Chapter 12: Deleted Scenes

Chapter Text

SCENE 1

In this scene, I originally wrote it that Sam never ran out of her house when her grandmother died. In this scene, she stayed in her room, processing what had happened. SamXDanny, this definitely has a lot of trio fluff :)

"She's in her room," She said as she walked back to her husband, who draped an arm around her shoulders. They both turned their attention back to the Doctor.

Danny and Tucker exchanged confused looks as they slowly walked up the stairs. Once they got to the landing, they couldn't help but notice the nurses walking back and forth in a room to their left. They chose not to stop and continued on to Sam's bedroom.

Danny knocked on the closed door, "Sam?"

"Sam? We're here," Tucker added after a few seconds. They both placed their ears on the door and waited to hear rustling from the other side. They didn't hear anything, and even though Sam's mom said that she was here, that didn't mean that she was here. Danny and Tucker knew her escape route from her bedroom well. Choosing not to knock again, Danny turned the door knob and opened the door. When they walked into the room, they saw Sam lying on her bed, staring up at her ceiling.

"Sam?" Danny asked as Tucker shut the door behind them. She didn't move, she continued staring at the ceiling, getting lost at her blank ceiling. Danny and Tucker walked over to her bed and sat down slowly so as not to alarm her, even though they'd said her name multiple times now. Danny patted her leg, trying to get her attention. "Sam, are you okay?"

Sam kept her gaze on the ceiling, but answered Danny's question, "She's gone," She said quietly.

"What?" Tucker asked. He looked at Danny to see if he heard, but his look confirmed that he didn't.

Sam felt tears threatening to escape, but she shut her eyes tightly to stop them. "She's gone."

"Wh-" Tucker started, but Danny stopped him by grabbing his arm. It seemed Danny knew, but Tucker was still at a loss. He thought back to Sam's parents, the Doctor, the nurses, and the bedroom on the other side. As if he had slammed into a wall, he finally understood. He turned over to Danny and saw that his eyes were welling up with tears as Tucker's were. Sam stayed on her bed, refusing to make eye contact with either of them.

Slowly, both Danny and Tucker laid down on each side of Sam, and held her hands. Feeling her friend's hands in hers, she allowed herself to open the dam and cry in their comfort.

SCENE 2

In this scene, Sam never went to Dash's house for a party. When I originally wrote it, Dash wasn't having a party, but he found her at a club. This is after Sam had her first confrontation with Amara. While it was fun writing this scene, I felt like it was a lot all at once for the trio.

"Dash?" Tucker said into the Fenton Phones. Danny didn't respond as he clicked the green button to accept the call.

"Hello?" Danny said.

"Hey, Fenton, uh any chance you're looking for Sam?" Dash asked.

Danny's eyes widened, "Yes! Where is she?"

"Thought so, she's at The Azzpect," Dash said nervously.

"The Azzpect?" Danny repeated with shock, lacing the word.

"The Azzpect!?" Tucker repeated in his Fenton Phones, making it an echo to Danny. Danny and Tucker knew the place, it was an underground club where teens went to let loose. But slowly, it became a location where other adult-themed activities occurred. Danny and Tucker immediately made their way to the location as Dash stayed on the phone.

"Don't worry, I've been watching her, but uh, she did already have a few to drink before I got here…Sam, stop!"

"Get off of me!" They could hear Sam scream in the background. Her speech sounded slurred, making Danny and Tucker worry more than before.

"Do you know what she's had?" Dash said off the phone to someone else. They couldn't hear the response, but stayed silent nonetheless. "Do you not realize the trouble that's coming here?!"

"Dash! What did she take?" Danny shouted.

"Shit!" Dash said off the phone, "Dude, uh, this guy is telling me she had some Molly."

Danny and Tucker knew that Sam was more of the rebellious type, but drugs seemed like it was part of another world that they would never face, at least not alone. Danny and Tucker zoomed faster to get to the club.

"Watch her! We're almost there!" Danny shouted into the phone. He hung up and tried shaking the worry off.

"Danny," Tucker said. "She's going off the rails."

"We just have to get her home. She'll be fine."

Sam no longer felt angry; in fact, she felt limitless, invincible, powerful. She also felt she was outside of her body, looking down at herself as she danced on the bar with a few other girls to Heartless by The Weekend.

"Sam, can you please get down!" Dash yelled over the music. The only thing making her mad right now was Dash's incessant pleading.

"Leave me alone!" She yelled back.

"Danny and Tucker are going to be here any minute!"

Sam rolled her eyes and continued to dance. "Does it look like I care?!"

"Sam, c'mon!" Dash tried again.

