Chapter 1: I Don’t Like This…

Chapter Text

He was called up to the boss’s office.

Chuuya opened the door to the boss’s office and was met with a mission. Out of the city.

”Wait, a mission out of the city? Is that even possible?” Chuuya asked, completely confused about the whole thing.

”Yes, it is possible, which is why I’m having you and Dazai go. It’s incredibly important, so any mistakes will lead to punishment,” The boss, Mori, said, not caring about how weird it sounds.

”If you two look in the files I gave you, then you will see your role. Dazai, you will be infiltrating the main villain group, the League of Villains. You will find out their plans to try to get into Yokohama, and destroy their chances.” Mori explained to the tall brunette boy.

”And Chuuya,” Mori said, turning his gaze and attention to the short ginger. “You will pose as a student and sneak into a famous school of UA, as they also have plans to get into Yokohama. You will stop those plans from happening. Got it?”

Chuuya and Dazai nodded simultaneously.

”You’re both dismissed,” Mori said.

The two boys bowed in respect, then walked out the door.

“I hate this,” Chuuya mumbled, barely audible, but somehow Dazai heard what he said.

”It’s not that bad,” Dazai said.

”Yes, it is. We’ve both never been out of the city, and I wanted to keep it that way,” Chuuya said, obviously upset with the mission.

”You just don’t want to leave them behind, do you?”

“It’s not that I don’t want to, I can’t leave them.”

”…”

”…”

”Look, we can get someone to look after them.”

”If we can…” Chuuya mumbled, before walking away from Dazai.

”Hey, wait up!” Dazai called after Chuuya.

—————————

Dazai and Chuuya were outside the Port Mafia building. It was decent outside, not too cold but not too hot.

A black car pulled up in front of the two.

They got into the car, and the car drove off.

Dazai peered over at Chuuya, who was looking out the car window.

”Is my dog upset about having to leave the city?” Dazai asked, sneering.

”I’m not your dog,” Chuuya said, completely dodging the question.

Dazai leaned back in his seat, and fell asleep.

About 2 hours after driving, they neared a stop.

”Chuuya-san, this is your stop,” the driver said.

Chuuya opened the car door and stepped out. Musutafu seemed like a big city, but it was about midnight, and Chuuya was tired.

They had stopped in front of an apartment complex, and Chuuya already had the key to his room, thanks to the file. The hard part was finding his room.

A window rolled down, and Dazai’s face came into view.

”Now be a good dog and don’t mess anything up, okay?” Dazai said.

”Yeah yeah, whatever…” Chuuya responded, already walking away.

The car drove away, and Chuuya started walking towards the apartment complex.

After searching, he finally found his room. He unlocked the door, and stepped inside.

The apartment wasn’t small, but it wasn’t big either. When you walked in, a kitchen was to the direct left, with a living room straight ahead. The living room had a couch and a TV, with various little pieces of abstract art scattered around. After walking straight for a bit, there is a door, which opened to the bedroom. The bedroom had two twin sized beds, and there was another door to the left of the bedroom entrance, which was the bathroom.

Chuuya closed the front door behind him, locked it, and started walking towards the bedroom.

There was a window next to the bed near the end of the wall, and Chuuya decided to take that one.

He walked up to it, placed the file on the nightstand next to the bed, and fell on the bed. He would do stuff like unpacking tomorrow, but he was exhausted and just wanted to sleep.

Surprisingly, his brain actually let him sleep. Normally, he would just lay awake, and if he did sleep, he would just wake up from nightmares until he gave up and didn’t sleep.

Chapter 2: Mornings, New People and Beings

Chapter Text

That good nights sleep didn’t last long.

Chuuya woke up at about two in the morning, all because of a stupid nightmare.

”Ugh, I fucking hate these stupid ass nightmares,” Chuuya whispered to himself.

Now I won’t be able to go back to sleep, Chuuya thought, knowing that it’s true.

He sat up in his bed, rubbed his eye, and got up.

Well, if I’m not going to be able to go back to sleep, might as well make use of it. Chuuya thought.

He opened a drawer that was in the nightstand. Inside had the file, a lighter, and a pack of cigarettes.

Chuuya grabbed the pack of cigarettes and the lighter and walked over the window by his bed. A little smoke wouldn’t hurt, since he had nothing to do and wanted to wait until the morning to unpack.

He took a cigarette out of the pack, opened the window, and lit the cigarette.

He was leaning on the windowsill and his face was out of the window. He was careful to not leave any smoke residue inside the actual room, because he would be considered “too young” to smoke.

He called it bullshit though, he’d already been through enough torture to kill an adult.

You want to know why I think your brain won’t let you sleep?“ The god’s voice rang out from behind him.

”Not really, no,” Chuuya said, turning around to face the god.

It was black with a red outline flowing around its body, with the same corruption marks Chuuya had, just extended and glowing red. It had eyes in the same place as a normal humans, but there was one other eyeball on it’s forehead, and another one directly on it’s chest. It had a male-based body, despite not having an actual gender. It was a supernatural being, why need labels for that stuff? It also had pitch black wings sprouting from its shoulder blades, that also had a red outline. It was bald, with more marks covering its head.

