Chapter 1: Welcome to My Summer Vacation.

Chapter Text

The first day of summer vacation… the sun shines down, with heat just ever so slightly increasing every minute. Don’t you just love it?

I groggily woke up from my sleep and got out of bed. I stretched as I went to choose some clothes for my date, which isn’t as fancy as my first date but hey, they’re good for the heat and nice. I put my sun hat on and my ring. I looked into the mirror and nodded with satisfaction.

I feel like I should introduce myself again just in case since this is a spinoff story. I’m Catnap, and I consider myself a normal critter. Well, aside from the fact that I’m a psychic. You guys should know what my powers are. During the school year, I made a whole lot of friends and had a pretty fun time with them. You can read that if you haven’t yet. Anyways, since it’s summer, they have a lot of plans that I’ll be a part of. You’ll see later. Now with that out of the way, I gotta head down to prepare myself.

I went downstairs to eat whatever was in the cupboard or fridge for breakfast. Aw man, ran out of cereal. Well, I guess some bread will have to do. I took it out and made a sandwich. It’s pretty good. Home ec taught me how to make a good sandwich.

After I was finished, I was washing my hands when I suddenly heard a knock on my door. Oh I wonder who that could be.

I went over and opened the door. There stood Dogday, the sunshine and love of my life. We’ve started dating during the school year, but before, he was, and still is, my best friend in the whole wide world. He always brings a smile to my face.

His face is turning red as he overhears me. His tail is even wagging too.

“C-Catnap, you don’t have to introduce me! I think they know who I am, right?”

I know, I just wanted to talk about you.

“Oh, well, alright then…”

“Awww his compliments are making me so happy!!!!!”

If you didn’t know, what you read was his thoughts. I always hear these everyday, and yet, I don’t get tired by reading most thoughts now. Well, not that I ever was tired of Dogday's thoughts.

“A-Anyways, let’s get going shall we? I got a special place I wanna take you!”

Let’s go then. This is probably our second or third official date if you count the school dance. We’ve been on plenty of dates throughout the year, which you guys weren’t there for, but they were more just movie nights and cuddle sessions.

“So I’m gonna try and make up for it by bringing us to some fun places!”

I can’t wait to see where we’re going. I see you have a basket with you. And a blanket as well. Are we going on a picnic or something?

“You could say that, hehe.”

I’ve never had a good picnic in a while. Now I’m even more excited. Did you make the food yourself?

“I had some help with Picky! I was able to make all your favorite food~”

Hm, now you’re making me hungry…

“Hehe. By the way, I love your outfit! It’s so cute!”

Aw, thanks. You look quite charming yourself. I can see his tail wagging faster.

He held my hand as we made our way to the bus station. The bus arrived just on time, so we hurried over and got on. We sat down near the back as the bus began to move again.

“Okay, so I was thinking that we could go on this train that’ll bring us over to where we’ll have our picnic! I heard it’s really cozy to ride on, so I thought that’d be good for us! There’s this super cool picnic spot that I heard about at one of the stops.”

Ah, so we’re going there. What’s so cool about it?

“It’s in this really nice park with so much stuff! They have arcades, shops and a scenic area near a lake! I think you’ll love it!”

We’re going to a different town?

“Basically! But it’s smaller compared to ours.”

Hmmmm…. Well, it sounds like fun.

“Hopefully it is fun!”

How long has it been since we’ve ridden a train together?

“Hm… I remember we rode one during middle school to get to my grandparents’ house, but that’s all I remember.”

Oh yeah, that was a fun time. You really insisted on bringing me over to meet them. Your parents already treat me like one of their own, so I guess they were fine with it.

“Hehe yeah… say… whatever happened to your dad?”

Hm?

“When I was on my family trip last summer, you texted me that you were gonna start living on your own. Did your dad move?”

Yeah. He had business somewhere else and had to go away for a while. He trusted me with the house.

“He’s been gone for a while though.”

Eh, he’s a busy guy. Can’t blame him. At least he let me decorate the house when he’s gone. I got to hang up every souvenir from our past hangouts. I think he may be coming back sometime, but I’m not sure.

“Oh… cool…”

Right, you’re scared of him.

“Yeah… but it’s not that I hate him or anything… He always looks so serious, it gives me chills…”

I pat his head and kissed his cheek. I’m sure that won’t be a problem when he comes back. Once you get to know him, you’ll like him.

“Hehe. I hope.”

The bus arrived and we got off. We’re at a fancy train station. A lot of people are coming and going, but it’s not too crowded. There’s a small ticket booth near the entrance. Very old-fashioned, huh?

“Honestly I’ve never been here before, but I think we can navigate through this!”

Just gotta wish for the best.

We went over and got our tickets. After going through the crowds and crowds of people, we arrived at the terminal. The train’s almost here, so we just gotta wait in line. Dogday held the basket up on his head. Pft, what are you doing?

“I gotta keep the food safe! Not gonna have it crushed before we even get there!”

Fair enough. You’re such a goofball, you know that?

“That’s why you love me~”

Oh whatever.

“Your smile’s so cute~”

Anyways, the train arrived. We got on and sat in some rather comfy chairs. I sat near the window since Dogday insisted. He placed the basket down onto his lap. I think I can feel myself sinking into the super soft cushions. Not that I’m complaining. It’s like being on a cloud. The train doors closed and we began to move.

The ticket guy you’d see in movies was coming around and getting tickets. He came over to us.

“Tickets please…”

“Picnic goers. Good to see kids going on picnics like the good ol’ days.”

We handed him our tickets and he punched some holes. He handed them back and proceeded on with his business. Reminds me of Allister with his slow movements. Allister’s kinda like an old man, now that I’m thinking about it.

From there, we just had a calm ride there. Dogday and I chatted about just anything that came to our minds and our plans for the summer. The view was pretty nice too. The landscape and the far away city were really beautiful. I could feel Dogday just observing me.

“I’m just admiring the view too…”

You’re so cheesy.

“Hehe, sorry. You’re just so pretty, you know that?”

My face began to warm up. This guy and his compliments…

“I have to take advantage of every moment to admire and give you compliments!”

You’re too nice…

“Hehe.”

He kissed my cheek, which made me smile. He looked out the window.

“Oh hey wait, I think I see the town! This is our stop!”

Huh? really? That fast? Didn’t even feel that long.

“Train rides aren’t that long, hehe. It’s only been about an hour anyways.”

Oh, that makes sense.