Sam crouched down into a flirtatious position and leaned into the bartender, "Think I can get another drink?"

"Absolutely," The bartender said breathlessly.

"Dude! She's cut off!" Dash yelled. Sam rolled her eyes at Dash's voice. The bartender handed her a drink, to which she winked at him and accepted. "Are you kidding me?! Do you not know who her boyfriend is?!"

"I don't really care," The bartender said, not taking his eyes off of Sam as she danced. Just then, the door was kicked open, revealing a mad Tucker and Danny.

"You definitely should now," Dash said. The bartender gulped and shakily held the drink he was working on for another customer.

"...Danny Phantom…?"

"Yep!" Dash said with renewed confidence.

It was easy to spot Sam, she was one of the girls dancing on the bar. Danny and Tucker squeezed their way through the dancing crowd, pushing people out of the way if needed. Finally, they made it to the bar.

"Sam! Get down!" Danny yelled at her.

"I'm busy!" She yelled back.

"Yeah, busy fucking up your life!" Tucker yelled.

"Fuck off!" She screamed, flipping Tucker off momentarily before resuming her dancing. "'Cause I'm heartless. And I'm back to my ways cause I'm heartless!"

The bass from the music vibrated in Danny and Tucker as they stared at Sam in shock. "I told you to watch her! That kind of implied no more drinking!" Danny yelled at Dash, noticing her glass was nearly full.

"I tried!" Dash yelled back. He then stuck his thumb at the bartender, "He kept giving her more." Danny growled and shined his eyes brighter, glaring at the guy behind the bar.

"I didn't know you were her boyfriend," The bartender held his hands up defensively.

"Really? Cause when I told you she had one, you didn't seem to care," Dash said smugly. The bartender gave Dash an incredulous look for throwing him under the bus. Slowly, he dared a glance at Danny, who was radiating with anger.

"She's underage!" Tucker yelled, also glaring at the bartender.

The bartender forced a smug smile, feigning confidence, "Yeah, and so is every other chick here!"

Danny was about to lunge at the bartender, but Tucker held him back. "We need to get Sam out of here!"

Danny focused his attention back on Sam and saw she was not acting herself at all. He knew that she would take her grandmother's death hard, but he never thought she would turn into a completely different person. The sight broke his heart a little. "Sam, come down! We're going home!"

Sam crouched down and glared at Danny. Danny could smell the alcohol off her breath and see the glassy look in her eyes, "No." She said through clenched teeth. She then stood up and continued to dance.

"Fine, if you don't want to do it yourself, then I'll make you!"

"Don't you da-ah!" Sam yelled as Danny picked her up and held her over his shoulder. In the swift movement, she threw her drink at the bartender.

"Serves you right!" Tucker yelled with a smug smile of his own. Tucker thanked Dash and followed after Danny as Sam pounded on his back and screamed at him to let her go.

Cold air welcomed the trio as they stepped out of the stuffy club. But Sam was still screaming. "Let me go!" Danny placed her on the ground to look her over. Tucker also circled around her to make sure she was okay. "What are you guys doing?!"

"Making sure that you're okay, cause we actually care about you!" Tucker responded. Danny clenched his teeth when he noticed the bruise that looked like fingers on her arm.

"What happened here?" He asked darkly, holding her arm up. His mind immediately went to some douchebag grabbing her, and he did not like that.

Sam tugged her arm back and took a woozy step back; Tucker stood back in case she did end up falling. She laughed as she shook her head and spun in a circle, "I have no idea," she bowed and laughed more. She heard the music in the club and lit up, "Oh, I love this song!" She said as she started to run off, but Danny held her back.

"You're not going back in there."

"Danny, we can't take her home; her parents will kill her," Tucker whispered.

"We're not taking her home, we're going somewhere else where she can sober up a little."

Danny had flown them to his and Sam's tree so she could calm down a bit. He had texted her parents letting them know they had found her and that she wanted to sleep over at Danny's. Surprisingly, they were okay with it. Tucker had run home to get some water bottles for Sam, but it didn't seem to help much as she was still dancing to the music on Danny's phone. What she was dancing to currently was Tokyo Drifting by Glass Animals.

"Wavy Davy's on fire…" Sam sang with the song as she danced in circles around the tree.

"How long do you think it'll take until she crashes?" Tucker asked Danny.

"A few hours, at least," Danny turned over to Sam and held a water bottle for her. "Sam, you want some water?"

"Mmhm maybe in a little… You still got it, you still got it alright,"

"No, Sam have some water." Danny said, standing up and grabbing her hand.

"You're so cute when you're concerned," Sam said, taking the water out of his hand and taking a sip.