The god, Arahabaki, looked down at Chuuya. It seemed to be roughly 7 feet tall, but that obviously wasn’t its real height.

“Well, I’m going to tell you anyway,” Arahabaki said, clearly not caring about Chuuya’s answer.

”It’s muscle memory,” it said. “Since you weren’t allowed to sleep back in the lab because of the experiments, your body and mind still believe that something bad will happen if you do sleep, so it doesn’t let you.”

”Oh,” Chuuya said quietly, turning back around to the window.

He put the cigarette back in his mouth, and inhaled. It seemed like the god was done talking, so might as well take advantage of it.

He took the cigarette out and, after a moment, exhaled, starting the process over again.

—————————

It was about 6 am, and the sun was shining through the closed window Chuuya had used just 4 hours beforehand.

He started unpacking the little amount of things he brought with him, just essential items like clothes, a toothbrush and toothpaste, his phone, and other things.

He walked into the bathroom to take a shower, and saw something in the mirror.

Something… non humane.

Himself.

He looked into the mirror and saw his tired self looking back at him.

He closed his eyes and started to take off his clothes. He stopped when he took his shirt off, revealing scars covering his entire upper body, big and small. There were 4 most prominent scars, that were probably never going to fade. Just above the scattered scars, there was…

a bunch of bandages..?

Right, his binder broke a year ago back in the lab. He had been using bandages to bind his chest down, but the effort seemed pointless now. His chest had swollen more from something, but he would never say what.

He looked away and unwrapped the bandages. No bother in dwelling over something that didn’t matter.

When he was completely undressed, he stepped into the porcelain shower, closing the curtains.

The water turned on, and warm water pelted his body.

————————

He decided to step out of his apartment, and was met with a bright, illuminated hallway.

Dazai wanted to meet with him to exchange some information about the league.

After getting his eyes to adjust a bit, he was met with an unfamiliar voice.

”Hey, kid, I haven’t seen you around. Are you new here?” a mysterious voice of a woman came from behind him.

Chuuya turned around and saw a woman, probably about 40, with chubby arms and legs, standing by the door to what Chuuya assumed was her apartment. She had a bright smile on her face, accompanied by her bright brown eyes and dark brown hair with grey and white streaks.

”Uh, yeah, I am,” Chuuya responded after a moment.

”Oh, well my name is Shimizu Akari! Nice to meet you,” Akari said, practically running over to Chuuya to shake his hand.

”My name is Nakahara Chuuya, nice to meet you Shimizu-san,” Chuuya said, trying to match her tone.

”Where are you going off to, Nakahara-kun?” Akari asked Chuuya.

”Just to go meet someone,” Chuuya replied quickly.

”Well then, I probably shouldn’t hold you off any longer. Bye for now, Nakahara-kun!”

”Bye, Shimizu-san.”

————————

“What took you so long, chibi?” Dazai interrogated Chuuya, annoyed.

”Chill, the person in the apartment next to mine wanted to say hi,” Chuuya responded, putting his hands up in a mocked surrender as he approached Dazai.

”Whatever,” Dazai rolled his eyes at Chuuya’s gesture.

”Anyway,” Dazai said. “I wanted to tell you that I found the leagues base, and I told them that I wanted to be their new member. They don’t necessarily trust me, but they haven’t driven me away either, so I call it a win.”

”Really? Well that’s good,” Chuuya said.

“You just want this mission done and over with, don’t you?” Dazai teased.

”Yes, I do, actually,” Chuuya responded stiffly.

The two stayed silent for a moment, then parted. That was really the only thing they had met up for.

Chapter Text

After another boring day, Chuuya collapsed on the couch in his living room.

He was starving, but knew the limited amount of food his body allowed him to actually eat. It wasn’t that much.

Reluctantly, he stood up, and walked over to the kitchen. There were cooking utensils, but there wasn’t many of them. The fridge was relatively empty too, but it didn’t matter.

Just then, he heard a knock at the door.

He walked over to open it, and was met with a familiar face.

”Shimizu-san?” Chuuya asked, completely unaware of her intent.

”Hey, Nakahara-kun, I just wanted to ask if you wanted this leftover food. I made a little too much, and I didn’t want to waste it,” Akari explained.

”Oh! Well, uh, sure,” Chuuya stammered after a moment.

Akari handed the plastic bag that contained a container of ramen over to Chuuya, and Chuuya reluctantly took it gratefully from her.

They exchanged goodbyes and Chuuya closed the door.

He carried the bag over to the island in the middle of the kitchen and set it down.

He didn’t want to eat it just yet, despite the hospitality Akari gave him.

He exited the kitchen and closed the door to the bedroom behind him.

————————

“Hey, so, what’s your name?” a blonde female asked Dazai. She had messy space buns, straight across bangs, and what looked like a school uniform on.

”My name is Dazai, Dazai Osamu,” Dazai replied to the girl. “What’s your name?”

”Toga. Toga Himiko,” Toga said, a smile widening on her face.

The two of them were told to wait in a bar, which Dazai assumed was their hideout, while the two that took charge (and the strongest) went out to investigate something.

”Mind if I do something?” Dazai asked, looking at Toga.

