The Doctor’s face was full of pity, and Sam realised he'd revealed too much. He must have sounded desperate, like a drowning man clutching at straws.
“I can take you back to 2006, if that’s what you mean,” said the Doctor slowly. “But I wouldn’t be taking you home.” He paused, staring at Sam with a fixed intensity that was more than a little unnerving. “I know you think this world isn’t real, but Sam... I’m sorry to have to tell you this. I’m so, so sorry. It’s you that isn’t real.”

A Sam-is-the-Master fic.
The Doctor visits Sam and tells him, it's not the world that's not real, it's you, and tried to get Sam to come with him; Sam refused. It looks like Lucy from the Master's timeline may have found him, but she appears to be trying to convince him to go with the Doctor. Last we left our heroes they were at a part hosed by The Black Diamond (Lucy) who seems to be controlling everyone there, and no one seems able to leave. Sam seems partially immune but not entirely.