"Just wait, he'll be adorable in an hour," Tucker said sluggishly.

Danny sat back down next to Tucker as Sam danced and sang. "I'm going to kill whoever gave her the Molly," Danny said.

"You going back tomorrow?" Tucker asked.

"I'll go tonight if she shows any progress. But if not, then yeah."

"I wonder if she'll remember about her grandmother," Tucker said as he watched Sam sing and dance to Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift. "I gotta say, I'm surprised she knows this song."

"You weren't here for I did something bad," Danny responded.

"Ooh, can we play that one next?" Sam asked excitedly.

"Sure," Danny responded as he gave Sam a soft smile. She smiled back and continued singing and dancing. Danny dropped his smile and looked back at Tucker to respond to him, "I don't know if she'll remember. Part of me is hoping she does so we don't have to tell her, but I also don't want her to remember just to delay the pain."

Danny watched Sam as she danced and sang. if she wasn't intoxicated, Danny would be happy seeing how free she looked in this setting. But the fact that she was worried about him even more. "I never thought she would act out like this."

"Grief makes people act out sometimes. If this is her way of coping, let her go. As long as it's controlled and not at a sketchy club."

"Danny, play the next song!" Sam asked. Danny picked up his phone and put her next request on.

"Will you two get up and dance with me already!? The night is young!"

Tucker and Danny looked at each other. "This has to be a strong Molly," Tucker said.

"They said I did something bad! Danny, c'mon!" Sam ran over to Danny and grabbed his hand to stand up.

Tucker held his hands up, "Pretty sure this goes under 'boyfriend' title."

"If you don't dance with me, I'm going to roll down the hill!"

"Okay, okay," Danny said, giving up and standing up. Sam then started grinding on Danny, which surprised both him and Tucker. "Sam," Danny started, but he couldn't deny that it felt good.

"Uh, should I leave?" Tucker asked.

Danny was now having trouble focusing on Tucker's words. He could only focus on Sam's body as she moved her hips to the music.

"Danny, do I have to dunk water on you?" Tucker asked, giving him a smug smile.

"...yeah - n-no! No! I'm okay!" Danny claimed.

"Light me up, go ahead and light me up! See, you just need to loosen up a bit. Having fun?" Sam asked with seduction lighting up in her eyes.

"Yeah," Danny said dreamily. He then heard a cough from Tucker, bringing him out of his daze, "uh, I mean -"

"They say I did something bad, then why's it feel so good," Sam whispered in a husky voice, similar to when she was possessed by Undergrowth. A few weeks into their dating, Danny had admitted that while the whole situation scared him, he'd be lying if he didn't find her insanely hot in her short vine dress. Sam had teased him at first about it, but then she bought a dress that looked very similar to the vine one, and she started using the voice anytime they were in the middle of a hot make-out session or when she really really wanted something from Danny. With the voice, she always won.

Danny's knees buckled as he held her hips with a firmer grip.

Tucker was losing Danny, and he knew it. "Danny!"

"Oh, c'mon! You try staying focused as your girlfriend grinds on you," Danny said. He then brought his eyes back to Sam and couldn't help but check her out, "with that really really nice ass."

Tucker got up, holding a water bottle, and splashed some in Danny's face. Danny blinked some water out of his eyes. "Stay focused."

"Right," Reluctantly, Danny took a step back from Sam. He had to hold a groan back from the sudden removal of her warmth. "Sam, why don't we play a different song?"

Sam then pressed her breasts up against Danny; he couldn't help the moan that escaped his lips.

"Danny, focus!" Tucker yelled. He grabbed Danny's phone and looked for a slower song to play; he clicked on Too Sweet by Hozier. "There. Why don't we slow down a bit and calm our hormones, lovebirds?"

Sam released Danny so she could dance slowly to the song now playing. Danny went to sit back down next to Tucker, who was giving him a smug look.

"I lost myself there…" Danny said.

"Ya think?" Danny shoved Tucker over at his comment. Tucker laughed at the blush that crept on Danny's face. "Sam," Tucker said, holding up her water, "take some water."

Sam froze, looking out into the park that was behind them. Down by the bench, she saw the ghost who grabbed her arm and made her feel numb, then angry. Her breath hitched at the wave the ghost did, and in an instant, Sam felt her high come down.

"Sam?" Danny said. He got up to stand next to her and see what she was seeing, but the ghost left. "Are you okay?" Danny asked, rubbing her lower back.

"My grandma died tonight, didn't she?" She said slowly.

Danny and Tucker tensed up and looked at each other. They weren't expecting this question tonight.

"Yeah, she did." Danny said quietly.