”No, but what do you plan on doing?” Toga asked, confused.

Dazai put a hand into one of his pockets and pulled out a box.

”Wait, you smoke? How old are you?” Toga asked.

“Seventeen,” Dazai responded simply.

”You’re weird,” Toga said, just staring at Dazai with a slightly disgusted expression.

Dazai chucked, before pulling a light out of his pocket. He’d already taken a single cigarette out and was lighting it. After the white end caught fire, he closed the light and put it back into his pocket.

He put the cigarette’s orange bit into his mouth slightly, just his lips touching it. He inhaled, then took it out almost immediately. He exhaled after a moment, a mix of both light and dark smoke exiting his mouth and the lightened end of the cigarette.

He repeated this process over and over until the door to the bar opened.

Dazai looked over and saw the “leader” of the group, who was called Shigeraki. Next to him was a man who had purple burn scars littering his body, majorly around his arms and face, who was named Dabi.

”So, did you find anything?” Toga asked Dabi.

”Nope, nothing,” Dabi answered.

Dazai looked away. He didn’t want anything to with this conversation.

This place is so fucking boring, Dazai thought.

————————

Boom!

An explosion, Chuuya thought.

It was the next day, and he decided to take a walk and see the city, because he had been doing nothing the past two days.

Chuuya looked over to where the sound was coming from, and saw a crowd forming.

Instinctively, he walked over to the crowd. As much as he didn’t like crowds and people as a whole, he was curious to see what was causing the commotion, so he didn’t really care.

He stood next to this green haired kid, who had on what looked like a school uniform, and was clutching a burned notebook that looked like it had been through hell.

”What the hell…” Chuuya muttered under his breath, but apparently the green haired kid heard.

”Are you.. not from around here.?” the kid asked Chuuya with a shaky voice.

Chuuya hummed in confusion before looking at the kid and nodding.

”Oh, well I’m pretty sure this is a villain attack. But it seems like the heroes have it under control, so don’t worry,” the kid said, basically monologuing, but he said it with a smile.

That was when Chuuya noticed he had a black eye.

He hadn’t seen it before, but it didn’t look like it was given by himself. Someone else gave him it.

Another student? An adult? Who knows.

The kid caught on.

”Ah, you noticed it, huh?” the kid said, clearly looking uncomfortable. “Don’t worry, I’m fine.” He added reassuringly.

Chuuya nodded before turning back to where the villain was.

It had been apprehended by police, clearly not an actual issue.

”Hey, you said you weren’t from around here, so do you want to be my friend?” the kid asked, looking a little excited.

Chuuya turned his attention back to the kid, and nodded.

They exchanged numbers before heading off.

Chapter Text

Ring!

The sound of Chuuya’s phone ringing startled him, though it shouldn’t have. He should be used to these surprises by now.

Chuuya picked up the phone and say the caller ID.

It was the kid from the day before, whose name was Midoriya Izuku.

Chuuya answered the call.

”Hey, Chuuya-kun!” Izuku said excitedly.

Chuuya had insisted beforehand for Izuku to not call him by his family name, because he didn’t want to be reminded of the events that happened a year prior, specifically, Dr. N, or Dr. Nakahara. While Chuuya knew that N only called himself Chuuya’s father as a manipulation tactic, Chuuya had taken N’s family name simply because he couldn’t remember his when he was found by the sheep.

”Oh, hey, Midoriya-kun,” Chuuya said, not really trying to match Izuku’s tone. It was relatively early, just about 8 am.

”I told you, you can just call me Izuku,” Izuku said, his upbeat tone faltering into a more frustrated one.

”Oh, sorry Izuku-kun,” Chuuya said.

”It’s fine,” Izuku responded. “Anyway, I wanted to ask you if you are doing anything today.”

”Uh, I don’t think so, no,” Chuuya replied.

”Well, uh, do you want to train for the entrance exam with me?” Izuku asked.

Chuuya had forgotten that he’d told Izuku about him wanting to go to UA, and that Izuku wanted to, as well.

”I mean, sure,” Chuuya replied.

”Okay, there is a scrap yard over by an alleyway, text me your address and I’ll meet you there,” Izuku said.

”Okay,” Chuuya replied.

They hung up and Chuuya texted the apartment address.

He stood up from his bed and put some clothes on. It was his normal mafia outfit, because he didn’t really have a lot else.

He picked up the hat he had gotten the year before. It said ‘Rimbaud’ on the inside of it, and Chuuya just held the hat in his hands. He only decided to wear it not too long ago, but it still felt wrong for him to be wearing something that never truly belonged to him. Nonetheless, he put it on.

He grabbed his phone and put it into his pocket, along with his keys. He opened the front door to his apartment and walked out, locking the door behind him.

————————

After waiting for a while, Chuuya saw Izuku’s face coming towards him.

Izuku had an eyepatch over his black eye, and he had some normal clothes on, instead of his uniform. It was the weekend, so there wasn’t a reason for him to be wearing it anyway.

”Alright, just follow me to the scrap yard,” Izuku said, grabbing Chuuya by the wrist.

After walking, the two made it to the scrap yard.

”Alright, what kind of training do we do?” Chuuya asked.