The train stopped and I had to get up from the comfy seat. We’ll be on here again, so it’s not a sad goodbye. We got off the train and made our way toward the exit. Outside, there was a very bustling town square with lines of shops and small businesses in every direction. A fancy fountain in the center  too, wow. The line in front led up to the picnic area, so we made our way over. Usually I’d be hearing our friends spying on us, but I guess they’re all busy or something. Oh well. More peace for us.

“Wait, our friends spied on us before?”

Yeah, but you didn’t notice. They were following us through our first date.

“Uh huh… well, at least they’re not doing that now, right?”

From the looks of it, yeah.

“Pft, they’re something.”

Yep.

We walked down the street, holding hands, as we passed by a familiar rat. Ah, Touille. The chattiest guy I know. We became friends somewhere around the second semester. His ears perked up and he turned to us.

“Oh! Monsieurs! Long time no see!”

It hasn’t even been that long.

“Oh hey Touille! What’re you doing here?”

“Ah yes, Madam Kattails has given me some spending money and allowed me to have a fun day for myself. I thought a stroll around this town would be nice since I’ve heard there were some nice shops here. Of course, it’s nothing compared to a theme park or a museum or a more fun place, but a much more relaxing trip was on my mind today. And I always say that trains are a guilty pleasure of mine, but I never once get a chance to ride them. I haven’t seen anything to buy with what I have left, but I also have yet to search the other streets as well, so-“

Okay I’m cutting him off there.

“Oh, cool! Well, me and Catnap are on a date!”

It’s fascinating how Dogday was able to listen to Touille’s monologue.

“A date, huh? Have fun then! Don’t wanna take up too much of your time now. I could be wrong, but I did see some of our other friends on a date as well. Don’t quote me though.”

“Oh! Okay! We’ll be on the lookout!”

“Well, adieu you two. I’ll be around!”

He nodded and walked away. We waved goodbye to him and continued our walk.

“More of our friends are here? Wow, this place must be awesome for dates and hangouts, huh?”

I guess so.

We continued to walk down. I feel like we’re in an old-fashioned town within a movie, with kids passing by us and playing with their toys. We passed by shops with delicious food and many types of stores. I never knew this place existed.

“Yeah, me too! Though I guess we’ve been busy with school life to actually know, huh?”

Yeah, true.

The park was just ahead of us. A huge gateway with a fancy looking sign acted as the entrance to the picnic area. Well, this looks nice. Hopefully there’s a good spot for us.

Chapter 2: Dogday’s Magical Picnic Basket

Summary:

I’m not even sure how he can fit all that stuff into that basket. Honestly, he impresses me everyday.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

When we entered, there were a lot of picnics going on. Some with families, others with dates, all that jazz. At least there’s a lot of space. Too bad everyone took the cozy shady areas under the trees.

“It should be fine! Hm…”

Dogday looked around and spotted someone familiar.

“Oh hey, is that Crafty?”

Oh yeah it is. I see Kickin laying down beside her. We became friends during the school year as well. Kickin and Crafty have been dating for a while as well, way before we did. One thing I will note is that Crafty is a psychic like me, but she can only pick up on other psychics. It’s pretty specific I know.

We walked over to where they were. Crafty was drawing the scenery with some paints. She gave us a side eye. Not the bad kind, but the kind where you’re too focused to actually make eye contact.

“Sorry, the lake is really pretty and I just have to paint it. Hi, you two! Are you guys on a picnic as well?”

Well, we’re just trying to find a spot. She looked up a little to scan the area.

“Well… I think that spot near the lake should be good! It’s a bit in the sun, but it looks cozy!”

I looked over to where she was looking. Hm, I guess that’s fine. Not that much shade, but I’ll have to deal with it.

Kickin opened up one eye to see who was standing above him.

“What the- Oh shoot!”

He sat up and grinned.

“If it isn’t Day and Nap! What’s up you guys? You going on a picnic too?”

“Yep! Looks like you guys are cozy!”

“Yeah, we finished eating, so we’re just chilling. Crafty’s made some pretty awesome paintings while we’ve been here. Not to brag, but I also made some pretty good ones too, hehe. ”

He grabbed a small canvas and showed off his drawing. He definitely improved a lot. It’s a drawing of Crafty with sparkles.

“Woah that’s awesome Kickin!”

“Heh, thanks, I’m pretty proud of it!”

“Well, he sure did a good job drawing me. I’m happy your drawings are getting better!”

“Well, I got the best artist as my girlfriend, so of course!”

Crafty blushed and went back to painting, to which Kickin proudly smiled at.

“Well, we just wanted to come by and say hi! Hope you two enjoy the rest of your picnic!”

“Cool! See ya around then!”

“Enjoy your picnic!”

I directed Dogday to the spot Crafty pointed. He set the basket down and put a huge blanket over the spot. He sat me down as he put the basket to his side and opened it.  I took off my sunhat and put it onto him.

“Okay, so, for drinks, I brought some home made iced tea!”

He took out a rather large glass pitcher with a cover on it and some cups. How did you fit that in?

“I’m pretty good at packing stuff!”

In that small basket…?

“Anyways, I got some sweets for us, some fruits and sandwiches that Picky helped make!”

He took out some plates and the food. Oh wow, those look delicious. There were some cakes, strawberries, donuts and, like he said, a variety of sandwiches.

“You can have some while I take everything out!”

I can wait. Don’t wanna be too greedy.

“Well alright then…”

He had a smug look.

“Aaaaand~ I got your favorites~”

Wait, you don’t mean…

“Pepperoni sticks!”

He held up a bundle of them tied up in a nice, red ribbon and handed them to me. Woah… so many of them…

He giggled at my reaction.

“Oh! And before I forget!”

He took out a huge bouquet of a variety of flowers from the basket. Okay seriously, how did you fit *that* in???

“Like I said, I’m good at packing! Anywho, here you go my precious kitty!”

He gave me the colorful bouquet, which was rather heavy. So much so, I could barely hold it with both arms. I don’t think I have a vase big enough for this.

“It’s a good thing I got a vase as well!”

You’re joking…

He then took out a sun themed vase out of the basket. Is that basket magical or something???

“Here you go!”

I put the flowers in the vase (they fit perfectly somehow) and placed them near me. Dogday sat criss-cross applesauce and patted his lap. With this many people around, it’d be embarrassing, but if I have to.

I sat on his lap and laid against him. I put a plate on my lap and began to grab some food. You sure you wanna hold me like this in the summer?

“Yeah, well, I like having you close to me! You’re super soft and nice…”

Hmph, I don’t mind anyways. It’s nice.

We ate the food that Dogday packed as we watched the lake. We just kinda enjoyed each other’s company. Dogday had his head rested on top of mine and we swayed slowly from side to side. The food was really good, so compliments to the chef.

