Summary
By the time they got into the building, up the stairs and through the doorway, the arms-length of distance between them felt like a black hole. Jean was the first to turn and face him in the narrow entrance way.
"You are ridiculous," he said, sounding pained all over again.
Jeremy couldn't help smiling at that. "For wanting to kiss you?"
He had a millisecond to think that might've been way too honest before Jean's palm hit the wall right beside his left ear.
Gray eyes stared Jeremy down as the backliner spoke. "I don't believe you, captain. You are hesitating."
"You know why."
"I don't."
"I won't be like them."
Jean made a small, frustrated sound like a growl. It felt like an eternity before he muttered, "I know," and leaned in.
