't talk to Vivi. She is too straight forward.
Minutes later she arrived a few minutes earlier than expected. She was trembling inside cause she might end up getting Luffy angry.
Everybody in the building didn't knew her in her first day but now, they look at her like a super model.
"She even dress gorgeous!" The girl whispered but she heard it.
"She is sooo freaking sexy, have you heard the news in the tv?" The guy said to his friend.
"Look! she might be going to Sir Luffy."
"She is so pretty!"
"Is she prettier than Ms. Boa?"
Every people in the building is making fuss about her and her boss which making her stress.
She breath in and out before knocking in his office.
"Here goes nothing."
She saw Luffy sleeping in his table. He looks peaceful while everybody is talking about him.
'He must've been tired from the rescuing yesterday.' She was thankful for that.
She saw pile of papers in his desk that is assigned to be submitted later. He is sure lazy.
"Sir Liffy--" Laboon didn't continued what he was saying cause Nami hushed him.
"Ms. Cat, you don't need to do paper work, it's his work anyways." Laboon tried to stop her but she think that this will be her payment to him as a thank you for staying up saving her sister.
"It's okay, I don't have too much work to do today so it'll be a pleasure to help, and of course you look tired too, would you like some help?" She was smiling, Luffy and him look very tired.
"I can do this, thank you by the way."
"It's my duty."
Laboon left the room and Nami started to check on the papers. It was full of offers from different companies. She summarised all the information given. It was hours and she finally finished his papers, now she just need to eat lunch time and do her own computer work.
The cafeteria wasn't full, she guessed that they have their own food.
She sat down at the vacant table. Eating her meal alone makes her feel comfortable, her father sure didn't want to be with her while eating his meals.
In the middle of her meal, she saw people compiling in the entrance. There she saw one of the bachelor--Sanji--the owner of the few branches of Baratie's restaurant.
Sanji caught her in the side of his eyes and came running towards her.
"Hi my lady" Sanji kissed the back of her hand, she was stunned cause he kneeled infront of people.
"P-please stand up, Mr. Sanji."
"Is that what you really call me?" He looks sad
"Please stand up, The Honourable Mr. Sanji Vinsmoke, okay now? everybody's looking" She whispered. He wasn't hiding that he is a royal but it will be difficult if the news came out that she is the step daughter of the count.
He stood up and sat down in front of her. "What do you need?" she asked.
"I'm glad to see you here but I'm not here for you, sadly I have business here."
Nami showed him a fake smile. "Well then I have lost my appetite, I have work to do. So please let's end the conversation here." She stood up and Sanji was supposed to follow her but many people rushed him and he lost sight of Nami.
She entered the room and saw Luffy eating his meal while his brows are crouching. She saw that he was reading the summarised report that she made.
"Can I help you?" She asked
"Hmm--Yesh pleash" he said while swallowing his food.
She moved her chair into his side and she explained it one by one.
Luffy closed the distance between them cause he can't see a thing in the paper, the fonts were small.
"Is this a summarised report from Ms. Abel's offer?"
Nami stunned their for a second, blushing. He was so close that she can hear his breathe near her ear.
'chill out'
"Yes sir, please sign this if you accept the offer."
"What would be the benefit for us if we accept the offer?"
She was still stiff, it was hard for her to talk.
"W-we would have more supplies and materials."
"Oh, I see. I'll sign it!"
The door opened and it revealed Sanji. He was shocked.
"How dare you touch Nami--" Sanji couldn't continue what he was saying because Nami interrupted.
"Sir Luffy, just ask me question later and I'll answer it back, For now, I'll be leaving." She was walking at Sanji's direction and hopefully he will hear what she has to say.
"They don't know my real identity." she whispered as she walked pass by Sanji.
She looked at Sanji that she has turned her back on. He didn't move.
'I'm sure he is full of question' she thought.
"Now where should we head?" She think that they would take a while. So she decided to go in the nearest coffee shop to relax.
She ordered an iced coffee and sat down beside the window. The couch was soft and the weather seems nice today. She took a sip in her drink when suddenly she saw another people compiling around. The door opened as the cameras flashes in her every step. It was her, the girl who named Robin—the one she met at the club.