“Hehe, thanks. I’ll let Picky know as well!”

We finished the food after a while. So what now?

“Wanna just lay in the sun and relax a little? I know you like that!”

I’d love to. I just hope it doesn’t get too hot.

We cleaned the plates and cups up and placed them into Dogday’s magical basket. We swept off the crumbs and laid on top of the blanket. Dogday had one arm wrapped around my shoulder, holding me close, as his other arm was behind his head. He had the sun hat over his face. Heh, that’s cute.

I heard Crafty and Kickin come over to us.

“Are you guys gonna take a nap or something?”

Dogday lifted the sunhat up a little to see them.

“We’re just basking in the sun! Though, knowing Catnap, we might both accidentally fall asleep, hehe.”

True.

“You guys look comfy, hehe.”

We sure are.

“Well, we just wanna come by to say goodbye since we’re heading back home now! It was nice seeing you guys!”

“Oh okay! Nice seeing you guys too! See you later!”

They bid farewell and headed out of the park. Certainly won’t be the last time we’ll be seeing them.

Anyways, we laid like this for a while, just basking in the sun. Dogday had fallen asleep after a while, so I kept hearing his soft snoring. I slowly began to doze off as well until I felt a shadow loom over us. I slowly opened my eyes to see a familiar green face.

“Yo Naps! Thought I’d see you here! What’s up?”

“Aren’t they hot cuddling like that in the sun?”

Hoppy gave a playful smirk as she had her sunglasses placed on her head. She had a basket hanging from her arm, so she must’ve had a picnic with Bobby. Speaking of which, Bobby came over and leaned with her, placing her hand on top of her pink sunhat.

“Hey guys! Hope we aren’t bothering you!”

These two are some of the most well known kids at our school, and some of our bestest friends as well. They also became a couple before us, and it looks like they’re on their own date as well.

I waved to them as Dogday groggily took the hat off.

“Who is it…?”

“Yo, sorry to wake ya up Days!”

We sat up and stretched. Dogday yawned before giving a cheerful smile to them.

“It's fine! Good to see you guys! Are you on a date?”

“Yep! Me and Hoppy thought this place would be nice for a date, but looks like everyone else got the same idea, hehe…”

“It’s pretty awesome though! Bobs made some cupcakes and sandwiches for a picnic date! We even got a good spot in the shade!”

I was right.

“Ooooh nice!”

“We finished up, and since you guys look like you’re all finished up, we thought you might wanna join us at the arcade!”

“Yeah. Hoppy’s been DYING to go to an arcade for a while, but our town doesn’t have one for some reason.”

“You bet!”

“They just had to shut down the last good one…”

The arcade? I’m not big on games if I’m being honest, but I guess we could go. Dogday heard me and tilted his head to them.

“Well… what does the arcade have?”

“Just some arcade machines and claw machines. I heard they got super cool prizes there!”

Claw machines? Oh, Dogday loves playing those. His luck is usually 50/50 when it comes to claw machines. He’s pretty good when it comes to unsigned claw games. Otherwise, it’s a fail every time. Basically, it depends on whether it’s rigged or not.

“Heh, claw machines huh? Count us in!”

Oh boy.

Bobby smiled.

“Great! Then let’s get going then!”

We packed up our stuff and followed them. I carried the basket in my hands and bundle of pepperoni stick in my pocket so they wouldn’t fall out. Dogday had the vase since it was heavy and he insisted that he’d take it. What a gentleman. While walking down the street, Bobby and Dogday were talking to each other. Hoppy walked beside me.

“So… you think I could win Bobby a huge prize from the prize corner?”

I would think so. I nod.

“Hopefully I can get her something good. Like… a huge plush or something! You probably don’t know this, but I was a pretty epic arcade gamer when I was a kid, hehe.”

That makes sense. I can see in her mind a flashback of her and Kickin playing against each other. Guess they were childhood friends before.

I put my hand on her shoulder and gave her a thumbs-up.

“Heh, thanks man! You’re the best!”

Just simple encouragement. Knowing her, she’ll probably get it.

We arrived at the arcade. Hoppy took out some cash and put it into the coin exchange machine, causing it to dump out mounds of arcade coins. She gave some to Dogday.

“Try not to use it up on claw machines, okay?”

“I’ll try not to!”

He will.

“Hey!”

I didn’t say anything. I believe in you.

We went over to the claw machine area. Most of them were bootleg toys and/or random things like toilet paper or soda. Dogday spotted something in one of the machines. A rolled up tortilla blanket.

“Burrito Kitty…”

What?

An image of me rolled up like a burrito as Dogday held me up proudly appeared in his mind. This guy…

“Let me try this one! Don’t use your powers though, I wanna get this with no cheats or anything like that!”

Well alright then.

He put the the vase down near the machine and placed a coin in. He began to move the claw around. I can hear Hoppy rapidly hitting at the Whack a Mole game nearby as Bobby cheered her on. She must be pretty good at that game. I glance over to see she has a whole lot of tickets. Wow, I wasn’t far off.

“I got it!”

I look back to see the claw grab one of the rolled up blankets. It slowly lifts it off the ground and begins its way toward the chute. However, the blanket slipped out right before it fully made it over the chute.

“Darn! Just an inch away too!”

These games are rigged half the time. Dogday inserted the coin again and picked the blanket up again. It slipped again, but this time, it bounced further away. It was a continuous cycle after that. After what may be the 4th try, Dogday collapsed to his knees and pounded his fists in defeat. I kneeled down and patted him on the back. It’s alright Dogday, it’s the game’s fault, not yours-

“Oh my, we meet again Monsieurs!”

I know that voice.

Touille had a corn dog in his hand as he watched Dogday grovel in defeat.

“Are you guys playing claw machines or something?”

I nod.

“Ah yes, I always love playing these games whenever I get the chance. You could say I’m a pretty big pro when it comes to getting the prizes in it.-“

Dogday’s ears perked up when he mentioned that.

“-I know just about every single method and trick to catch any of these delectable prizes. Rigged or not, I can catch anything! Not to brag, but I about a whole lot of prizes ranging from-“

Dogday jumped up to his feet and grabbed Touille by the shoulders.

“Show me your ways…”

“Oh? You wish to see me in action? Alright then, move aside!”

We both moved aside as Touille borrowed a coin from Dogday’s stash and placed it in.

“Now Monsieur, take a look. You just have to do this and that and it’ll be a guaranteed catch. Do not move it too much or else the trick won’t work. Once I press the button, I win.”

