   Summary

   The doctors said it was a miracle Shen Yuan had woken up. A coma for three years plus a stroke have left him struggling with the basic tasks of daily living. But more concerning than the abilities he lost to his illness are the things he mysteriously gained: muscle memory of skills he never learned, habits and tastes more suited to a bygone era, and a strange, powerful grief for something he doesn’t remember.
