Chapter Text
"YOUR WONDERFUL CREATION"
"Will now be discarded. No one can choose who they are in this world. Your name is..."
"H...hi, Susie." Alphys said, barely above a whisper, as Susie slammed the door open.
* ... ❤ * Am I late?
The selection screen spurred an odd thought in your head. You weren't controlling SUSIE, were you? You've played Deltarune before, you were meant to be Kris. Then again, jumping right into Susie's introduction was pretty weird, and it just so happened that Susie said...
❤ Am I late?
"Ohh, n-no! You're fine! W-we were just, uh...ch-choosing partners for the next group project, and...ummm, Susie, you're with Kris!" Alphys' dialogue perfectly mirrored what she said when Susie asked that very question.
"...N-now that everyone's here, I'll write the assignment!" Alphys walked up to the chalkboard. "Uh...h-has anyone seen the chalk? This is the third time it's gone missing, and...y-you all know I can't start class without some!" Everyone in class remained silent. "H-how about this? If no one speaks up...e-everyone gets in trouble!" Silence, still. "A...anyone? P...please?" Thankfully, Noelle spoke.
"Hey, there might be a box in the supply closet...Miss Alphys, why don't Susie and I..."
"G-good idea, Noelle! Susie, s-since you came in last...why don't you go get it for me...?"
* ... ❤ * Whatever.
These options wouldn't exactly be all that varied in their responses, you thought. So, you just said what Susie did.
❤ Whatever.
Susie leaves the classroom immediately. You find yourself in the hallway, in control of Susie. You walk some feet, before Susie starts digging through her pockets and Kris walks out. She holds that bit of chalk up to her mouth, just like in-game, and chomps down onto it.
"Didn't take you for a chalk gal." Kris says, prompting an exclamation point from Susie. She whips around and makes eye contact. "Susie." They say, flatly.
* Don't tell Miss Alphys. ❤ You didn't see anything just now, did you?
Without your input, Susie walks up to them. She puts her hand on their shoulder, before she slams them against the locker. ("Susie" starts playing.)
"You're thinking it, huh?" Kris finally speaks. "'Oh, it's Kris. For a second, I thought I was in trouble. Nope, it's just the weird kid. The freak. The human.' Did I get that right? I'd like to think I did, at least. Congrats. You got me. Bite my face off or whatever. I mean, I'd prefer to live, but it's not like I'm gonna be able to fight someone nearly a head taller than me. Besides, I sorta figured you'd come for me someday. I guess I'm done for, huh? No point fighting it, not like my choices would matter anyway." Susie appears to graciously accept the invitation as she bares her teeth, opens her mouth, and brings them closer. Then, suddenly, she drops them.
"...Well, that's a new one." They get up. "Why'd you just drop me like that?"
* Need you to do the project. ❤ It'd be a shame to make your mom to bury her child.
Kris is silent for a moment. Their head drifts downwards, and their gaze rests on the floor's tiles. "...Let's get this over with." They move past her as you are put back in control.
* (You look through the classroom's frosted window. A blurry yellow object is teaching a bunch of blurry bored-looking objects.)
You walk into the hallway intersection. Kris walks in the direction of the storage closet. You decide to head over to the exit. "Susie...? You aren't actually just gonna leave me here, right? Miss Alphys told me to make sure you didn't get into trouble. C'mon."
* (You drank some water from the fountain. Not as good as the church's sick Fruit Juice.)
"People put their mouth on that, you know," Kris comments. "and you're still drinking it..."
You head to the right.
"Are you gonna come with me or head to my mom's class?" That was oddly short.
You finally decide to follow Kris.
"Thanks for finally heading the right way, slowpoke! C'mon." You finally reach the closet. "Alright, let's do this..." They open the door. The hallway seems to get darker, yet darker, as the pitch black of the closet's insides looms over you. Kris turns to you. "...S-Susie, is it me, or...is it REALLY dark in there...?" Kris looks back at the closet, then back at you. "W-what's the holdup? You gonna go in or what?" Kris takes a few steps back. "...F-fine! If you won't head in, then...erm...w-we'll both head in! At the same time!" Kris shoves you into the closet. You hear the crunch of sheets of paper beneath you. "N-nothing in here but old papers. Alright. Try and find a light switch." You move deeper into the closet, knowing just what to expect. Kris feels the walls as they follow. "I don't feel a switch...maybe it's...f-further in. Yeah." You move deeper in as Kris continues following. "K-kind of big for a closet, wouldn't you say? Shouldn't we have reached the end by now?" You head further and further, Kris obediently following you like a dog. "...L-let's head back. We...w-we tried, right? I'm getting a bad feeling about this place."
* Me too... ❤ * Don't be a scaredy cat!
Your first original choice of dialogue in the game. You think that if you try to escape quicker, you'll probably get to start your new adventure as Susie sooner. So...
❤ Me too...
"Alright! We're both in agreement! Let's head back!" Kris grabs your hand and runs back to the entrance of the closet, when suddenly the door shuts and locks. "Wh-what the...?!" Kris runs up to the door and starts banging on it frantically. "H-hey! This isn't funny! Let us out!" They bang on the door more and more. "LET US OUT! LET US-" Suddenly, the floor starts rumbling. Things are finally starting to get good. Kris backs away from the door. "T-the floor, it's..." The papers begin to fall. Kris starts running, so does Susie. Both end up falling all the same when the final sheet floats into the abyss. The screen cuts to black, and you hear the distinct thud of someone hitting the ground.
