Work Text:
far away from the thoughts of most in Camelot
lies a princess, lost to enchantment,
imprisoned by her father
it is not until the death of the one she had been enchanted with
that her mind is her own again,
free of any influence
the princess leaves her tower for the first time in many years
and, visiting Tintagel, encounters a phantom of its former lady
(they say she had driven herself mad
in the days before her death, having heard of the death
of the queen of Camelot and how the king had
banished her dear friend on pain of death,
before slaughtering her people)
the lady has finally been appeased
by the return of magic to Albion
and follows the princess to Camelot,
giving her blessings to her daughter’s former maidservant,
the current queen of Camelot
her daughters are at peace now,
their goal achieved,
though not how they had expected
the lady of Tintagel leaves the world of the living
and takes her place in the Otherworld
