Summary
“When you look into my eyes,” Eros asked, “what do you see?”
Nico looked, and the visions hit him all at once.
One thousand different moments. Laughter, playful yelling, shouting, absolute chaos. The sound of sweet compliments and sultry whispers and bold declarations. The sight of that smile, Will’s smile, over and over, and then the feeling of his skin against Nico’s, the warmth of his breath, the touch of his fingers, the familiarity of it. The reassurance of his hand on Nico’s shoulder and the comfort of his hugs.
There was more, too. A sense of pride and accomplishment, the sound of cheering, the flickering sight of graduation caps and polaroids and love notes and rings and birthday presents and brief pecks and clothes abandoned on the floor. It was beautiful, every bit of it. It made Nico want to cry with how badly he wanted to feel it.
The visions faded, and Eros looked at Nico with a level of pity.
“I am sorry,” he said.

He looked at Nico with all the love and admiration of a thousand lifetimes, and Nico briefly wondered how many times he’d been reborn. Technically, he only needed to make it to Elysium three times to reach the Isle of the Blest. But some souls choose to do more. Looking at Will, Nico got the feeling he’d been here before. Some way, somehow. Maybe it was the lack of oxygen talking-- or maybe not. Maybe he’d loved Will Solace sometime before. Maybe he could choose rebirth, and find him again.
“Nico di Angelo,” Will began, his voice shaking, rivulets streaking down his perfect, freckled cheeks.
“Will you marry me?”

Inkdrop's writing is always so... poetic. Definitely a good read for the weekends.