”I was thinking some combat training,” Izuku replied.

Chuuya smiled slightly. He was skilled in combat. This kid had no idea who he was dealing with.

”Okay,” Chuuya said. “You can start first.”

Izuku put his arms up in a fighting position and lunged towards Chuuya.

Chuuya stepped to the side, dodging Izuku’s puny attack.

”No offense, but you’re not going to be able to defeat anyone with raw strength,” Chuuya said bluntly.

“How so?” Izuku asked, getting up from the ground.

”Well, first off, your form is just all wrong,” Chuuya said. “Second, you’re only attacking using your own raw strength. In real battles, you need to strategize, then attack using multiple methods, not just raw strength.”

”If you know so much, then you don’t you attack?” Izuku said, dropping any previous energy and just sounding condescending.

”Alright,” Chuuya said, activating his ability.

His body was outlined in a red glow, similar, if not identical, to Arahabaki’s. After all, his ability isn’t actually his.

Chuuya tossed up a piece of metal from the ground and held it in the air with his ability. He then flipped onto it, appearing to float.

”Hey, wait, is using your quirk cheating?” Izuku asked.

”No, of course not,” Chuuya said, dumbfounded by the question. “In real battles, not using your quirk is stupid, because then you’re just an easy target for death.”

Izuku listened, looking up at Chuuya while he explained.

”Oh,” he said after the lecture was over.

”So,” Chuuya said. “What exactly is your quirk?”

”It’s a strengthening one, nothing special.” Izuku replied. “So, what’s yours?”

“Oh, mines called ‘Upon The Tainted Sarrow’, and it allows me to manipulate the gravity of objects and other people, myself included,” Chuuya explained.

”Really? That’s cool,” Izuku said. “But how exactly am I supposed to fight you up there?”

”Use your head,” Chuuya said.

Izuku stood there, thinking.

At last, it looked like he finally came up with something.

Izuku reached down and grabbed a piece of metal, and threw it at Chuuya. It didn’t even reach him, but now at least Chuuya had something to do.

Izuku continued throwing the scraps, and Chuuya continued to run around and dodge them.

Either he has terrible aim, or he’s trying to tire me out, Chuuya thought.

After a bit of Izuku just throwing the metal pieces and Chuuya dodging, Chuuya got down and deactivated his ability.

Izuku threw another piece of metal at Chuuya, and Chuuya caught it like it was nothing.

It was clear that Izuku was tired, but it didn’t seem like he wanted to give up.

”So, did you use your quirk at all?” Chuuya asked.

”Uh, no,” Izuku replied.

”Why not?”

Izuku hesitated before responding.

”Because I can’t control it.”

Chuuya started walking towards Izuku.

“Can you show me your quirk?” Chuuya asked Izuku directly.

”Like I said, I can’t control it, so no,” Izuku responded firmly.

The two went back and forth with each other, with Chuuya insisting Izuku use his quirk, and Izuku saying no repeatedly.

”Just show me it, damnit!”

”Hell no!”

”Come on, it’s not like your going to do much-“

PUNCH!

A direct hit to Chuuya’s nose.

Blood started gushing out immediately, and Chuuya stumbled backwards. He caught a glimpse of Izuku’s hand, and it was purple, with red lines twisting around it. Chuuya assumed it was broken.

”Fuck!” Chuuya exclaimed.

Izuku immediately ran over.

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry! Are you okay?” Izuku asked.

Chuuya looked down and could see blood staining his gloves. It brought back memories he didn’t want to see again.

Izuku ran up to Chuuya, genuinely concerned.

”I’m fine…” Chuuya said, standing up straight.

”I’m still coming with you to your apartment,” Izuku insisted.

”Whatever,” Chuuya muttered under his breath.

The two walked over to the apartment complex.

When they reached the building’s front doors, Izuku said he had to go home, which was probably code for ‘I need to go to the hospital because my whole ass arm is broken or something.’

They exchanged goodbyes and Izuku apologized again. Chuuya kept insisting it was fine.

Chuuya opened the door to the apartment complex and started up the stairs. Once he reached to floor, he say a familiar face.

”Shimizu-san?” Chuuya asked.

”Hey kid- whoa, what the hell happened to you?” Akari asked.

”Nothing…” Chuuya responded.

”Well, you’re coming with me to get you cleaned up,” Akari insisted.

Chuuya didn’t even try to back out, he was tired and the blood didn’t stop flowing.

Akari opened the door to her apartment, and led Chuuya inside.

She told Chuuya to sit down on the couch, and Chuuya immediately passed out.

RING!

Of course it’s that stupid bitch…

Chuuya had just woken up after almost literally dying, and Dazai had the bright idea to call now.

”What in the actual hell do you want?” Chuuya asked, his annoyance not even trying to hide.

See, Chuuya’s body never had the chance to fully heal since the incident in stormbringer. When he was impaled with 8 stakes that, made it impossible to even breathe, since there were also multiple types of drugs and electrical charges also finding home in his incredibly weakened body, he lost most of the blood in his body. While after the incident, where Arahabaki regenerated about 1/4 of his blood, because Arahabaki’s regenerative powers aren’t the best because it was made to destroy everything, his own body still couldn’t actually recover. So, with that, even a simple nosebleed poses as life threatening for Chuuya.

