Chapter Text
"Arthur." Merlin said, alarmed as he stepped into their bedroom.
"I found this." He tossed something on the bed, "in Mordred's room." Arthur raised an eyebrow at his husband then proceeded to pick the object up.
"A condom? Wait did you say in Mordred's room?" Arthur's eyes widened.
"It's time for THE TALK."
******
"What do you have for number 4?" Mordred asked as he scribbled on his homework.
"Not done yet." His boyfriend's voice sounded thorough his laptop. Mordred briefly looked up to see Daegal's head rolling to the side.
"Why couldn't you come over again?" The teen asked with a sad sigh.
"You would have just distracted me and we wouldn't get any work done." Daegal replied without looking at the camera.
"Ahh, so I'm the one doing the distracting? A bit hypocritical don't you think? Should I remind you about last Saturday."
"Stop it!" His boyfriend hissed suddenly. "That's exactly what I mean." Mordred giggled at him then suddenly someone knocked on his door.
"Mordred. We'd like to talk to you for a second." His parents called from the other side of the door.
"Ugh." Mordred's face scrunched up. "Just one second." He called before turning his attention back to Daegal.
"Sorry, my parents. I call you later. Love you."
"Love you more, bye."
And with that they ended the call.
"Okay, dads you can come in." He called as he straightened his posture on the bed.
The door to his room opened and his parents walked in, looking a bit uncomfortable.
"Listen, if this is about the fair on Friday, you already promised I don't have to babysit Charlie."
"Oh no, nothing like that really." His dad promised and then looked at his papa to continue.
"Yeah, right. So Um… the other day I found something in your room and we just….." He stopped to take a deep breath.
"What your father is trying to say is that… you are getting older and now as a teenage you might notice some changes happening to your body."
"Stop. Just stop." Mordred said dangerously calm and closed his eyes.
"If you two stop talking now we can just forget this conversation ever happened."
"We know you probably know a lot cause of school and we've been your age once too, maybe your friends have said things…"
"Urgh!" Mordred flopped face first into his bed.
"Look there is no reason to tell you to never have sex at all." And now since his parents didn't seem to go away he reached his hands up to cover his ears.
"So if you have any questions, we'll always be there for you. We want you to stay safe."
"Yes, we're cool parents. You can talk to us."
"Can you just go?" Mordred asked, his voice muffled by his pillow.
"Would you rather talk with your aunt Morgana?"
"No!" Mordred screamed mortified.
"Just one last thing. There are always condoms in the bathroom. Please be prepared. These things don't just prevent pregnancy but also diseases. And also the Internet can be your friend but don't believe everything you see on there, okay? Stay safe."
And with that they left the room.
"Well that turned out better than I expected." Merlin announced once they had closed the door.
"What do you mean? Clearly he's scarred for life." Arthur said to his husband. "And we didn't even get to really bad part."
"Relax, he had sex education I'm school last year and even wrote a test about it. I've seen it, trust me he knows about that. And now he knows he doesn't have to be ashamed about it. It was exactly like when my mother gave me the talk."
"Really? You think hunith would take over this conversion with Michael and Charlie." Arthur asked and Merlin's face turned sad.
"What is it, love?"
"I don't want to think about my babies growing up." Merlin whined and Arthur immediately took him into his arms.
"Hey, they won't. They won't grow up for a very long time. And if once they do we'll hopefully have grandchildren to dote on."
"I'm too young to be a grandfather. We just told Mordred not to get anyone pregnant."
"Well, you'd be a very sexy grandfather."
Merlin snorted against Arthur's shirt.
"Now I understand your son better. You're really embarrassing." Merlin mumbled against him and then looked up into Arthur's eyes.
"At least your mine."
"Yours. For always and ever."
