Chapter Text

“Serizawa?” Reigen paused in the street, the rain pelting his head.
“I’m sorry if I’m overstepping sir, I didn’t want you to walk in the dark all by yourself,” He didn’t mention that he was worried about Reigen’s mental state and wanted to subtly check on him.

“No, no, it’s all good,” Reigen turned back and kept walking, waiting for Serizawa to catch up and match his pace. He appeared by Reigen’s side and he looked up at the umbrella now shielding him from the downpour. He wordlessly thanked Serizawa with a small smile. He wasn’t in the mood for talking. Serizawa seemed to pick up on that so they walked in comfortable silence, the only noise being the rain hitting the plastic and the occasional car in the distance.

“I was planning on going to the cafe down the street after our 3 o’clock appointment.” Serizawa awkwardly mumbled. “If you wanted to like, come with me or something. Only if you want to though!” He stammered. He fidgeted with his coat sleeve, squeezing the rainwater out of it. Reigen looked up at him, and gently rested his hand on Serizawa’s arm to keep it from shaking.

“Yeah, I’d like that,” He smiled, but Serizawa noticed it didn’t look like his typical customer service, over the top smile. More of a soft, genuine one. The two walked in a comfortable silence, shielded from the rain until they came to stop at the bus stop. They stood there for a few beats, just listening to the patter of water. The bus came to a rolling stop and the door hissed and slid open.

“Have a good trip sir, I’ll see you soon. Take this for your walk to the clients house, it’s raining up north too,” Serizawa handed his umbrella to Reigen.

“You’ll be soaked on your walk back?” Reigen questioned with his umbrella in his hands. Before he could protest any more a loud honk came from behind him and the driver called for him to hurry up. He climbed up the stairs with a look back at Serizawa, waving goodbye. He waved back, the water already drenching his hair.

I hope he doesn’t get too wet on the way home. Reigen found a seat near the back and smiled through the window to his employee, who was still waiting at the bus stop who returned the smile.

Mob groggily pulled his blanket off himself. He looked out his window for a hint as to what time it was. He couldn’t tell specifically, the sunlight dampened by the gray clouds that covered the sky. He rolled over and pulled his phone down off his desk.

Oh no I slept in. He couldn’t remember if he had anything planned that day, but he didn’t like sleeping until noon. As soon as Mob attempted to stand an electric pain shot through his head. He winced and both his hands flew to his skull. He didn’t remember when he fell back onto the floor or what noise he made but he heard his door crash open and Ritsu come flying in.

“Shige! What’s wrong, are you okay?” Ritsu was instantly by Mob’s side on the floor, holding up his head and checking his body for any obvious injuries.

“I’m fine, Ritsu, just lost my balance. Why are you so on edge?” Mob brushed his brother’s hands off him and sat up.

“Sorry, last night was just kind of weird. I’m worried about you Shige.” Ritsu backed up a little.

“What do you mean? What happened last night?” Mob looked up at him, confusion displayed all over his face. “We just went to karaoke, do you mean Shou and his dad? Yeah I’m kind of worried about that too, that’s today isn’t it. Or are you still convinced Teru’s possessed or something.”

Ritsu faltered, “Do you.. Do you not remember?” his concern grew instantly when Mob just looked more confused. He ran the situation through his mind wondering if it would be easier for his brother to not know about this or if they’d need his help to work this out. Ritsu would rather Mob never have to worry about any of this stuff ever again, but realistically he knew that his brother was a key element in any situation involving psychic powers. I’ll just talk to his mentor about this, he’ll know what to do. “Nevermind, forget that. I gotta talk to Reigen later. Sorry big bro!” Ritsu plastered a big non-worrisome grin on his face and reached a hand out for Mob to take.

Mob watched his brother walk back out of his room, wondering what he was talking about. He brushed it off as maybe some weird dream he had. Or he was still worried about Teru or Shou. Probably that, he should be worried himself. I should call Shou today and ask him how his visit went. Or I could call Teru and ask him if… there’s nothing I could ask him. Oh maybe I’ll ask if he got home safe, people ask that right? I wish Dimple was here, he’d know what people call each other for. Where even is Dimple?

Mob startled out of his internal monologue by his mom’s shrill voice yelling up at him to go eat his breakfast before it got cold.
