Summary
You never actually saw a grown subjugglator in person before Alternia’s destruction. You had no reason to. You stayed in line, kept your head down, and did exactly what you were supposed to do, so you never stood out enough to be seen as a problem. In fact, very few of your friends from back on Alternia actually came into contact with any adult members of your species. Too young to enlist, too unassuming to pose a serious threat, plenty of you had aspirations of serving, yes, but- well. You all know how that turned out.
You suppose, then, that’s why Gamzee’s size following his molt catches all of you off guard.