Sam's bottom lip trembled as she allowed Danny's confirmation to sink in. Forgetting about the ghost, she turned around into Danny, with his arms wrapped around her, and her face into his chest.

She didn't cry, she felt numb.

Sam woke up in Danny's bed with a wicked headache. She cringed at the light that escaped through his curtains.

"Well, good morning!" Tucker's voice sounded like glass scraping.

"Do you have to be so loud!" Sam hissed through her teeth. She opened her right eye slightly to see the aspirin and water on Danny's nightstand. She grabbed both as she began to cure her hangover.

Tucker chuckled, "I hope we learned a valuable lesson from this." Sam narrowed her eyes at Tucker.

"Where's Danny?"

"There was a ghost," Tucker lied. In reality, Danny had kept his word and went back to the club to find out who gave Sam the Molly. He was teaching them their own lesson as Sam and Tucker sat in Danny's room.

"Sam, do you remember…"

"Yes." Sam interrupted. She closed her eyes, expecting tears to come out, but she felt nothing. "Yes, I remember."

She sat up in Danny's bed as she thought of the events from the night before. She was waiting to cry, she thought she would cry, but nothing came out. She stood up, and Tucker stood up with her, ready to catch her if she fell.

"I'm going home."

"Sam," Tucker called out. She was inches away from turning the door knob. She turned her head to Tucker and waited for him to finish. "Don't you, I don't know. Want to talk about it?"

Sam shook her head. She just wanted to leave and be alone, "There's nothing to talk about."

"Sam, wait!" Tucker yelled at her from the top of the stairs now. "Last time you ran off, you acted out!"

Sam looked up at Tucker from the bottom of the stairs. "I'm fine, Tucker."

"I don't think so," Tucker said as he slowly walked down the stairs. "Sam, you ran off. Danny and I found you dancing on the top of a bar, high and drunk! Do you remember any of that?! Now, you're acting like nothing happened. You're not fine."

Sam clenched her fists. She did remember it. She remembered feeling angry, then feeling nothing at all. "Yes, I remember it. I'm just going home," Sam turned toward the door, but Tucker put his hand on her shoulder. When she turned around, he looked back at the bruise on her arm.

"Do you remember where you got that?" Tucker asked, pointing at the bruise.

Sam followed his finger and stared at the bruise. As she looked at the bruise, anger clouded any memory of how the bruise came to be. She pushed Tucker's hand off and ran for the front door.

"Sam!"

Sam ran to her home. She opened her front door and closed it shut. As soon as she stepped foot into her home, she was attacked by her parents with hugs.

"Oh Sammy!" Sam didn't respond to their hugs, but she didn't swat them away either. On their own accord, they released her.

"Honey," her mom started, by lifting her chin to look at her. Pamela looked into her daughter's eyes, trying to see what she was thinking. She knew that her mother-in-law's death would be the hardest on the girl who stood before her. "Samantha,"

Sam shook her mom's hand off of her chin and stormed to her bedroom. "Honey," her dad tried.

"I need to take a shower," Sam stated. Her parents watched her as she shut her bedroom door.

"Tucker?" Danny called out as he landed in his room and transformed into Fenton. He saw that Sam was no longer in his bed, and Tucker was not in his room. "Tucker?"

Tucker appeared from Danny's door and raised his hands up in defeat. "She ran off, dude."

"Again?" Danny groaned.

"Danny, I know I said that people deal with grief differently, but I think she's refusing to process everything, which can't be good." Tucker explained. He saw the worried look in Danny's eyes and quickly added, "Before she left, she said she was going home, though."

Danny transformed back into Phantom. "I'll go talk to her."

Tucker stretched and lifted his arms over his head. He sniffed at his armpit and retracted, "I'm gonna go home and take a shower. Let me know how that goes."

Sam brushed her hair as she stared at her reflection. She wore ripped skinny black jeans and an oversized Dumpty Humpty t-shirt. She placed the hairbrush on her desk and lifted her sleeve to stare at the bruise. She furrowed her eyebrows, trying her hardest to remember where she got the bruise. Images of a hand grabbing her arm played in her head, but she couldn't remember the face. A tap on her window took her attention away from the mystery.

Floating in front of her window was Danny. She sighed and waved her hand for him to come in. Her room temperature dropped a few degrees as Danny came in as Phantom, but it quickly went back to normal when he turned to Fenton.

"Sam, can you talk to me, please?"

"There's nothing to talk about, Danny."

"Sam, I know you're hurting inside -"

"Actually, I'm not." Sam interrupted in a monotone voice.

"I know you, Sam," Danny said as he grabbed her hands in his, looking deeply into her eyes, "You don't have to put up a strong front with me. Please talk to me."

