Summary
As the sun grew lower Tarzan and Jane ran through the jungle hand in hand, their destination one of the cliffs by the seaside to watch the sunset. Tarzan’s mind raced, still in disbelief that she had chosen him over everything she’d ever known. His heart was so incredibly full, bursting with joy that she would be here by his side from now until their last days. Though he had thoroughly enjoyed the days festivities, he was glad they would soon be alone. He wanted to try the thing she’d done to him earlier, when she pressed her face to his, an act for which he didn’t yet have a name. It had consumed his thoughts, the way she had almost tackled him in enthusiasm the first time she did it, and then the way she had yielded to him when he’d initiated it the second, almost like they were speaking to each other without words. He still felt rather clumsy when it came to talking, and the prospect of being able to understand and communicate with each other without the need for it was more appealing than he could resist. Increasingly eager, he playfully scooped her up in his arms, maneuvering her to carry her on his back as he ran the final stretch.