”Oh, you just finally answer my calls, and that is your response? You’re a terrible dog, you know that?” Dazai’s teasing tone rang through Chuuya’s ears.

”Just answer that question,” Chuuya said flatly.

”Well, I honestly just wanted to check in on you,” Dazai said.

Chuuya sat on his bed, stunned. Dazai had never really shown to care, until the last few months.

”Hello? Are you still alive?” Dazai asked, and Chuuya realized that he was silent for longer than he had hoped.

”Uh, yeah, I guess,” Chuuya said quietly. “But why do you want to check in on me?”

“Well, because one, you hadn’t spoken to me for a day, and two, because your a mental case, currently,” Dazai responded truthfully.

”…”

”…”

“…”

”Well, anyway, glad to hear that you’re alive, and I’ll call you later. Be a good dog for me, okay?” Dazai, said, breaking the silence with his normal, teasing tone.

”Uh huh, bye.”

Chuuya laid back on his bed, and then his phone rang. Again.

Chuuya looked at the contact name and saw ‘Midoriya’ pop up.

”Oh! Chuuya-kun, you picked up! Sorry about.. what happened earlier,” Izuku said.

”You’re still apologizing? It’s fine, you don’t have to get all worked up about it,” Chuuya said reassuringly. “Anyway, do you need something?”

”Well I wanted to ask if you wanted to work on the written portion of the exam, since I don’t think the physical part worked well…”

Wait, why would the make a written portion? Chuuya thought, obviously being an idiot.

”I mean, sure,” Chuuya responded.

”Great! Do you want to do it at my house, or yours?”

”I think yours would work best, saying I’m not actually all that prepared for the exam. Plus, I don’t think you can leave with a broken wrist anyway.”

”Yeah, you’re right about that… anyway, I’ll text you the address. Bye!”

”Bye.”

———————————

Finally, after a while, Chuuya had arrived at the address Izuku had texted him.

It was a relatively small house, but it seemed cosy. Chuuya knocked on the door, and a short woman, who he confirmed was Izuku’s mother, answered.

”Izuku! Your friend is here!” She called out, and led Chuuya inside. Izuku came out of his room and lit up when he saw Chuuya. In contrast, Chuuya was relatively tired, due to the fact he did not sleep at all the past two nights.

Izuku grabbed Chuuya’s wrist and led him into his room.

Holy shit, this kid is a complete fanboy, was literally Chuuya’s first thought upon being dragged to Izuku’s bedroom.

Figures and posters lined his bedroom, of this guy named

All Might?

Whoever he was, he was famous, and Izuku was obsessed.

”Sorry for my room being a bit of a mess,” Izuku said quietly.

”Nah, it’s fine. Mines probably worse, to be honest,” Chuuya reassured Izuku.

And no, he was not talking about the apartment he has currently in Musutafu.

”Anyway, I have all the textbooks we will probably need to study,” Izuku said, gesturing at the pile of neatly stacked books on heroism.

It honestly made Chuuya recoil, seeing what people think heroism is. While he doesn’t consider himself a hero, mainly just a criminal, he finds it weird that people always stereotype what heroism means to saving people and bullshit.

The two studied for a few hours, and was interrupted by Izuku’s mom, whom was called Inko, with the fact that dinner was ready.

Chuuya froze like a deer in headlights. He did not want to have to explain that he can barely eat, nor why he can’t.

”You know you don’t have to eat with us, or I could just ask my mom if we could eat in here,” Izuku said calmingly. Chuuya did not realize that his discomfort was obvious until Izuku pointed it out.

Chuuya just stared at Izuku like he was from another planet. Chuuya was almost never offered a chance to not eat with someone, if he was even allowed. The only person who gave him that privilege was Dazai, and Dazai barely ate either, so they were on the same boat.

Izuku got up and gave Chuuya a pitiful look, then opened the door and walked out of the room.

”Mom, are we able to eat in my room?” Izuku asked his mother. Though it was muffled slightly to Chuuya, he couldn’t help but smile. It was the first time someone had actually been relatively nice to him, since the flags had died.

”Sure,” Inko responded, sounding a little disappointed.

Izuku took both plates of food, one on his cast, balanced perfectly, and the other in his non injured hand. Once he was back in the room, he gave Chuuya the plate in his hand, and took the other one for himself.

”Here, I can make some room on the desk,” Izuku offered, already moving books.

Chuuya stayed silent. He didn’t like this, but he didn’t want to appear as rude, either.

After a moment of Izuku eating, and Chuuya just staring at it, Izuku finally asked Chuuya, “what’s wrong? You haven’t even touched your food.”

Chuuya hesitated, before saying, “I’m not that hungry.”

It wasn’t a complete lie, he genuinely couldn’t eat right now, but he still felt bad for the reasoning. Izuku was a pure and happy kid, and Chuuya didn’t like lying to him.

”Oh,” Izuku said quietly. “I can take your food, then.”

Chuuya didn’t reply, and just let Izuku take the plate away.

