He’s calling your name again, soft and hushed. You turn your head to him, cheek puffed as you chew. “Mm?”
“Do you…do you really think I’m a dog?”
You swallow. “I was just…angry. I don’t think you’re an animal, Beel. I’m sorry.”
He stares at you, fumbling with his own hands in his lap.
“…I wouldn’t mind it.” He says, just barely loud enough to hear and your eyes widen a little. Is he saying…?
“You…you wouldn’t mind what exactly?”
“Being your dog.” He says bluntly, as if he were being helpful by clarifying. “I could be good at it, I think.”
Suddenly, his trembling hands and labored breaths from earlier begin to make a lot more sense.
