There is a man chained to Acacius's bed, and really, Acacius wants nothing more than to turn around and walk away, ideally while slamming the door and stabbing an emperor or two on his way out, but he can't.
It would be impolite to refuse.
Even worse, it would probably get Acacius executed, really, and he promised Lucilla he won't die, and he has been regretting and cursing the promise ever since she forced it out of him, but he can't take it back now, can he, and so he doesn't, and so he doesn't refuse.in which Lucilla is gone, Acacius is falling apart, Hanno has fallen apart and they somehow mend each other