Izuku came back a moment later and stayed quiet, which was awkward for both of them. Finally, it had gotten late, so Chuuya had to go home.

”Before you go, I have a question,” Izuku said as Chuuya stood up to leave.

”Yeah?” Chuuya responded quickly.

”Why is your chest more… what’s the word… protruding?”

Chuuya froze, and he stared at Izuku with an intensity he only had ever used on Dazai and N.

”Ah, you don’t have to answer that,” Izuku said quickly. “I was just curious…”

Chuuya sighed, lowering his gaze.

”No, I don’t want to lie to you, come over to my place tomorrow at around 15:00 (3 pm),” Chuuya said, looking at Izuku once more, but more calmly this time. “I’ll text you the address tonight.”

”Alright,” Izuku replied.

After walking, Chuuya finally made it to his apartment. He opened the door and stepped inside. It was around 21:30 (9:30 pm), and it had been a long day, and all he wanted was some sleep.

He stepped into the bedroom, and he took his shirt off. He had some nightwear prepared on the bed, and he honestly didn’t want to deal with anything or anyone right then.

He unwrapped the bandages around his chest that had been suffocating him all day. He quickly put the shirt laid out in front of him on.

He finished changing and flipped onto his bed, and instantly drifted into a deep sleep.

Chapter Text

The blinding light of the sun woke Chuuya from his surprising slumber.

’Holy shit, did I actually sleep through the night for once?’ Chuuya wondered.

He sat up, and remembered that he had something planned. Something he should definitely mentally prepare for.

Izuku was coming over. Because Chuuya didn’t like lying to his face.

He stood up, and instantly recoiled and sat back down. There was a crippling pain in his chest, and he didn’t even have his makeshift binder on.

Tears beaded at the corner of his eyes, and he didn’t try to stop them. He flopped back onto his bed, and just stared at the ceiling with bleary eyes.

He missed the two little demonic beings he had to leave behind in Yokohama.

The wave of emotion didn’t last long, though. Just about a minute. He sat back up, his heart throbbing in pain. He just wanted to go back to Yokohama, and the mission barely started.

He opened the top drawer of the dresser next to his bed, and pulled out a bottle of pills. Painkillers. He needed them desperately. He opened the container’s lid and pulled 3 out.

’That should be enough,’ he thought, before popping them into his mouth. He remembered a trick that Dazai had taught him if he couldn’t get water, for whatever the reason. The trick was to make a pool of saliva and put the pills on the tongue, and swallow. It was a nice trick, especially in this situation, where Chuuya was in too much pain to move.

Once the pain killers started working, Chuuya stood up, and actually stayed up. He grabbed his phone to check the time, and it read 6:30.

’Oh, so I have some hours before he comes,’ Chuuya remarked.

———————————

KNOCK!

There was someone at the door, and Chuuya opened it. There, stood Izuku. Nothing had changed with him, except his clothing.

Izuku looked down at Chuuya, and realized that his chest was protruding even more. Almost like a… woman’s?

Chuuya gestured for Izuku to come in more. Once Izuku was fully inside, Chuuya closed the door.

“Follow me,” Chuuya said to Izuku, and Izuku just nodded and followed.

They walked to the bedroom door, and Chuuya opened it without saying anything. They both walked inside, and Chuuya closed that door behind them, too.

Chuuya sighed. He didn’t like the idea of admitting his own personal secrets, but he didn’t like the idea of lying to a kid that had been nothing but kind to him.

“So, what is this about?” Izuku asked.

”Like I said yesterday, I don’t want to lie to you about myself,” Chuuya answered, not making eye contact. “I’m assuming you can connect the dots based on my appearance alone, but if you’re really that stupid then I’ll tell you.”

“Wait did you just indirectly call me stupid?”

”Maybe. So can you figure it out or do you want that ‘maybe’ to be true?”

Izuku paused for a moment, as if to think. After a minute, he finally looked like he came up with something.

”Wait, are you trans?” Izuku asked Chuuya, looking to have finally figured it out.

”Bingo,” Chuuya responded simply.

”Oh, okay, but that doesn’t explain why you didn’t eat last night.”

”You just want to know everything, don’t you?”

”…”

”Okay then, I have an eating disorder, to put it simply.”

”Oh, damn.”

”Yeah, it sucks.”

”…”

”…”

”…”

”So, do you have any other questions before I send you home or whatever?” Chuuya asked Izuku.

”Uh, just one, but you don’t have to answer it if you don’t want to,” Izuku said quickly.

”Hit me.”

”Okay, then. Just a random one, but do you have any kids? Sorry, it’s just that your chest reminds me of my mom’s.”

”Oh, I actually do.”

”Wait, are you serious?”

”Yeah. I have two demonic little girls that like to make it impossible to sleep at night.”

”Oh wow, where are they right now, if I might add.”

”Uh, they’re currently staying with my mom,” Chuuya says, lying. He doesn’t know if he has an actual mom, and the kids are at his apartment in Yokohama, with Kouyou.

”Ah, alright. Can I ask one more question before leaving?” Izuku asks.

”If that doesn’t count as one, then sure.”

”What are their names?”

”Shoka and Nika.”

”Those are really cute names.”

”Ah, thank you. But, I think it’s time for you to go.”