"I don't have anything to say,"

"Your grandmother died. I know she was important to you." Unbeknownst to Danny and Sam, Amara appeared a few roofs away from Sam's house. She flew up to Sam's window and quickly waved her hand again. As soon as she did it, she turned invisible. Danny's ghost sense went off, making him turn his head to the window. At the same time, Sam's eyes flashed black for a quick second, then went back to amethyst.

Sam gritted her teeth and ripped her hands away from Danny. Danny turned back at her sudden reaction. "You don't know anything!"

"I don't? We have known each other since the second grade, I think I know plenty about you," Danny argued back. He took a deep breath to help manage his temper.

"Why don't you just go? You have better things to do."

"Sam, that's not true, and you know it! You know when it comes to you and anything else, it's always you," Danny said, cupping her face with his hands. She looked into his blue eyes and desperately wanted to cry instead of feeling angry or anything at all. She was tired of feeling like that, but she couldn't stop. She felt like she had no control over her emotions or her actions.

Their moment was ruined by a knock on the door and her mother's voice. "Sammy-kins, can we talk?"

Sam brought her hands to Danny's and took them off her cheeks. "You should probably go."

"I'll be back right after," Danny said as he turned into Phantom and shot into the sky.

Sam felt anger boil inside her, but behind all that anger, she had a bit of confusion, "Why am I so mad!?"

She walked over to her door to open it and let her mom in. "Yes, Mom?"

"Samantha, I just wanted to check on you."

"Why?"

"Well, honey," her mom said, sitting on her bed. Sam stayed by her door, ready to leave if she had to. "I know that your grandmother was a very important person to you," her mother went on, but Sam didn't hear any of it as her anger clouded everything around her.

"I don't want to talk about that!" Sam yelled, alarming her mother out of her speech.

"Honey, we need to talk about it," Pamela said calmly.

"No, we don't," Sam said, bringing her hand to her head as it started to pound.

"Samantha…"

"Mom, can you just go!?" Sam screamed.

Her mother flinched back, but she quickly recovered and took a deep breath. "Honey, what you're dealing with right now is called 'The Five Stages of Grief.' I know you're angry, I know you're sad, but please don't push us away."

Unbeknownst to Sam and her mom, Amara came into her room using invisibility. She floated around her mother to get beside Sam. She placed her hand on Sam's shoulder and once again used her power to absorb Sam's energy. Sam collapsed on the ground from the sudden energy loss. "Why am I feeling so weak all the time now?!"

"Sam!" Pamela yelled as she ran over to her daughter to help her up. Amara, now feeling energized, flew away. "Honey, are you okay?" Pamela lifted Sam's face to look into her eyes for any signs of discomfort. As she searched her eyes, she noticed that Sam's eyes were a darker amethyst than they usually are. Before she could mention it, Sam pushed her away.

"I'm fine," She reassured her. Sam looked at her bed with longing, as it looked so comfortable. "I'm just really tired."

"Okay, okay, yeah, why don't you rest," Pamela helped Sam to her bed and tucked her in like she used to when she was younger. Sam would oppose, but she was too weak to say anything. "Honey, you don't have to go to school tomorrow if you don't want to. Your father and I understand." Sam didn't respond.

Pamela sucked a breath in as she mentally prepared herself to say what she had hoped to tell Sam when she came in her room. "The funeral is scheduled to be on Wednesday." Pamela looked at her daughter, but Sam didn't shift her gaze.

"Honey," Pamela tried again, but held back. She could tell her daughter was done with the conversation. "We'll send dinner up for you later," Pamela said as she walked out of Sam's room and shut the door behind her.

SCENE 5

This is the scene of the Celebration of Life party. No rooftop scene, no TxJ scene, it was pretty empty, so I'm pretty happy with this being a deleted scene. I love how the Celebration of Life party chapter turned out.

Upstairs, Sam, Jazz, Tucker, and Danny were all hanging out in her bedroom, sharing their own stories of Ida.

"Remember that time we walked in on her wearing a wig that looked like Sam's hair and clothes that also looked like Sam's?" Tucker said.

Danny laughed at the memory, "Oh man, how could I forget!"

"I think I could've gone the rest of my life not knowing that," Jazz shivered.

"How do you think I felt when they told me?" Sam said as she shook her head from the memory.

"Oh, it was sweet," Danny said. "She just wanted to feel young again."

"Yeah, sweet and creepy," Tucker added. They all laughed, feeling relieved to be expressing another emotion besides sadness.

They all sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes in their own thoughts before Sam spoke up. "I saw her today."

All eyes went to Sam, waiting for further explanation. "She was there. At the synagogue, when I got up to the altar."