He did some weird movements with the claw as Dogday watched it intently. Touille pressed the button, and it began to slowly come down. It grabbed onto the rolled up blanket. We watched intently as it brought it over the chute and released. Touille had just won us a tortilla blanket. Dogday’s jaw dropped as he held it out. He unrolled it and slowly wrapped the blanket around me like a burrito, still having his shocked expression on. He picked me up slightly off the ground and stared in amazement. I’m just accepting this.

He slowly turned his head to Touille. He put me down and bowed to him.

“You’re amazing…”

He doesn’t need to do all that for him. Touille bit off a bit of his corn dog and smiled.

“You try it out, Monsieur Day! It’s a simple trick! Even a little baby can do it!”

Dogday got up and put a coin in a machine full of plushies. I unwrapped the blanket and watched him grab a black and white teddy bear. The claw slowly dragged it over the chute… and he got it! His face was gleaming with joy. He went over to Touille and shook his hand enthusiastically.

“Thank you thank you thank you for teaching me!”

“U-Uh N-No P-Problem!”

Touille was dizzy after Dogday stopped. He shook his head and smiled.

“Well then, I shall take my leave. I am to return home at a certain hour. Enjoy the rest of your date you two! May we meet again soon!”

“Oh, leaving so soon? Well, see ya!”

He waved goodbye as he walked out of the arcade. Dogday looked at me with excited eyes. Well, since you have the unbeatable method, go crazy. He immediately went to some claw machines and played them. After every machine, I put the prizes into a bag that he won. Safe to say it’s all filled up. We still have the basket by the way. I placed the bag in there.

He ran out of coins (thankfully) and gave a sigh of exhaustion. He picked up the vase and smiled.

“Man, I haven’t won that much stuff from claw machines ever!”

I feel like this method will only work out so much until it doesn’t. But good job Dogday. I kissed his cheek, which made him smile proudly.

We went over to where Hoppy and Bobby were. Hoppy looked like she was on her last coin as well. She’s playing a racing game, which I guess is for fun since she’s not getting any tickets from it. Though, from the looks of the huge bundle of tickets Bobby was holding, I guess it doesn’t matter.

Bobby noticed us and marveled at the bag of prizes sticking out of the basket. I only said I placed it in. I don’t know how the magical basket works.

“Oh wow, you guys won a lot! I didn’t know you were masters at claw machines!”

“Is that a tortilla blanket poking out from the basket?”

That’s what got your attention? And no, Dogday won most of these. I point my thumb at him.

“Oh? Dogday won all of these?”

“Yep! Learned from the best!”

“Oh wow! Well, Hoppy and I won some tickets!”

“I can see that! Geez, you guys got all of that in an hour?”

“Hehe, we’re pretty good!”

Hoppy cheered as she finished the race. She jumped up and gave a confident grin.

“1st place baby!”

“Yay!!! Good job, Honeybun!”

She noticed us and the basket full of prizes.

“Oh wow, you guys went ham on those machines…”

“Is that a tortilla blanket?”

It can’t be that special. And yep, can’t contain excitement with this goofball.

“Oh dude, you guys should’ve seen Bobby at the punching machine! She got us a whole lot of tickets just from a single punch!”

“Oh, no, it was nothing!”

“Nuh uh! I didn’t even know you were that strong! She legit got the highest score on that punching machine!”

“I think she broke it too…”

Well, let’s hope we don’t get her angry anytime soon. Bobby blushed from the praise.

“W-Well, let’s go grab some prizes from the prize corner…”

“Oh yeah! Let’s go!”

We went over to the prize corner. Hoppy and Bobby were pointing at some stuff, which the attendant gave them. Hoppy then noticed a huge rabbit plushie and then looked at Bobby. She smiled as she pointed at it.

“Get me that one! It’s for my girlfriend, hehe.”

The attendant, not having a care in the world, lifted it off the hook and carried it over to them. He gave it to Bobby, to her surprise and enjoyment.

“Awwww omg! This is so cute and soft!!!”

“Heh, anything for my girl!”

She looked at me and winked. I winked back. Bobby hugged it tightly with love. Dogday checked his watch.

“Hm, we should probably start heading back home. It’s getting late and we don’t wanna miss our train.”

“Oh yeah! We gotta catch the train! Lets get going then!”

We walked out of the arcade with a sense of victory, and we made our way over to the train station.

Heh, this was a fun date. Thanks for taking me out, big guy.

“Awww of course! I’m happy to make my precious kitty happy!”

Well, can’t wait for whatever we have next. I just hope I can find a place for the vase in my house.

Notes:

These chapters are gonna be pretty random and episodic, BUT there will be arcs like last time! Some may be shorter. Others may be longer. Catnap’s gonna have a fun summer though, so stay tuned!

Hope you enjoyed!

Chapter 3: Ghost Hunting at a Haunted House

Summary:

This is my first time ghost hunting and it’s… uh… interesting I guess.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Where are we…?

“We’re taking care of a haunted house dude.”

It’s around close to nighttime. We’re standing at a super rundown house that could honestly go down into pieces at any time. Me, Baba, Crafty, Poe, Rabie and Dogday were standing at the entrance. A pretty big group for a haunted house thing. Everyone here (besides Poe) are basically people I’ve met who knew I was a psychic beforehand. Dogday’s the last person and the last one who got the telepathy ability connection with me, so he counts. Baba and Crafty are both psychics in their own ways, and Rabie is just very observant. It’s how they knew from the start.

Dogday looked at the house and gulped.

“S-So, what are we doing exactly?”

Baba shrugged.

“Just some exploring and banishment and stuff. Some old lady visited me for help since she saw some weird stuff going on here and asked me to exorcise some ghosts. She even paid me money, so yeah.”

“I don’t even know how to exorcise ghosts but money is money I guess. Oh god, do I sound too greedy?”

Nah, I think you’re fine. Is that why you’re carrying a big bag of salt?

“Yeah.”

Alright then.

“Oh… cool…”

Well, not sure how this will turn out considering I’ve never done this before.

“Hey, uh, I’ve been thinking about this for a while…”

Hm? What?

“How does your… uh… audience know who’s who when they were talking?”

What do you mean?

“Like… since we have a big group, won’t it be kinda difficult to tell who’s talking?”

Hm. I guess you’re right. I never thought about that until now. I think I have a power that could help with that.

“Really? Dude, how many abilities do you have?”

A couple.

I guess I’ll use my identification ability then. What may be my least used ability yet compared to the x-ray eye. I used this during preschool so I could remember people better, and that’s the only time I ever used this ability. In the grand scheme of things, this would’ve been helpful in the last story, but I never thought that far ahead. It basically just shows an icon above someone’s head that’s unique to them. Like I would have a moon icon and Dogday would have a sun icon. Though it doesn’t really work on me since I’m the one enforcing it. The way to start and stop it is to knock on my head. Don’t ask how I figured that out when I was in preschool. Not really sure how it works in fic format but we’ll see.