”Ah! You’re probably right.”

”By the way, please don’t tell anyone about this nor my secrets, okay?”

”I won’t tell a soul! Anyway, goodbye, Chuuya-kun!” Izuku said, halfway out the door.

Chuuya just waved. Once the door had closed, he went over and sat on his bed. He picked up his phone and called someone.

”Hello?” The other voice asked.

”Hey, Ane-san,” Chuuya said to the other voice.

”Ah, Chuuya-kun, do you need something?” Kouyou asks Chuuya.

”Yeah, I just wanted to know if Shoka and Nika were alright.”

”Of course you do, you’re overprotective of them, aren’t you?”

“I mean, yeah, they’re my tiny little demons, and I don’t want anything to happen to them while I’m not there.”

”Makes sense, and they’re doing just fine, so you don’t have to worry. Also, how is your mission going?”

”Ah, we’ve gotten nothing so far, although Dazai has gotten into the league, the entrance exam for UA is about a week away.”

”I understand. Is that all?”

”Yeah.”

”Well then, goodbye, Chuuya-kun.”

”Bye, Ane-san.”

Notes:

Guys please don’t actually try out the pill trick I have no idea if it works or not I just made it up please don’t actually try it

Also I am aware that Kouyou doesn’t call Chuuya that, it just seemed more appropriate and right

Chapter 7: Feelings. They Suck.

Summary:

Some dazai pov yay

Chapter Text

RING! RING!

That asshole wouldn’t pick up.

Dazai was standing in an alleyway, cigarette in mouth, phone in hand, and Chuuya wasn’t picking up his phone.

Dazai had just called Mori to report some things about the League because he refuses to write normal reports, especially if they can get intercepted by people he doesn’t want knowing about missions.

So, he had the bright idea to try and call Chuuya after.

”Why won’t that son of a bitch pick the hell up?!” Dazai whispered to himself in a furious tone.

He closed the phone and took the cigarette out of his mouth. He didn’t like the idea of staying with people whom were called “villains” like it was a derogatory term, but he had no other options. He didn’t want to go to some dumb school, not again, at least.

In all honesty, Dazai had actually missed Chuuya a bit. He was the only one who didn’t pester him all the time, the one who didn’t push when he seemed upset, the one who… cared. Chuuya hadn’t yelled at him when he found out that Dazai was cutting himself. He didn’t ask when Dazai seemed more tired than usual. He didn’t mind when Dazai would come over at night when he couldn’t sleep. Dazai said that he hated Chuuya, but it wasn’t true at all. Dazai loved Chuuya dearly, more than a friend. More than anyone, actually. He missed the slug, even if he was annoying at times.

Dazai opened his phone and called Chuuya again. This time, however, Chuuya picked up.

”Slug! Why haven’t you been answering my calls?” Dazai angrily shouted into the phone, letting out more emotion than he wanted.

”Oh, sorry, I didn’t have my phone with me,” Chuuya responded, sounding tired and dead.

Dazai hadn’t realized how much he truly missed the slug.

“Any new information?” Dazai asked Chuuya flatly.

”No, not yet,” Chuuya answered.

The two remained in an awkward silence, before Dazai broke it.

”Do you know how the kids are doing?”

Chuuya audibly gasped quietly, before answering.

”They’re doing fine, I think. Hopefully we can get back to them soon.”

”I understand.”

”…”

”Welp, bye slug, be a good doggie for me.”

”I’m not your dog, but whatever, bye.”

Dazai closed the phone and stood, leaning his back against the brick wall behind him. His face was red, and he looked weird. He put his head in his hands, and slid down the wall.

Dazai seriously did not realize how much he had missed Chuuya.

Dazai was just about madly in love with Chuuya. He just wouldn’t admit it. And after finally hearing his voice after days, he just couldn’t take it anymore.

His face burned with embarrassment and humiliation, knowing that he could no be in love with his sworn enemy.

”I’m the fucking Demon Prodigy. I cannot be in love with Chuuya of all people!” He kept thinking over and over.

His braces were grinding up against each other due to how much Dazai had his jaw clenched. His hands were in fists so hard his palms started bleeding.

When he had finally calmed down, he made his way back to the league headquarters, aka some bar. When he walked through the door, he was met with Toga right up in his face.

”Where have you been, Dazai?” Toga asked Dazai furiously and directly.

”Uh, I was making some phone calls,” Dazai answered truthfully.

”Oh, okay then,” Toga responded. And just like that, she was gone.

Dazai sighed and looked at the remaining members that were in the room. Shigeraki was gone, once again, but Dabi seemed to be staring at Dazai intensely.

”Something wrong, Dabi?” Dazai asked Dabi, with the biggest, fakest smile ever.

”Nah, I’m just wondering why you have so many bandages on your body,” Dabi shrugged while answering.

Dazai’s smile fell into a neutral expression from far away, though it was clear it was something else. Fury? Tiredness? No one could tell.

Toga suddenly appeared out of thin air, and told Dabi to stop asking things he probably doesn’t want answers to. And it was true. He didn’t want to know what was under the bandages. New and old scars from himself and other people littered underneath, the old ones mainly from his parents and people at his old school.

