The fairy's voice was hoarse, as if the bottom of her throat had been rubbed with sandpaper. Each word carried a dry, bloody smell. But her fingers were exceptionally gentle, with thin calluses on the pads, gently brushing aside the sweat-soaked bangs on Blueberry's forehead, revealing the unfocused eyes beneath.
"I'll give you everything."
He bent down, his breath brushing against Blueberry's scorching earlobe, carrying the scent of tobacco and some kind of old paper.
"Magic, alchemy, prophetic dreams, and..."
He paused for a moment, his fingertips resting on the other's brow bone, tracing the direction of the youth's bones. Blueberry's eyelashes quivered, perhaps due to the hallucinations brought on by intense exercise, or perhaps because of the teasing of the fairy before him.
