Chapter Text
Kudamon (they/them)
• a calming presence, but can and will be a little snarky if they want to
• They used to be Kanade's parents' partner- more specifically her dad.
• They've been there even before Kanade was born and while she was growing up. Basically Kanade's only remaining parental figure with her mom no longer around and her dad losing his memories up until she was about to be born.
• i feel like they're really affectionate. Has likely wrapped around each member like a huuuggeee warm blanket, occasionally kissing their foreheads
• (Ena explodes at the affection, Mafuyu feels warm, Misuki lavishes in it, and Kanade's reminder that she's loved)
• oh yeah, did i mention they're bigger than normal/standard Kudamon's
• As a result of being around Kanade's dad, they'd sometimes chime in and help Kanade compose stuff. Her beta listener if you will
• the sole reason Kanade actually gets out of the house more often/be more active.
• Kudamon has this box tucked away somewhere in the house that contains all the stuff Kanade had given them while growing up. Sometimes they bring it out to either embarass her or just reminisce quietly
• speaking of embarrassing. You cant tell me that a younger Kanade has not mistaken another Kudamon for her Kudamon.
• this is actually where the ReArise cameo comes into play
• but you may be asking "wait isn't she able to hear digimelodies" or "wouldn't she be able to tell because they dont look the same (note; Kanade's Kudamon is the ghost looking Kudamon)"
• fool, younger Kanade thinks Digievolution is like changing your clothes (at the time) and she hadn't quite grasped the level system
• for the Digimelody problem, its pretty similar to the previous point. She thinks it changes all the time (when in reality a digimon has this specific melody that sets them apart from the other. Even when it's really similar, i think the "instruments" that make up the melody should be another giveaway that it's a different digimon)
• (whoops sorry for that tangent)
• anyways whenever they see a different Kudamon while out with Kanade, they always jump at the opportunity to embarrass the crap out of her.
• anyways hurting them hours
• the fact that Middle School Kanade has anger issues is tearing me inside out.
• how awful would it be if Kudamon always intercepted with her before she could do anything too destructive to the people/things around her
• how awful would be it be if the second Kanade calms down from her rage high, she feels this overwhelming amount of guilt surge through her the moment she notices Kudamon
• how awful would it be if Kudamon smiled at her, telling that its okay to feel out her emotions, even when their melody was going all over the place. Every sound that goes unspoken displaced and distorted- pained.
• do you think this would unintentionally add to her issue of suppressing her emotions
• why do i torture them sooo much help.
• Kudamon: *cusses someone out in digimon*
Kanade: Kudamon dont say that :(
• Pre-Main Story. I think it'd be funny that Kudamon's presence becomes known when they hopped on vc once (by accident) while they were talking to Kanade
Niigo knows there are two people(?) behind K
They probably assumed that Kudamon was Kanade's older sibling or something
I think that'd be silly hehe
Dorumon (they/it)
• A digimon full of contradictions. They're kind of the neighborhood's Mothman, but they also show up and play with the kids nearby and acts as some sort of older sibling figure. They're lovable and goofy, but under all of that, they're strangely more violent than what they let on
• fitting for Mafuyu (even though i just had that epiphany while writing this)
• Dorumon showed up at Mafuyu's window shortly after the main story and hadn't left since.
• supposedly, they were initially attracted by the negative energy that kept steadily growing and growing to dangerous levels, before suddenly vanishing into thin air.
•Which was really Mafuyu letting off steam by going to the Empty Sekai, but Dorumon wouldn't have known better and assumed that there's something really wrong. Though pre-main story, it can never catch her on time.
• Dorumon mostly show up only to talk to Mafuyu and occasionally hop in her computer to talk with the other digimons. Other than that, they dont necessarily want to stay for too long
• because 1.) Mafuyu doesn't want her mom to know that she had partnered up with a Digimon despite the latter telling her not to since it might get in the way of her studies
• and 2.) Dorumon's already put off by Mafumom
• When dragged into a fight or flight situation, it evolves as a defense mechanism (although their form seems more like a Dorugamon trying to pose as a DexDorugamon)
• Mafuyu's service animal digimon with scary dog privileges.
• Leans more to more feral/animalistic behaviours at times.
Coronamon (he/they)
• older sibling energy. Basically toppled Ena's Eldest Child™ status.
• pspsps they and Lunamon are siblings, if you forgot.
• Coronamon is naturally a polite mon. It reminds Ena alot of Akito's good boy persona and it drives her up the wall
• Every. Single. Time.
• though she doesn't really hold it against him since that's just how he is
• i think they got into photography solely due to Ena's selfie problem
• but whenever Ena's out of the picture (heehoo funny joke), they just take a shot at whatever that catches his eyes
• relating to that, they made scrapbooks out of the photos they've taken. Some are just mundane scenery, some that contains memories frozen in time.
• Also a sweet tooth- kinda? But only for those sweet-sour candied fruits. Lunamon sometimes steals from his stash, much to their chagrin.
• i feel like he and Ena would have crossed paths when she and Akito were at the summer festival? Maybe Coronamon occasionally works there and sees that she's not doing so well (????)
• so they kinda struck up a conversation and things began shifting into place
• the second voice of reason after Kudamon
• relating to Coronamon's record of showing up to work at summer festivals, i think they would know a bunch of folklores/myths. From the cute, whimsical ones to the mysterious, scary ones.
• Very, VERY defensive of N25. I can only imagine that inspite of the merry atmosphere of the Summer Festival, there's atleast going to be those times where he has witnessed straight up assault and had to break them up more than he can count.
• ok I mentioned that Coronamon and Lunamon act as a parallel to the Shinonomes' sibling relationship, so imma add a bit more to thay bc idk how else i should
• based off of the HC where the Shinonome siblings' talent lies where the other is passionate about and is working their asses off to achieve.
• Coronamon wants to be better at healing while Lunamon wants to be better at combat. They are struggling severely but they still support eachother, helping eachother even.
Shortmon (any pronouns)
• Shortmon is a fancy little thing, very knowledgeable (to some degree, but enough)
• as any Shortmon would do, bakes on almost a daily basis. Mizuki doesn't have to go to cafe's anymore because of them
• aside from baking, i think they'd also be a good cook. Multipurpose cake yipee
• Shortmon showed up after Mizuki figured her gender out
• "i know what you are."
• ↑ now a very fond memory even when it scared the crap out of Mizuki's the first time. Mizuki's never letting him live it down
• oh btw Mizuki did her ribbon tie. She genuinely likes it more than the usual look she had before
• i feel like Mizuki would 100% design clothes for for Shortmon to wear and you KNOW they will wear those clothes with the upmost pride
• watches horror movies with Mizuki pretty often. Has long since become unfazed by now, just thinks the monsters/ ghosts in the movie are impolite.
• definitely have baked too much cakes to the point sometimes it and Mizuki have opened up a stand in front of the building Mizuki lives in to give it away for free.
• vaguely also queer coded (even though Digimon is probably the most queer thing to ever queer)
• what i mean by that is the expectations placed onto them (and by extension, other digimons) by digimon society to digivolve into a certian digievolution line (in Shortmon's case, either becoming Weddinmon and ReverseWeddinmon)
• Shortmon is... Not very keen on evolving into either forms because they dont feel "right" to them
• (and bc im not a big fan of how they feel for this specific Shortmon— outside of this i really love the evo line, it's sooo cool)
• (which is why i designed an entirely new evolution for Shortmon. But yeahh i'll post them some other time)