"Really?" Jazz asked.

"Yeah. It looked like her, but something about her presence was…weird…"

"Weird how?" Danny asked.

"I'm not sure how to describe it…it was just a feeling…"

"I'm sure it was strange just to see her. I wouldn't worry about it too much," Tucker said, trying to ease the mood.

"I guess…" Sam went back to looking up at her ceiling. As conversation continued to flow again, she couldn't help but wonder about the interaction.

As the hours went on, the party started to dwindle down until only the Foleys and Fentons were present.

"Tucker, we're getting ready to go!" Tucker's mom shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

"Us too, Danny!" Maddie yelled from the foyer.

Sam had told Danny and Tucker earlier that she could be by herself tonight and that they should go be with their families. At first, they started to oppose, but Sam stood her ground and that was that.

Sam picked herself off her bed and stretched. Danny and Tucker also stood up and started to put their shoes back on.

"Sam, are you sure?" Danny asked.

"Yes. You guys need to get some sleep."

Tucker picked his jacket up and slipped his arm in, "we don't mind,"

"I know." Sam walked up to them to give them a hug, "and I appreciate what you guys have done."

"Anything for you," Danny said.

"Always," Tucker added.

Sam had changed into her pajamas and started getting ready for bed. As she was taking her earrings off, she noticed the letter on her desk still. She picked it up to give it one more read, allowing a few tears to fall.

"Now, why are you crying?" A voice said behind Sam. She quickly turned around and saw the ghost version of her grandma. This time, she could clearly see black eyes instead of her normal periwinkle. "I thought it went very well."

"Grandma?" Sam asked hesitantly.

"Yes, my love. It is I," Sam's grandmother smiled, but it didn't travel to her eyes, nor did it feel warm like it usually did.

Sam held a hand out but took it back immediately. Something about this did not feel right. "Who are you?"

"It's me, Bublegh,"

Sam shook her head. She knew now that it wasn't her. Her eyes narrowed as she turned around, "Get out of here before I-" Sam's grandmother gripped onto Sam's arm before she could get further.

As soon as she made contact, she could feel energy being drained out of her, similar to Spectra's power. But instead of feeling insecure right after, she felt depression surrounding her. She collapsed onto the floor holding her arm; she felt tears well up in her eyes again.

"Let's try this again," the ghost who looked like her grandmother mumbled under their breath. They walked around Sam so that they were facing each other.

"Grandma?" Sam asked. She felt confusion and intense sadness wash over her.

The ghost lifted their hand to tuck a strand of hair behind Sam's ear. They gave a sinister smile as Sam wrapped her arms around them. A black glow emanated from the ghost and merged over to Sam.

"Yes my love, it's me," they said, opening their eyes to reveal a glow to their black orbs.

SCENE 4

This scene was right after the scene above. In this version, Amorpho was going to make an appearance.

"Hey Tuck," Danny said as he approached his friend on a bench in the park. He sat down next to him, looking out into the view. "Have you talked to Sam?"

"I was going to ask you, she's been ignoring all of my calls," Tucker said, setting his PDA down.

"She's been ignoring all of my calls, too. I flew over to her house, but her parents caught me before I could go into her room. They said that she hasn't left her room since last night."

Tucker shook his head, "I don't get it. She was fine the other night. Do you think it had anything to do with her seeing her grandmother?"

"I don't know. I almost think that would be a comfort thing," Danny said, pushing his hair out of his face. "What worries me is that she said it was unsettling."

"Yeah, she couldn't really explain what happened."

Danny's phone started going off in his pocket. Thinking it was Sam, both boys had their hopes up, only to have concern wash over them seeing it was Sam's mom.

"Hello?" Danny answered.

"Hi, Danny, is Sam with you?" Pamela asked.

Danny's and Tucker's eyes widened at her question. "No, I thought she was home."

"She locked her door, so we can't check to see if she is actually here. Do you think you could come check if she is here?"

"Of course, Tucker and I will be right over." Danny stated. Pamela thanked him, and they both hung up.

"If Sam's not home, where do you think she is?" Tucker asked as Danny transformed into Phantom.

"I'm not sure."

Sam was curled into herself under her blankets. She felt like she was drowning in a vast pool of black oil, but the thing is, she didn't care if she did drown. She felt she deserved it anyway. For the past two nights, her grandmother had said things that she never thought she would say ever, claiming that she was disappointed in Sam, that she was disappointed in her family, and that she wished she had a different one. Sam would cry into her shoulder while her grandmother rubbed her back, continuing to insult her and her family. It was an odd experience, but Sam felt she couldn't let go of her. Instead of pushing her off, she pleaded with her that she could be better. But her grandmother wouldn't believe her.

