Summary
Bones has been lying about his past. He was never married; he was never divorced. Instead, he was a victim of an experimental planet gone wrong.
100 years ago, in the far away reaches of space there was a colony on a planet. Starfleet had sent this colony out in hopes to build a research base to create new forms of organisms. The colony grew greater than anyone could have ever hoped and as time passed more and more people joined.
13 years ago, the leaders of the colony broke off from Starfleet and conducted a planet wide experiment. The experiment led to nearly a million lives lost from what was reported to be a plague. Anyone who survived the events were forced into secrecy by The Federation and all reports of there ever being a planet there in the first place were wiped from existence.
or Bones and Chekov are survivors of a zombie apocalypse planet and they're being monitored by The Federation too make sure they stay quiet. No one can know the truth it could ruin The Federation if word got out of their calamity failure. But once a crack in Leonard's lie starts to form it's not long before the whole thing crumbles from under his feel.
