Teen Wolf: New Blood-Stiles Stilinski Love Story

Chapter 9: The Darach

Chapter Text

Sam walked out of class after the bell rang, heading towards his locker. He then got a familiar scent and he saw Stiles standing by his locker. Stiles started to head over when he saw the blonde.

“We are going to the hospital.” Stiles said.

“Why?” Sam asked.

“Danny was a target but not a sacrifice.” Stiles said, going out the school doors. They got to the jeep and Stiles drove to the hospital. They walked into the building.

“Are we just going to sneak in?” Sam whispered. Stiles turned to him, smirking.

“You should know the answer by now.” Sam rolled his eyes as they snuck into Dannys room. He was asleep. Stiles slowly walked over to him.”Danny, you awake? Danny?” Stiles softly asked. He then looked down and saw his bag and knelt down, looking through it.

“What are you doing?” Danny weakly asked, his eyes closed. Stiles looked at Danny as Sam froze.

“I'm not doing anything, Danny. This is just a dream you're having…” Stiles said, looking back in the bag.

“Are you going through my stuff?”

“Right, but only in the dream, remember? Dream. Dreaming.”

“Why would I dream about you going through my stuff?”

“I don't know that, Danny, okay? It's your dream. Take responsibility for it. Shut up and go back to sleep.” Sam had to hold in a laugh as Stiles kept on looking.”Danny-boy, you might've actually found something here…” Stiles whispered. He pulled some paper out of the bag and the two walked out. “Hold this.” Sam grabbed the papers and looked at them. It was a research paper on currents. Stiles pulled out his phone and started to talk to Scott. He then hung up. “Come on.” Stiles said. The two ran to the jeep and Stiles drove to the vet. They walked in and saw Scott, Cora and Lydia in the back. Sam placed the paper on the table.

“Okay, so what does this kid's homework have to do with finding Deaton?” Cora asked, looking at the papers.

“Because it's not just homework, okay? It's a project on geomagnetic fields. They flow through the earth. They can even be affected by lunar phases, all right?” Stiles explained. “Now, look at this. This is a note from Harris on Danny's proposal.” They looked at the notes.”Harris wasn't just a sacrifice, he knew something. Allison's dad wasn't the only one with a map, all right? Danny had one, too. Danny marked all the telluric currents, okay? Now, the weird thing about Beacon Hills is that it actually is a beacon, you wouldn't believe how much energy flowing through the earth is around this town.”

“He’s in the vault.” Sam said.

“Let's go.” The group started to move. Cora then stopped moving, looking at her phone.

“It’s Boyd.” Cora said, looking at her phone. The group stopped.”The plan didn't work. They cut the power.” They looked at each other. Scott nodded.

“Go. I can save Deaton myself.” Scott said. They nodded and went their separate ways. Stiles drove as fast as he could to the loft. They all ran out of the jeep and into the loft.

Sam ran upstairs to see Kali holding up Boyd and the twins holding onto Derek.

“No!” Sam yelled but it was too late. The twins made Derek stab Boyd with his claws. They then let the two go, with Boyd falling onto the ground.

“I'm giving you until the next full moon, Derek. “ Kali said, walking away. “Make the smart choice. Join the pack... or next time, I'm killing all of you.” Kali then walked past Sam, who glared at her. The twins then followed her. He heard footsteps and saw Cora run up to Boyd and Stiles come up to Derek. Lydia softly held Sam’s hand.

Sam was sitting on his bed, working on homework. On the other side of the bed, Stiles was working on his homework.

“I can’t focus.” Stiles groaned out, closing his book. Sam rolled his eyes.

“We haven’t even been doing this for 5 minutes. “ Sam argued. Stiles groaned again.

“It’s just with everything going on, it’s hard to.”

“I know.” Sam placed his stuff down. “Have you told your dad yet?” Stiles shook his head.

“No. I….I just don’t know how to tell him that the supernatural is real. I…I don’t want to drag him into this world.”

“Stiles, I think if you tell him, he might know what he is against and he might be safer knowing about us.” Stiles nodded. Stiles then looked at his phone and saw a text.

“Lydia has a feeling.” Stiles stood up. “Let’s go.” Sam sighed but stood up and grabbed a jacket and followed Stiles downstairs. Eva was in the living room.

“Where are you going?” Eva asked.

“Lydia said that she has a feeling.” Sam said, making Eva raise her eyebrows.

“Ok. Be safe.” Sam nodded and they left. They got into the jeep and Stiles started to drive towards the school.

“So you think it's another sacrifice?” Stiles asked.

“I hope not.” They got to the school and Sam got out of the jeep, with Stiles following him. They found Lydia, Allison and Scott at the school.

“ It's the same thing-- same thing as the pool. I got into the car heading somewhere totally different, and ended up here. And you told me to call you if there's a dead body.” Lydia said, looking at Stiles

“You found a dead body?” Stiles asked. Lydia shook her head.

“Not yet.”

“How are we supposed to find the dead body? You're always the one finding the dead body!” Stiles said.

“I don’t want to do that any more.”

