I fall onto my butt. It’s hard to catch my breath and I think I bumped my head. Or face, or all of the above, really. I wince as I hold my cheek.
“Ow,” I exclaim.
I’m four seconds from cursing the wall when a set of feet come into view: Italian loafers, the expensive kind. I follow my line of sight up and up, and while the lighting is dim I can see the immovable man who stopped me in my tracks.
I didn’t run into a wall…I ran into a person.
