    “Holy shit,” Will distantly heard Beverly say.

    He felt the bottom of his stomach hit the floor before his brain caught up with what he was seeing. There, tied to a tree and pierced with arrows several times over, was a body. The body’s chest cavity was carved open, intestines falling along the stark white sheet that gathered around the cadaver’s lower half. The head drooped, held up by an arrow that went straight through its throat. The face looked almost peaceful.

    Will turned, bent over, and promptly vomited all of the contents of his aching guts. He knew that face, and he knew that this body wasn’t a stranger.

    No, that was Will’s body.