“Guys… I found the dead body.” Scott said. They all looked to where he was looking and saw a police officer dead on the school sign.

“It’s Tara.” Stiles softly said.

Sam went to school the next day and saw Stiles and his dad talking.

“We need to find out who’s doing this and fast.” Allison said, walking up to Sam.

“Yeah.” Sam said. “We don’t know who it could even be though.” Sam said as they walked to their class.

“We just need to find out before the next sacrifice.”

Sam was sitting in class as Jennifer was walking around, talking.

“Idioms are something of a secret to the people who know the language or the culture. They're phrases that only make sense if you know key words. Saying "jump the gun" is meaningful only if you know about the starting gun in a race. Or, a phrase like, "seeing the whole board..."

“Like chess.” Stiles mumbled.

“That's right, Stiles. Do you play?” Jennifer asked. Stiles shook his head.

“Uh, no. My father does.” Jennifer nodded and kept on teaching.

“I think I can get to Ethan. I'm pretty sure I can make him talk.” Scott whispered. Sam and Stiles turned to him.

“What do you want to do that for?” Sam asked.

“The Druids are Emissaries, right? So, what if the Darach was an Emissary to the Alphas?” Sam shook his head.

“It can’t be.” Sam softly said. “They killed all of their druids before joining the pack.”

“Okay, first of all, I cannot believe we've gotten to the point where a sentence like, "What if the Darach was an Emissary to the Alphas?" actually makes sense to me. Second of all, we're gonna have a huge problem getting to Ethan.” Stiles stated.

“What's that?” Scott asked.

“Going through Aiden.”

“Ever since he's been back at school, they're always together. How are we gonna separate them again?” Sam asked. They all looked at each other and then turned to Lydia. She looked at them and sighed.

“What now?” Lydia asked. After class, the three were able to find Ethan by himself and they went to a staircase.

“Why are you even talking to me? I helped kill your friend. How do you know I'm not gonna kill another one?” Ethan asked, looking at Stiles. Stiles raised his eyebrows.

“Is he looking at me? Are you threatening me? You know what I'm gonna do? I'm going to break off an extra-large branch of mountain ash, wrap it in wolfsbane, roll it in mistletoe, and shove it up your freaking…”

“Stiles.” Sam said, placing a hand on his shoulder.

“We're talking to you because I know that you didn't want to kill Boyd. And I think that if something like that happened now, you wouldn't do it again.” Scott stated.

“You don't know what we owe them, especially Deucalion. We weren't like Kali and Ennis when we met him. We weren't Alphas.” Ethan said.

“What were you?”

“Omegas. In actual wolf packs, Omegas are the scapegoats, the last to eat, the one who has to take the abuse from the rest of the pack.

“So, you and your brother were, like, the bitches of the pack?” Stiles asked.

“Something like that.”

“What happened?” Scott asked.

“They were killers. I mean, people talk about us as monsters. Well, they were the ones who gave us the reputation... And our Alpha was the worst of them.” Ethan said.

Why didn't you just fight back? Form Voltron-Wolf, you know? Kick everyone's asses?” Stiles asked.

“We couldn't. We didn't know how to control it back then.”

“Deucalion taught you.”

“And then, we fought. We took down the whole pack, one-by-one. And, by the time we got to our Alpha, he was begging for his life. And we tore him apart. Literally.”

“What about your Emissary?” Scott asked. Ethan shook his head. “They're all dead? Kali and Ennis' too?”

“All of them except for Deucalion's.” Ethan then groaned in pain.

“What’s wrong? Are you hurt?”

“Not me… my brother.” Ethan said. They all ran to the boys locker room and saw Cora down on the ground. Ethan and Aiden talked for a bit and then left.

“Guys, I think she’s pretty hurt.” Stiles said, looking at Cora. They helped Cora up and she started to clean herself up.” You okay?”

“I'll heal.” Cora said.

“Do you realize how suicidally crazy that was? What were you thinking, going after them?” Cora turned to them.

“I did it for Boyd! None of you were doing anything.”

“We're trying…” Scott said.

“And you're failing. You're just a bunch of stupid teenagers, running around, thinking that you can stop people from getting killed. But all you do is show up late. All you really do is find the bodies.” Cora then started to walk away.

“She's definitely a Hale…” Stiles stated. “Mm, I'll make sure she gets home.” Stiles followed the girl.

“We need to talk to someone. To stop all of this.” Scott said. Sam sighed.

“I know one person that might talk to us.” Sam said, making Scott look at him.

Scott and Sam went into the counselor's office and saw Morell standing to look at files.

“Sorry, but I don't remember having any more appointments…” Morell said, still looking at the files.

“I could use a little guidance right now.” Scott said, making her look up to see Scott and Sam in the room. “I need to talk to you.” She closed the door and sat down.

“Why are you bothering me, Scott, when you know the clock is ticking? When you know someone else is about to be taken?”

“By you.” Scott said. Morell scoffed.

“Come on, Scott, shouldn't you leave the interrogation to someone like Stilinski?”

“Are you the one killing people?” Sam shook his head.

“It’s not her.” Sam said, making the two look at him.

