Lloyd had suppressed a lot of his childhood because of…obvious reasons. Including a few things about serpentine which isn’t good.
Nya tried to stop Lloyd this time trying one not to remind Lloyd of his childhood trauma but also trying to not trigger jay’s own trauma so she was trying to be subtle with it. But Lloyd the oblivious child did not get the hint at all. He decided to do it anyway because he thought it would turn out like how nya and Kai’s did so behind bay’s back he shapeshifted into a snake.
He slipped past the ninjas going straight for jay but he didn’t get the reaction he thought he would get he thought jay would you know freak out slightly you know regular kind of stuff for him. No this was different jay was unusually silent and he just stared he was shaking. Then he just froze up. Oh wow Lloyd did not expect that but before he could you know transform back and be like “hey buddy it’s just a prank” he saw jay crying. Oh god this was not going the way Lloyd wanted this was a panic attack and Lloyd had no clue what to do
He quickly transformed back to human form trying to calm jay down but jay wasn’t listening or anything! Lloyd had had panic attacks before sure but this was different! Lloyd quickly went to grab Cole or nya or anyone who Lloyd knew could help as Lloyd was panicking himself. He found Cole eating more cake and grabbed him by the arm.
“Buddy where are you taking me?”
“Jay’s having a panic attack and i don’t know what to do!!!”
Cole immediately ran into jay’s room and jay was now curled up in a ball. Cole comforted jay and eventually he calmed down.
“So jay what triggered this?”
“A snake…”
Cole knew exactly why he panicked and had to sit Lloyd down to explain.
“Lloyd you say you planted a toy snake?”
Lloyd nodded he still planned on pranking the others so he couldn’t really tell Cole yet. But now he knows he has to be careful with it.
“You do remember the serpentine right?”
“One of the things I can’t suppress for the life of me…”
“Well, jay was bitten by a snake that almost turned him into a serpent so he has this fear of snakes that will cause him to have a panic attack more then any other thing.”
Well that’s one more thing Lloyd is going to blame himself for now where does that go under…
“Just remember Lloyd it’s not your fault you didn’t know.”
“But I should’ve double checked or asked nya…”
“Stop with this self blaming nonsense buddy it’s not your fault you didn’t do this with bad intentions.”
Lloyd nodded as he walked back to his room.
He just kind of sat up in his room his human half and dragon third felt awful but the oni part of his relished in the fact he caused pain. He sat there until he felt like he couldnt feel his legs anymore. Maybe this was a mistake he didn’t know but one things for sure the next prank he’d have to be 1 careful as to not trigger something else more serious and 2 to make sure something like this never happens again.
