Draco never expected to be from high value to hated over night. the name of Malfoy in deep shame. His father was being hunted. His mother was distraught and he- he didn't really care. He didn't want to care. It seemed easier if he stayed away from it all. He kept to his room. avoiding all contact with the outside world. The world hated him. And perhaps he hated himself a little. He was a coward. He didn't kill Dumbledore. He listened to his father like an obedient pet. He was seen as a target. An enemy. Of course he was. No one saw the boy teetering on the edge of life all because he was born into the wrong family. His family wanted him to be great so he was.
Part of him was glad that his aunt was dead. She was horrible. Pushy. Judgy. She hated him with a passion. Many people did. His own father could barely look at him now adays. He scoffed, now be was expected by his parents to bring honour to the family name as if nothing had every happened. He didn't want to bring honour to the family. He didn't want anything to do with it anymore. He always called himself a family guy but now he wasn't so sure. He was used and abused by their master and his parents did nothing to help him. They were cowards. Of course they were. Pathetic little coward's who worshipped the dark lord like dogs crawling at his feet. It made Draco sick to be in a family with so little self value. He began to realise that now. He was no better than the bloody Weasleys. Perhaps his ego was being turned down a few notches.
