Summary
Stiles had made many decisions in his life. Good and bad and horrendously bad. Mexico had been bad. He had made the wrong choice, had had to live with the consequences until he graduated, until he could run from Beacon Hills and not look back.
He had known at some point that the call would come, he knew at some point he would return, thrust into another life or death situation with odds stacked against them, confronted by his past and the one person he had desperately tried to forget.
Derek had left Beacon Hills on a revenge mission, so sure he wouldn’t return until he had killed Kate. He had thought he was invincible, that finally, he could lure her away from Scott, from his pack, from Stiles. He had thought he could protect him. Six years have gone by and Derek is back in Beacon Hills. The circumstances have changed.
Things become dire, Stiles comes back and Derek hasn’t seen Stiles in years. They haven’t spoken about all the unspoken things they definitely should've spoken about. Time has passed, made a delicate distance between them that feels like, with one wrong move, it could rip everything apart.