Dazai stared at Dabi intensely, before closing his eyes and sighing once again.

”This is going to be a long mission,” Dazai thought to himself.

Chapter Text

At last, the day had finally come.

It was time for the UA entrance exam to see who actually gets to pass and study in the prestigious school.

Chuuya and Izuku met along the way, and walked to the school together. The whole walk, Izuku was yapping about how scared he was and Chuuya was trying to comfort him (which he is very bad at doing).

After walking for about ten-ish minutes, they finally came to the giant gates, marking the UA plot. Chuuya and Izuku gazed at the massive building in awe. The file that Chuuya received at the beginning of the mission had a picture of UA, but he didn’t realize it would be so big. Once the two wrapped their heads back to reality, they followed some other kids to what looked like an auditorium. There, they were met with an adult who split them up and sent them to different sections. Chuuya was about three rows in front of Izuku, probably because they organized it by height. Once everyone settled down, a yellow haired person walked to the stage.

”Hello, UA applicants!” The yellow haired man shouted joyously. Chuuya winced at the loudness. He wasn’t used to it at all.

Everyone just stayed silent. It was maybe about 9:30 (9:30 am), so most people were half asleep.

”Wow, you guys don’t seem to be excited, so I’ll cut straight to the point,” the man on the stage said in a disappointed tone.

’Thank god,’ Chuuya thought. He didn’t want any other useless yapping, he just wanted this over with.

After what felt like forever of the man, whose name was apparently Present Mic or whatever, explaining and of some nerd pointing Midoriya out, in which Chuuya wanted to commit a crime against that nerd, they finally let the applicants begin the written test. They were given one hour, but Chuuya knew he could probably finish in maybe 30-40 something minutes.

After about 25 minutes of Chuuya recalling answers, he finally came across the last question.

’What qualifications make a hero?’

Chuuya sat there, staring at his paper. His pencil stopped twirling in his fingers, something he did as a nervous habit for whatever reason. He repeated the question over and over in his head, trying to make sense of it.

Everyone around him just looked at him like he was stupid. Like it was an easy question. It probably was, for ordinary people, that is. But he wasn’t ordinary. Hell, he wasn’t even human. He was just a teenager who had a crime history since he was maybe about thirteen.

After a few minutes, he finally started writing stuff down. He wasn’t really paying attention, it was just his thoughts. Under the question, it read:

’The qualifications that make a hero are based on their ability to do stuff. There is no right answer, it’s just opinion. Most people would write down ‘saving people’ but I’m not most people. The qualifications are for that hero to understand the situation of society, and to understand that some people can’t be saved. Sure, saving people is part of the job, but it’s not everything. It’s not even ten percent of it. Heroes are people who take care of people when situations are tough, who can tell which people need saving, who can tell people it’s okay when it isn’t. That is what makes a hero.’

Okay, maybe he went a little overboard, but it was decent enough for people to not suspect him. Maybe. Anyway, he put his pencil down and just looked at the letters lining the page.

It seemed crazy that he, a literal mafia member since fifteen, was answering questions about heroism. It made him reflect of what could’ve possibly happened for him to end up in this situation.

After forever, the one hour finally ended, and their papers were collected. They were led to their respective gates for the second phase.

Chuuya wasn’t in the same one as Izuku, and it kind of disappointed him. He knew no one else, but he knew why that was.

After arriving at the gate, he saw a lot of people. Weird looking people. But it didn’t matter. He was used to that.

The Present Mic person started talking into a megaphone, and the gates started opening.

’This is it,’ Chuuya thought.

Notes:

I have a band concert tomorrow wish me luck guys

Also sorry if the chapter is kinda short

Chapter 9: NOT AN ACTUAL CHAPTER

Summary:

I just want to update yall on my band concert

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

So this isn’t an actual chapter for the storyline, I just want to rant about my band concert that I just came back from ❤️

So the songs were played decent enough, the trumpets were obnoxious as usual at the end, percussion was percussion, we were missing a clarinet (they lowkey weren’t relevant anyway), and the woodwinds were trying not to die.

Anyway, once we got off the stage and joined the audience (to watch that next performance), this kid, who we will call L, was on his phone THE WHOLE TIME. Like through the performance and everything. Like he was on (in order) some RPG game, geometry dash, block blast, geometry dash AGAIN, and he went to safari and doomscrolled YouTube shorts. Like can you not be any more disrespectful? He was complete ASS at playing too.

Anyway, the other band after mine was absolutely COOKING AND FRYING mine. Like, their percussion got an ENTIRE song TO THEMSELVES, the flutes could hold notes longer than 4 beats, percussion could back off, the trumpets actually played, the slap sticks made me jump, and it was overall a really, and I mean REALLY, wonderful performance.

At the end, someone got to pie our band director in the face and my band made her do the 67 motion (she’s gonna cook us tomorrow).

Anyway, that was my band concert in a recap, and the next chapter will be of the physical part of the entrance exam! See you then!

:)

Notes:

Band is so fun guys

Notes:

So this is really a typical bsd x mha fanfic, but with my own AU-specific twists.

The other bsd x mha will be discontinued, but will stay up in this platform.