“Fic format? What are you talking about?”

Nothing. Anyways, let’s try it out and hope it works out for you guys. I knocked on my head with my hand. The symbols appear for everyone.

💀 “Oh, woah. There’s a skull above me now. That’s sick.”

Oh, you can see it. I guess I should’ve known that.

🌸 “W-Why is there a rainbow flower floating above me?”

Don't worry about it. It’s an indicator for the audience.

🌸 “Oh, I see… it kinda looks like the keychains we got from that amusement park trip…”

Yeah, I kinda based it off of that. Anyways let’s get back on topic.

🩸 “OMG, this place looks so grody… I only came here to, like, see some ghosts and stuff. I don’t wanna get any dirt on me…”

☀️ “I’m sure it’ll be fine!”

🩸 “Girl, this place looks absolutely ruined. Ugh, but I came here, so I guess I’ll have to bear it…”

🩸 “Also ‘cause I got nothing planned today and I don’t wanna be bored.”

Fair enough.

🌸 “So, um, Baba. Why did you call us, specifically?”

💀 “Well, we’re the psychic crew, so I thought it’d be neat for us to do something together.”

🩸 “That’s totes sweet and all, but is a haunted house really a good bonding activity?”

🩸 “Awww they included me? That’s so nice!”

💀 “Uh… sure.”

Why did you pick the darkest time to do this?

💀 “I thought it’d make the experience better.”

Okay then.

☀️ “Oh, Poe! I didn’t know you were part of the crew as well!”

💀 “Nah, they just wanted to tag along.”

🌩️ “But of course. I mustn’t pass on such an opportunity to communicate with the deceased and experience the horrors of the supernatural.”

☀️ “Oh cool! Welcome then!”

🌩️ “ Yes thank you, Mr. Day.”

🌩️ “He still hurts my eyes like the rays of the sun…”

They’re quite the interesting individual.

🌸 “Yeah, welcome to our crew Poe!”

🌩️ “Many thanks, Ms. Corn.”

🌸 “Oh please, call me Crafty.”

🌸 “For my sake…”

🌩️ “My apologies, Ms. Crafty.”

So are we gonna go in?

💀 “Oh, yeah, we should probably head in now.”

We all slowly and carefully walked up the stairs that lead to the front door. Dogday held my hand firmly. I squeezed back to comfort him. Baba opened the door, and the hallway inside looked like what you see in a horror movie. Cobwebs everywhere. The floors creaking as we entered. The faintest of winds. All that jazz.

Rabie tiptoed around.

🩸 “So… like, where are we gonna start?”

💀 “Not really sure. I guess we walk around and see if there’s any paranormal activity or something.”

🌸 “Doesn’t that require, like, a lot of technology or something?”

💀 “You guys got me.”

That's not really reassuring.

🌩️ “Ms. Chops. You’ve dealt with spirits before. Are there any… telltale signs to which we may be able to identify and purify a specter?”

💀 “Eh, not really. Maybe some chills and stuff, but all ghosts are nice.”

So what’s the point of this-

💀 “BUT, even though that’s the usual case, there can be some… exceptions. Like, say, grudges and stuff build up in the soul. That creates an Anomaly.”

Creative name.

💀 “Shut up, I couldn’t think of anything else.”

She stopped in her tracks, which caused us to stop as well. She takes out a flashlight and puts it up to her face to cast a sinister look.

💀 “Ive only heard of them through rumors, but I know that signs relating to them are often unnatural. From slimes drooling from the walls to scratching on the floors, they make it clear you are a potential target. They will terrorize you until you go insane. It’s best to make sure you can either keep it at bay or banish it forever…”

She turned off the flashlight.

💀 “…or something like that. I can’t really remember that much. Maybe this is just some weird prank or something.”

Dogday held me tightly from fear. Crafty was shaking a bit. Poe and Rabie looked indifferent.

That was some really random lore drop about ghosts. Though, I feel like this probably won’t be brought up ever again after this.

🩸 “So… this could basically be Scooby Doo?”

💀 “Huh? Well, I guess, yeah…”

🌩️ “Hmph, nonetheless, I am quite enlivened by the idea of such a concept. The conundrum presented makes for this to be an exhilarating venture.”

🌸 “H-Hopefully it’s just a really weird prank…”

☀️ “I-I’m sure nothing bad will happen to us, hehe…”

I’m pretty sure things will turn out okay in the end.

💀 “Okay, so, let’s explore then.”

🩸 “Better make sure we’re all, like, in a group and not split up. Horror movie characters get super grody deaths after splitting up, y’know?”

We’re not that type of story.

☀️ “Yeah! Let’s… uh… avoid that! Let’s all stick together and find out whoever’s behind this!”

☀️ “Oh god, now I’m getting a little bit more anxious…”

I pet his head to calm him down. Baba gave Crafty, Dogday and Poe flashlights in order to actually see anything in the dark. Well, I’m doing just fine since I can see in the dark. Seems like Rabie didn’t need one as well. They turned on their lights, and we began to walk around. The creaking of the floors made things a bit creepy, but so far, nothing really noteworthy was going on in the first floor.

💀 “Hm, I only see the usual stuff with ghosts. Just goofing around and stuff.”

🌸 “Well, that’s… good I guess. Maybe there was some type of misunderstanding?”

🩸 “That’d be totes boring though.”

🌩️ “Hm, I never viewed you as the type who’s interested in the paranormal.”

🩸 “Fair enough. I’m not one to, like, be nerdy about my interests, but ooooh, ghosts are a hot topic for me. Like, it’s one of the most well known gossips ever! I don’t go ghost hunting like this, but when there’s an opportunity, I totes take the chance just to see if it’s the real deal or a fake out.”

🌩️ “My, how fascinating.”

🌩️ “I know Mr. Nap would hear this, but I merely thought of her as just a common lady with average interests such as caffeinated frozen beverages and the likes.”

🩸 “Eh he, you never know someone till you get to know them, y’know?”

She gave a wink at Poe, which made them raise their eyebrow. Dogday looked around a bit.

☀️ “There’s still the second and third floor, so there might be something that-“

Suddenly, a loud CLANK was heard coming from the second floor. Everyone jumped and turned to see a tin can coming down the stairs. Poe picked it up and inspected it. I heard some footsteps upstairs, but I didn’t hear their thoughts since the can made a lot of noise.

