Elena Gilbert loves her family. What's left of it anyways. She wants to be happy like they used to despite their world turning on its axis and the burning blood in her veins. She wants her dreams to be of anything other than churning dark waters and hungry Earth trying to consume her.
Jeremy Gilbert just wants to forget for a while. To ignore his constantly buzzing senses and twitching hands. The ringing in his ears that he thought would fade by now. He wishes time would pause so he can figure out why it feels like his very bones are itching beneath his skin.
Atreyu Gilbert wants her teeth to stop aching all the time. For her hands to look exactly the same when she awakes. For her eyes to dilate the way they're supposed to and not the way they do. Most of all she wishes her siblings would pay enough attention to notice that something was changing and it wasn't just the number of people they still have left.