So here she was now, crying into her pillow, under her blankets, wishing she were anywhere but here. She had heard a series of knocks on her bedroom door, with her parents' voices pleading her to come out and eat something, but she stayed silent. Her phone had gone off multiple times throughout the two days, but she ignored it, letting it ring. Now, she heard a tapping on her window. Trying to block out the noise, she held the blanket closer to her and squeezed her eyes shut.

Against her wishes, footsteps sounded in her room.

"Sam?" Danny asked, shaking her a bit. She refused to escape her cocoon.

"Sam?" Tucker asked.

"Great, they're both here."

"Sam, c'mon, you need to get up," Danny said.

"I'm gonna go tell her parents that she's here," she heard Tucker say to Danny. She then heard the door open and close, leaving her and Danny alone.

"You wanna go to the movies, Sam? I know that new zombie one just came out. We can go see it," Danny offered.

Sam stayed silent.

"Tucker and I were just at the park. It looked like some people were setting up for a protest fighting for a month-long use of only recycled materials. Wanna go?" Again, Danny's offer met silence.

"Wanna go for a flight around town? I know you like doing that," Danny said, sitting in her bed, patting her hip. She didn't say anything.

The door opened and closed again. Tucker walked in with a tray of food, placing it on her desk. "Hey Sam, I have all of your favorites here," Tucker said, displaying the tray as if he were a proud chef. "I have a tofu soy melt with a side of fresh fruit," he finished in a tune.

Sam didn't respond.

"C'mon, Sam. Your parents told me you haven't eaten anything since the funeral. At least try."

Hearing that Sam hasn't eaten anything in the past two days made Danny worried. Tucker caught his eye and silently pleaded with him not to say anything.

Tucker slumped on her bed, still holding the tray. "I gotta say, this looks really good," Tucker said, trying to waft the steam towards Sam. "It'd be a shame if this doesn't get eaten."

Silence.

Danny and Tucker looked at each other with concern etched in their faces.

Danny hesitantly put a hand on her comforter. "Sam, please get up before I make you get up." Danny knew she knew what he meant. He would turn the blanket intangible, pick her up, and fly her to the Nasty Burger.

"Just leave me alone," Sam said so softly, Tucker and Danny had to hold their breaths to hear her.

"Sam, you need to eat," Danny stated.

A hand escaped the confines of Sam's cacoon to pluck a berry from the tray Tucker was still holding.

"Sam," Danny, and Tucker warned.

"Just go away," She pleaded.

"Eat," Danny and Tucker said. Silence met their demand.

"Sam, your grandmother would not want you to lie around in bed all day and starve yourself," Danny said, losing his patience.

He had expected Sam not to respond, but he and Tucker were both surprised when she lifted the blanket off of her. She looked as if she had been crying all night with bloodshot eyes, a flushed face, and disheveled hair. But what caught Danny's attention was the lack of color that was in Sam's eyes. Usually, they were a striking amethyst that reflected an intense spark and passion behind them, but as he looked into them, they were dull and lifeless.

"Sam…" Danny trailed off.

"You don't know what she would've wanted," Sam said through clenched teeth.

"Pretty sure she wouldn't want this," Tucker said, referring to her appearance.

"Don't act like you two knew her," She snarled.

Finally, Danny found his voice. "I'd like to think we knew her pretty well, considering we've known her since we were 7."

"I didn't even know her," Sam said quietly, more to herself, but Danny heard it.

"Why are you saying that? You probably knew her the most out of everybody in the entire world."

Tears started to build in her eyes. She thought back to the conversation that she had last night, "I didn't."

Danny was about to argue back, but his ghost sense went off. He transformed into Phantom and looked around. Not seeing anyone in her room, he knew he had to check outside. Danny looked over at Tucker quickly. "Go ahead, I got her."

Danny shot an appreciative look at Tucker and flew out. What he didn't know was the invisible ghost that had their arm on Sam, stealing her energy. As soon as Danny left, Sam collapsed on her bed from the energy loss. She felt even more darkness surround her, if it was even possible.

Tucker mistook this for hunger rather than anything else. "Sam, please you need to eat," Tucker pushed the tray closer to her, but Sam just zoned out. Tucker waved his hand in front of her, but he couldn't get her attention. It was almost as if she was looking right through him.

"Sam?" Tucker tried again. Sam then passed out. "Sam!"

Chapter 9

"Alright, where are you?" Danny said to himself as he looked over the row of houses. Not seeing any ghosts, he flew around the perimeter to see if he found anything strange. In a few alleys over, he found Amorpho flying around looking worried.