🌩️ “Tis but a mere dented cylinder. However, such a simple item leads us toward the one who dropped it down here…”

🩸 “Oh ho, now we’re getting somewhere~”

💀 “I mean… a normal ghost could’ve just blown it to mess with us, but I didn’t get to see it do that…”

🌸 “I hate this so much…”

☀️ “Uh, I guess we should go up.”

☀️ “Oh god, this really is like a ghost story… But I can’t be afraid! I gotta protect everyone and Catnap from danger!”

My brave hero <3. Dogday bravely went first as I followed since we’re holding hands. Everyone else followed. The hallway that met us was as old as the rest of the house. Though, it’s particularly darker than the rest of the house. Probably because the curtains are drawn and the windows look boarded up.

💀 “Let’s go then…”

We walked down the hallway. This time, there were more noises to be heard. Whispers, scratching, creaking that shouldn’t be creaking, etc etc. Dogday and Crafty look petrified. Baba was looking around to see if a ghost was actually doing all of that. Poe observed the paintings.

🌩️ “Hm, how peculiar…”

 Seems like they saw something.

“Hehe, someone saw. Now they must be extra creeped out.”

Welp, there you go.

Rabie had a grin on her face as she heard out the sounds.

🩸 “Huhuhuhu, oh I definitely know what’s going on…”

Like I said, she’s the observant type. Poe seemed to have noticed her grin and turned to her.

🌩️ “May I ask if you know the origins of the noise? You seem to have figured something out.”

🩸 “I, in fact, totally know! There’s definitely some kind of speaker or something playing those noises. Multiple of them.”

☀️ “Speakers? So those aren’t ghosts?”

💀 “Nah, I would’ve saw them doing crap like that.”

Rabie turned to Poe with a knowing smile.

🩸 “Oh Poe-y~ since you seem to be eyeing the paintings, did ya see the eyes, like, move, perchance?”

Everyone turned to them. They nodded.

🌩️ “Yes, indeed. It was subtle, but I happened to see an occurrence of that out of the corner of my eye.”

🌸 “S-So there’s someone watching us?”

I held out a thumbs up. I can confirm. I heard their thoughts.

☀️ “Wha- wait. You can only hear the thoughts of alive people, right?”

Yep. I can only hear the thoughts of people who are alive. So basically, we know what we’re dealing with.

Everyone looked at each other. Everyone had a collective smirk. Heck, some of us had a devilish look. We huddled together.

🩸 “This isn’t that Anomaly crap or whatever.”

💀 “No, in fact, we got ourselves a guy.”

🌩️ “Quite unfortunate really, but we may as well uncover their facade and expose them to the presses.

☀️ “Well, how do we do that?”

🌸 “We just pretend to not know, and we could maybe use some tactics to scare them out.”

Whatever lets us go home faster. I’ll use telekinesis or any other of my abilities to find them.

We heard footsteps walking behind us and a door closing. We gave each other knowing looks.

💀 “Then looks like we got a plan.”

Everyone snickered quietly before they went to act normal.

☀️ “Oh woah, what was that?”

🌸 “I have no idea! We should look!”

We walked over to where we heard them enter. They give me the cue. I used my x-ray eye to see where the guy was. They’re standing behind a door.

“Oh this is gonna be so good, hehe. Once one of them opens this door, I’ll scare them and chase them around like in the cartoons.”

Whoops, my hand slipped. The door fell down, showing a tall dude with a ghoulish looking costume. We just kinda looked at them for a moment since we didn’t expect them to be so huge.

🩸 “Well, aren’t you a behemoth?”

🌸 “What do we genuinely do…?”

They did some kind of scary pose, which prompted Baba to throw salt at them. We bolted away from them.

☀️ “WHERE ARE WE GOING???

💀 “AWAY FROM THAT?! I DIDN'T THINK THEY WERE THAT GIGANTIC.”

🌸 “LETS JUST GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE!”

🌩️ “Why are we shouting?”

Rabie was flying instead of running. Her ears perked up and she turned her head to see.

🩸 “Um, like, not to make things worse, but the guy’s totes tailing us down.”

We all collectively turned our heads to see the guy dashing toward us. We went faster. I grabbed onto Dogday since he’s doing his infamous Dogday Rush and he gave me a piggy back ride. And yes, it’s cliche, but we went into several rooms as the guy chased us. Some weird stuff happened where we get scrambled around before we found ourselves chasing them now.

🌸 “Wha- how did we get here?”

💀 “Uh… I don’t know, but keep chasing them!”

🩸 “Oh Catty, can you maybe trip them or something?”

Uh, okay. Sure. I noticed another tin can, and I moved it in front of them using telekinesis. They stepped on it and fell over cartoonishly. We surrounded them.

🩸 “Do we have anything to, like, tie them up or something?”

🌩️ “I have but a mere few feet of rope on me.”

🌸 “D-Do you just carry rope around on you?”

🌩️ “Oh, no. I simply had it just in case this type of scenario were to occur.”

Crafty hummed. We tied the rope around them.

💀 “Okay, who wants to unmask them?”

🌸 “Uh… not really…”

🩸 “No thanks.”

☀️ “I can do it!”

Dogday went over and grabbed the mask. He slowly pulled it off to reveal…

☀️🩸🌩️🌸💀 “A random guy!”

Who even is this?

“Urk, you got me. I thought it’d be funny to scare some people in this house since it’s been abandoned. So I set up some speakers and this costume in order to scare trespassers and people walking by the house. This place has become my home, my place of terror, and I would’ve continued this if it weren’t for you meddling kids!”

There’s the line.

💀 “Uh… so you’ve just been doing this for fun?”

“Yeah, what about it?’

Dogday looked over them.

☀️ “Well, there’s been some people who are genuinely thinking there are ghosts haunting this place, and we’re just trying to help them out. Would you kindly stop terrorizing people please?”

“And what if I don’t.”

Rabie smirked as she flew over them, opening her cell phone.

🩸 “We’ll get police involved.”

She stuck her tongue out at them. The guy scoffed.

“Ugh, fine.”

“A guy can’t have any fun these days…”

Maybe we should call the police.

We escorted them out the house and untied them.

💀 “Don’t do your weird scare thing again. Do that in Halloween or something.”

“Fine. I’ll be staying here though since this is my house.”

🩸💀☀️🌩️🌸 “Seriously?”

He did say that when confessing.

🌸 “Um, okay then. Just don’t cause any more disturbances, okay?”

☀️ “Or else we’ll come back and get ya!”

🩸 “Into a jail cell~”

“Fine I promise…”

They went back in, shutting the old door behind them. What even happened.

💀 “I don’t know man, but now I’m disappointed.”

