As a recovering addict forced into rehab sessions at his old church, Jayce never expected to meet someone like Viktor. When they're forced into studying scripture together, they quickly learn just how similar they are, swapping scathing comments about God and the feeling of being left behind in a world that demands they heal, despite no longer wanting to. Mutual obsession quickly blooms between them as they share in each other's misery and their lack of hope for the future. Brightness exists between them for moments, breathing life back into them between verses of scripture and talks of saints.
