Summary
A horrific pain, the smell of dirt, and a pair of hands.
These were the only things that Hao recalled when he awoke. His ears made out the sound of cracking and cascades of drips. Slowly, Hao’s brain worked to connect the cracking to a fire and the dripping to rain. He felt as if he was emerging from a thundercloud, his head ringing from the sound and his body disassociated from the weightlessness. Completely unaware of himself and yet still being certain that he was not where he was supposed to be.
Hao.
That was the only thing he could remember. His name, he was certain.