At least nothing bad happened to us.

🌸 “So… should we go home now? We did the job, right?”

💀 “Hm, I guess.”

We went out of the gate.

🩸 “This was totes fun! Let’s hang out again next time! Maybe somewhere less decrepit.”

💀 “Yeah, sure.”

🌩️ “I quite enjoyed it. May we meet again someday.”

🌸 “Yeah! Um, see you guys later!”

Everyone parted ways to go to their own home. Guess I can turn off the identification ability. I knock on my head, causing the symbols to disappear. Dogday tilted his head.

“What are you doing?”

Nothing. Wanna walk home together?

“Of course!”

He smirked.

“Since it’s pretty dark, you might have to come over to my house for the night, right?”

I guess so, hehe.

We walked down the road together.

“That was kinda scary, but hey, we had fun!”

True. Now I’m just tired and ready to go to bed.

“Well don’t worry my kitty, we’ll get plenty of rest now!”

Wonderful.

Notes:

Someone wanted some indicators for which character is talking, so I tried my best to implement that! Hopefully it’s all good! This chapter was an idea I had that I thought would be funny, hehe.

Hope you enjoyed!

Chapter 4: A Nice Time at a Cafe

Summary:

The iced tea and sweet platter were pretty good. I recommend going here.

Notes:

Another shorter chapter, but hopefully you enjoy!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

There’s a new cafe that just opened up near the mall recently. I heard Picky was working there, so I thought it’d be nice to come and check it out. Sadly, Dogday isn’t with me today since he’s practicing for his baseball game tomorrow, which I will be seeing. I don’t really like sports, but I’ve been meaning to see one of his games since he’s always working hard. Plus, he begged me to come watch the game tomorrow for luck purposes, and I couldn't say no. Now he’s getting ready for that big game. Anyway, right now, I guess I’ll have to venture on my own here.

The cafe seems a bit small, but it has a cozy feel to it. The last time I went to a cafe was on my first date with Dogday. I don’t see anyone at the outdoor seating. Understandable since this is a new place.

I went in, the bell ringing above me.

“Coming!”

Picky came over with a tray of various foods. I think you get the gist by now that the people I name are friends we’ve made during the school year. Picky is an incredible cook, and her treats are always delicious. It makes sense that she would work here.

“Oh Catnap! Funny seeing you here! No Dogday today?”

I shook my head.

“Well that’s too bad. This place would’ve been a pretty good dating spot for you two!”

She looked around and smiled.

“Heh, I’ll group him up with our friends!”

Friends? Are there more of us?

“Let me bring ya to your table!”

Lead the way.

I followed her as she served the plates to a few customers. She sat me down at a booth seat and handed me a menu.

“I’ll try to come by to take your order!”

“That or Maggie might come over. Though she’s pretty busy cleaning up a mess right now…”

Maggie works here too?

She walked away. Hm, alright then. I look around the cafe. There aren't a lot of people, so that’s good for me. The cafe looks like your ordinary cafe, with some white Christmas lights hanging above the booth seats and a bar for the barista.

While looking around, I noticed some familiar people. Bubba and Allister. Bubba’s one of the richest kids around and also one of the most generous guys I know. He’s also the smartest guy I know too. Allister, on the other hand, is always sleeping or lazing around whenever I see him. Not my closest friend ever, but he’s still an acquaintance, I suppose. Looks like Bubba’s enjoying a nice coffee while reading a book. Allister’s just sleeping.

Bubba looked up from his book and noticed me. He waved at me with a smile. Picky came by and chatted with him for a bit before picking up his stuff. She did the same thing with Allister. They began to head my way now.

“…Yeah yeah, come sit with Catnap! He’s all alone too!”

“Oh, really? Uh, if he’s fine with it.”

“I suppose Dogday must be busy. Usually he’d be here with Catnap. Oh well.”

“Okay…”

Allister was rubbing his eye before scooting next to me and collapsing back to sleep. Bubba awkwardly smiled at me.

“U-Um… Do you mind if I sit with you, Catnap?”

Go ahead.

He sat down across from me as Picky put his coffee and stuff down onto the table.

“Now then, ready to order?”

I guess. I point to an iced tea and a sweets platter. I like sweets, what can I say?

“Alrighty then! I’ll get that out right away! You need anything Alli and Busy Bub?”

Allister shook his head while he had his face resting in his arms. Bubba thought for a moment.

“Um… I suppose a scone would be good.”

“Got it! Be back in a jiffy!”

She skipped away while humming a tune. We kinda looked at each other for a bit, with Allister snoring softly.

“So… you came to check out the new cafe?”

“Still suck at this…”

I nod.

“I see. Same goes for me. I thought it’d be nice to enjoy some coffee here. It’s been a while since I’ve had some good coffee.”

Hm, fair enough.

We sat in silence again. Putting some of the quieter and least sociable critters here makes things a lot more awkward. He cleared his throat.

“Um, do you have any other plans for the summer? I mean, there were a lot of proposals for plans in the group chat like the waterpark or maybe travel to a foreign country… I feel like they may or may not come to fruition, but I digress. There is the festival coming around soon, and I have been thinking about having us go on some trips together as a group. ”

Trips? I tilted my head.

“Well, there’s a really nice cruise I thought about booking for us that could be good for most of our plans but I’m not sure if it’s good for everyone or not. And you know Kickin’s been begging to go on a road trip in the group chat, so I got a… what were they called… RV…? yes, an RV for us just in case.”

Geez, he really spends a lot for us. I was just gonna say the baseball game and the plans in the group chat. He picked up on it before I even did anything.

“Not much plans, huh? That’s okay. Um… How about you, Allister…?”

He peeked one eye up.

“…sleep…”

“Okay then.”

Bubba took a sip out of his coffee. I notice Maggie walking by with a tray. She seemed to notice us as well.

“Hey hey! It’s CN!”

She’s the biggest eater you’ll ever know. Anywhere she goes, she always has a snack or some candy on her. This time is no exception since she has a lollipop in her mouth.

She ran over to us, but then she accidentally tripped on air. I used telekinesis to prevent the glass and food on her tray from going on the ground (and also her too). The food and cups land safely back onto the tray as she softly falls face first onto the ground. She got up with no scratches on her. Bubba was surprised for a moment before chuckling.

“Sometimes I forget Catnap can just do that.”

“Woah… they landed back onto the tray. Sick.”

She got up and placed the tray onto a nearby table.

“What’s up, man? Feels like forever since we last saw each other!”

It’s only been a week. I smiled. Allister looked up.

“…Hi Maggie…”

“Sup AG! Liking the table there?”