“He’s right Scott. Sam has known me for many years.” Morell said. “Truth is, I'm all that stands between Deucalion and the lives of your friends. I've been the one pulling the leash taut when they're salivating for a bite.”

“What do you mean?” Scott asked.

“He wants a True Alpha in his pack. He thinks it's you. And a little distraction like a few human sacrifices isn't gonna dissuade him from the prize.” Sam and Scott looked at each other.

“I'm not an Alpha.”

“But you're well on your way, aren't you?”

“Then what is he waiting for? What does he want me to do?”

“He wants to make a killer out of you. That's what he does.” Sam frowned.

“Scott can’t be a true alpha if he kills someone though.” Sam said.

“You want the psychologist's perspective? He's an obsessive who both desires you and is threatened by you. If the obsessive can't have the object of his desire, he'll choose to destroy it instead. You'll either willingly become part of his pack, or he'll make a killer out of you-- destroying your potential to be a True Alpha.”

“Neither of those is ever going to happen.” Scott said.

“Don't be so sure. You're playing his game... And, while you're trying to figure out what to do next, he's thinking ten moves ahead with checkmate already in sight.” Scott and Sam left the room.

“Ten steps ahead.” Scott softly said.”Can you figure this out?”

“Me?!” Sam asked.

“Sam, you know him the most. He is your dad. You should know how he works.” Sam sighed.

“I can try. I don’t know if I can though.” Scott nodded. “Morell isn’t wrong about you being an alpha.” Scott frowned.

“What do you mean?”

“That night, at the mall. At one point, your eyes glowed red.” Scotts ‘eyes went wide. “He wants the most powerful pack and having a true alpha…that makes the pack even stronger.”

“I’ll be careful.” Sam nodded and left. Sam got home and sighed. He smelled his mom and then another smell. Another heartbeat. A familiar one. He slowly walked to the kitchen and saw his mom, glaring at Deucalion, who was standing at the doorway.

“There he is.” Deucalion said.

“What are you doing here?” Sam asked, walking over to his mom.

“Can’t a father say hi?”

“We are well past that.”

“What do you want, Deucalion?” Eva asked.

“I just want to say that I’m not part of the killings around town.” Deucalion simply said. “Morell told me about her visit with you and Scott today, Sam.”

“You never know. You did kill Erica and Boyd. I had to make sure.” Sam said.

“Do you know why the Darach are killing these groups of people?”

“To get enough power to fight against you.” Sam said.

“You are correct. The Darach is doing a Druid five-fold knot sacrifice ritual that requires five sets of three human sacrifices: virgins, warriors, healers, philosophers, and guardians.” Deucalion said. “What I have noticed is that the Darach already has gone through the first three.” Sam frowned.

“What happens if the Darach finishes the sacrifices?”

“They will become powerful enough to kill me.”

“And what makes you think that I care if you die?” Sam asked.

“We both know that you are lying about that.” Deucalion simply said. “But, do you want innocent people to die?” Sam frowned, knowing that his father was right. “I know you will do the right thing.” Deucalion then left.

“He’s right. I…I have to stop this.” Sam said, pulling out his phone. “I can’t let any more innocent people die.” Sam called Stiles. “Hey, where are you?” Sam asked.

“Hospital.”

“Are you ok?” He heard Stiles sigh.

“Yeah. Cora passed out though. I also told my dad everything.”

“Does he believe it?”

“I don’t think so. Why are you calling?”

“It's philosophers, as in teachers.”

“That makes sense. Tara, she wasn't always a cop. She used to teach middle school.”

“Then the last one's gonna be another teacher.”

“Yeah, but there's dozens of them, Sam, and they're all headed home.”

“Stiles, isn’t the recital tonight?”

“Shit.”

“I’ll call Scott and tell him everything.”

“Ok, I’ll meet you at the school.” Sam hung up and he looked at his mom.

“Did he do anything to you?” Eva shook her head.

“I like to think that he is scared of me.” Sam softly smiled. “Be safe.” She kissed his forehead and he left. He drove to the school and he just got out of his car when he heard a scream. Lydia’s scream. He started to run into the school building, going through the halls. He then heard a roar from Scott. He ran into the classroom to see Scott flying into the chairs, Lydia tied up and Noah with a knife in his collarbone. He then saw Jennifer looking at him.

“Little Deucalion here to save the say?” She asked, smirking at him. Sam felt his claws. “I know that they hurt you . I will be doing everyone a favor. You will have your revenge on them, revenge on the man that you grew up loving, who has killed your friends. ” Sam shook his head.

“No.” Sam said.”It’s not right.” She sighed and grabbed his throat, choking him. Sam then turned over to see Stiles looking through the classroom door. Jennifer then pushed a desk, to make sure that Stiles couldn’t get in. She then shoved Sam into the wall hard, making him dizzy. She then dropped him on the ground, his vision black. When Sam opened his eyes, Stiles was over him, tears in his face.

“Stiles?” Sam weakly asked.

“Hey.” Stiles said, helping Sam stand up. Sam looked around. “She took my dad.”

“Gaurdians.” Sam softly said. “She’s going after guardians next.”
