They each have quirks based off the bigger bodies' personalities and experiences, but within the world of the cartoon and helping to teach life lessons. both one's every cartoon out there teaches, and the one's nobody teaches. Dogday resents Catnap for what he did during the hour of joy, but still can't help wanting to make sure he's okay.
Catnap always cared for Dogday, even requesting that The Prototype let him keep him alive so they could be free together.
With both of them now dead, the last of the Smiling Critters to enter their afterlife, and Catnap now aware of the truth of The Prototype, he wants to make up for what he's done and hopefully be finally happy with Dogday.