“…yes…”

“Awesome!”

Seems like they became good friends. She sat herself down next to Bubba.

“Man, can’t believe I got a job! Picky hooked me up and I got it!”

“This beats just eating snacks in my room and swimming in the pool!”

I’d say that’s a better way to spend time. Bubba adjusted his glasses a bit.

“Shouldn’t you get back to your job? No offense.”

“Ah that can wait! I have friends to talk to!”

She might not hold this job for long if that’s her attitude.

“So anyways, this place rules! They’ve got all the sweets and stuff! Man, I can’t wait to eat them later…”

“B-But aren’t those for customers…?”

“Well yeah! But they let me have some of them when I’m on break!”

“Oh, phew, I see.”

Huh, this place really is nice. Picky came by with our orders.

“Here ya go! One sweets platter and iced tea! And one scone!”

I nod to thank her. Bubba smiled.

“Thank you, Picky.”

“No prob Busy Bub! And Maggie, get back to work! Boss won’t be happy to see ya slacking off.”

“Aw man…”

While I was munching on a tart, I heard the entrance door bell ring. When I looked, there was someone surprising entering through. Simon Smoke, who looked like a fashion model in a summer magazine. He’s probably the richest of them all compared to Bubba. He was a pretty huge jerk who never wanted anything to do with us, but he’s been somewhat warming up to us lately.

He put his sunglasses above his hair and noticed our group.

“Hm, them.”

Oh boy.

He walked over like he owned the place and stood in front of us. He twirled his hair while giving us a judging look. I should probably do the indicator, huh? I knock on my head.

💲“Hello… people.”

Looks like he’s still acting all high and mighty.

💡 “Oh, hello Simon. What do you need from us?”

🦷 “Sup SS.”

Everyone’s already used to his attitude by now. Picky gave a somewhat annoyed pout.

🍎 “Hm, you could’ve waited for me to get you a table.”

Simon scoffed.

💲 “I’m not gonna stay in such a pathetic little cafe. I just happened to pass by and see you people here, so I thought to stop by and give my presence to you all.”

🍎 “Uh huh.”

Allister lifted his head up a bit and smiled when he saw Simon.

🦴 “Hi Simon… you look really nice today…”

💲 “Huh? Oh… uh… t-thanks.”

He blushed a little, which made everyone give him a suspicious look.

💲 “W-WHAT ARE YOU ALL LOOKING AT?!”

🍎💡🦷 “Nothing.”

💲 “Ugh, that cute idiot’s such a pain sometimes. He’s the one to suggest a secret relationship and here he goes making me flustered! Damn him and his stupidly charming comments!”

You’re the one blushing at his compliments.

🦷 “CN, can I have one?”

Sure. Maggie took a cookie from the sweets platter.

At this point, there's a pretty big suspicion on what their relationship is in our friend group, but we don’t say a word since their relationship is “secret”. So far, no one else besides us knows about them. They suck at keeping it a secret, but at the same time, they somehow have kept this facade on for such a long time. Good for them.

Simon clicked his tongue while giving an annoyed look at us.

💲 “You know what? I’ll seat myself here.”

He sat down next to Allister. Some secret, huh? I guess he’s more comfortable being like this with us.

💲 “Get me a hot grande latte with some milk, foam on the top and sprinkle in some brown sugar to go with that. Now.”

He placed down a wad of cash to Picky.

🍎 “Alright then, coming right up!”

🍎 “We don’t really do custom orders, but whatever.”

She went over to the bar. Simon rested his elbow on Allister’s shoulder as he checked his nails, to which Allister didn’t mind. In fact, he seemed happy.

💲 “So, I saw your little house on my way here, Bubbaphant. Looks quite mediocre to say the least.”

Bubba rolled his eyes.

💡 “Uh… thanks, I guess.”

💡 “Not trying to win house of the year.”

🦷 “What? Like you got a cooler mansion or something?”

💲 “Heh, I do actually. It far surpasses any mansion on this road.”

💡 “Hm, sure it is…”

Bubba mumbled that as he drank his coffee. Maggie held her laugh as Simon gave him a glare. I’m just here drinking this really good iced tea. Picky came back with his latte order and placed it next to him.

🍎 “Here’s your order-“

💲 “Oh? You wanna come see for yourself then? I’ll show you a mansion that you’ve never been to.”

This sounds like an excuse to show off his money to us.

🦷 “Oh sweet, can I see too?”

🍎 “Maggie we got work.”

🦷 “Can we see too after work?”

🍎 “Wha- ‘we’?”

🦷 “Yeah man, we should totally check it out! I’ve never been inside a mansion before!”

🍎 “I mean… it can’t be that special.”

🍎 “I’ve been in Bubba’s mansion many times, so it ain’t my first rodeo.”

💲”Alright fine, I can wait a few hours. The more the merrier.”

🦷 “Hell yeah! Mansion tour!”

🍎 “We really doing this?”

I shrugged. Got nothing else better to do.

💲 “What do you say, Bubbaphant?”

Bubba sighed and ate his scone.

💡”If you’re so eager too, I suppose.”

Simon smirked.

💲 “Hm, then it’s settled. My mansion will be the best thing you people will ever see and experience.”

🍎 “That means you gotta get back to work if you wanna go to the mansion.”

🦷 “Aw alright fine…”

For the next hour or so, we quietly waited as Picky and Maggie helped out with the customers. Simon finished his latte and was silently talking to Allister for a bit. I managed to finish my sweets platter and my iced tea. After a while, they came back around.

🦷 “We’re done! Let’s get going!”

🍎 “Sorry it took so long.”

Simon picked Allister up with one arm.

💲 “Not a problem. As long as I get to show my superiority, I can wait as long as I want.”

🍎 “Golly he’s strong.”

💡 “Well let’s get going then.”

We got up and made our way out. Bubba paid for me even though I had money, so thank you Bubba. We went out of the door, and there was a huge limo waiting at the front.

🦷 “WOAHHHH HOLY CRAP, WE GET TO RIDE IN A LIMO?!”

Simon flipped his hair and smirked.

💲 “Impressive, is it not?”

🦷 “HELL YEAH IT IS!”

Maggie jumped head first into the limo.

💡 “Hm, never really thought of these as a good method of transportation, but oh well, we all have our tastes.”

🍎 “Alrighty then. To the mansion we go!”

They both got in. I got in as well. Pretty… sparkly place here. Lot of gold items and accessories here. Allister is placed onto a seat as Simon got in.

💲”Drive us home.”

“You got it sir!”

Didn’t really plan to go to Simon’s house, but like I said, I got nothing else better to do. This’ll kill some time I suppose.