Danny never considered Amorpho a threat, per say, but he was still a ghost who showed some threatening tendencies. He landed behind Amorpho, which caused him to jerk around to see Danny.

"Oh, Billy," Amorpho greeted, as he moved his head around. It looked like he was searching for something.

"It's Danny, Amorpho. What are you doing here?"

"Oh, nothing. Just flying around," Amorpho wandered over to a trash can to open it up. Not seeing what he was looking for, he closed it and moved to another trashcan. "And wandering. Minding my own business," he looked over to Danny, who had a questioning look. "Really, Billy, I'm not doing anything."

"Looks like you're doing something to me. Lose something?" Danny asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Ugh, something…someone…" Amorpho said under his breath."

Danny felt his phone ringing in his pocket. Normally, he wouldn't pick it up during a ghost fight, but Amorpho wasn't anything too bad. He picked it up to see Tucker calling him.

"Yeah?" He answered.

"Don't freak out," Tucker started.

Danny felt his heart drop, "When you say don't freak out, that makes me freak out even more. Is she okay?"

"I just wanted to let you know that we're going to go to the hospital. She passed out after you left. I don't think she's even had water the past two days."

Danny froze. He was mad at himself for not checking in on her earlier. He thought that he was doing the right thing when he gave her space, thinking that she would need time with her family, but it just seemed to backfire. She needed him more than she let on, and he wasn't there for her.

"I wasn't there for her."

"I'll meet you there," Danny said as he hung up. He turned around to Amorpho who flinched. Danny cocked an eyebrow at him. Why was Amorpho acting so scared around him. Unless he did something that would make him mad…

Danny thought back to when Sam said she saw her grandmother at her funeral and that it was unsettling. Was it unsettling because it was crazy seeing your dead grandmother at her own funeral…or…was it unsettling because it wasn't her grandmother at all.

As the thought flashed around his head, Danny gritted his teeth and lunged for Amorpho. Amorpho yelped, but he couldn't get away as he was pinned to the wall by Danny.

"What did you do?" Danny said through clenched teeth.

"I didn't do anything!" Amorpho cried out trying to take Danny's hands off of him.

Danny tightened his grip on his jacket. "This has you written all over it. I don't know any other ghosts who can shapeshift into someone else like you. Why are you taunting Sam?" Danny looked at Amorpho with disgust. He thought he was more of a lower-level threat, but playing with someone's head with their dead relative was a messed up thing to do. And a ghost to be doing that to his girlfriend made Danny see red.

Amorpho, seeing Danny's blazing green eyes made him cower, "Okay, okay, hang on, let me explain!"

"You have one minute," Danny growled.

"I'm not the only ghost that can shapeshift. There's another, named Amara. Except that her power is different from mine. See, I can shapeshift into anyone and anything, but I don't gain anything from. Amara is different, though. She can shapeshift into anyone for the benefit of taking their energy, but she can only do it when someone is in a depressive state. She heard about the passing of your goth girl's grandmother and so she went after her. I've been trying to find her to stop her, but she's getting too powerful." Amorpho quickly said. When he didn't feel Danny release him, he brought his hands up to cover his face, "That's all I know, I promise!"

Scene ?

Not much changed in this scene. Basically, I flushed out more and added the whole paparazzi storyline into that chapter. This scene didn't include the pap.

He shifted into Phantom and stood in front of Sam to protect her from this unknown visitor.

"Danny?" Pamela called out as she opened the door, fully showing that it was her and Jeremy. Danny shifted back to Fenton as there was no current threat.

Pamela looked over to her daughter and ran to her side. "Samantha…" she said as she caressed her cheek.

Danny looked over to Jeremy, who placed a hand on his shoulder. He noticed Jeremy was holding back tears. "Thank you for saving her."

Danny held back his tears. "I didn't do anything."

"You brought her here in time. Thank you." Jeremy said as he walked to stand behind his wife.

Danny then heard the door open again and shifted into Phantom again. This time, his family, Tucker, who was now changed in dry clothes, and Tucker's parents entered.

"We came as soon as we heard," Maddie said. She gave her son a quick hug, then walked over to Pamela and Jeremy to comfort them.

Danny raised a questioning eyebrow at Tucker. Tucker shook his head, already understanding his question.

"I am not in the hospital. I am at the Victoria's Secret Model Fashion Runway…" Tucker gulped, closing his eyes momentarily. "Waiting for the Angels…"

Danny nodded.

Notes:

I feel awful for putting Sam through it... RIP Grandma Manson.

In case you were wondering, the song that Sam and her grandmother sang was "For Good," from Wicked.
