Kissing You On A Cold Day

Summary:

Once all the rest of the animals have been checked for the night, Jimmy grabs an arm load of fire wood, as he walks through the snow to house, already anticipating the hot chocolate Tango promised would be waiting for him when he got back.

The avian opens the door, walking inside and shutting it.

He shakes out his wings quickly before going over to the fireplace, setting the wood in his arms down on the stack of it by the side, before moving to the fire. He stands there, hands held out warming them up, wings spread out behind him, trying to both dry them off and warm them up.

“Songbird~” Tango calls out to him in a sweet tone.

Jimmy pulls back his right wing, turning his head to see his husband standing there, a cup of hot chocolate in his hands.

The avian smiles, taking the cup, and sipping on the hot chocolate.

The blaze hybrid moves closer to Jimmy, resting his head on his husband's shoulder as he drinks his hot chocolate, warming himself by the fire and from Tango.

or, It's cold out and Tango help warm Jimmy up after he comes inside.

Work Text:

The first snowfall of the year has happened and Jimmy is outside right now, making sure all the animals are taken care of for the cold night.

The avian goes through, checking the cows water, making sure the water heater keeping the bucket from freezing is on and working.

The canary hybrid shivers as a cold gust of wind flies into the barn.

He’s really glad of the gloves and hat he is wearing right now, along with the thick winter coat.

He checks on the chicken next, checking their water and nesting boxes for eggs before closing the coup up.

“Meow.” he hears come softly from next to him.

He sees their barn cat, flick, sitting on top of one of the feed cans, begging for food.

Jimmy chuckles, opening the can below where the cat is, causing him to jump off and onto the ground.

The cat has been eating a lot more with winter approaching and now snow has started to fall.

He puts some food into the bowl they leave out for the barn cat and Flick jumps up, back onto the can, starting to eat his food, purring happily.

Jimmy pets the cat, scratching behind his ears before leaning down and pressing a kiss to the top of the cat’s head.

Once all the rest of the animals have been checked for the night, Jimmy grabs an arm load of fire wood, as he walks through the snow to house, already anticipating the hot chocolate Tango promised would be waiting for him when he got back.

The avian opens the door, walking inside and shutting it with his foot.

He shakes out his wings quickly before going over to the fireplace, setting the wood in his arms down on the stack of it by the side.

The winged goes back to the front door, taking off his gloves, coat, and hat, putting them away before retreating back to the fire.

Jimmy stands there, hands held out warming them up, wings spread out behind him, trying to both dry them off and warm them up.

“Songbird~” Tango calls out to him in a sweet tone, a smile evident in his voice.

Jimmy pulls back his right wing, turning his head to see his husband standing there, a cup of hot chocolate in his hands, a warm looking sweater over his chest, a smile on his face.

The avian smiles, taking the cup, and sipping on the hot chocolate.

Tango stands there, watching him for a moment before going over to the wood pile, grabbing a few pieces and putting them into the fire, his fluff tipped tail flicking behind him, slowly burning like the wood in the fireplace, but that one warm to the touch, safe to touch.

The blaze hybrid stands back up, moving closer to Jimmy, resting his head on his husband's shoulder as he drinks his hot chocolate, warming himself by the fire and from Tango.

Tango’s tail wraps around Jimmy’s leg as the blaze hybrid starts to purr, content to stand there, warming his rancher up from his side, slowly rubbing his cheek against Jimmy’s shoulder like a cat.

When Jimmy is done with his hot chocolate, Tango takes the empty mug, setting it on the mantle above the fireplace to take it away later, moving to the couch to grab one of Jimmy’s hoodies.

He gives it to his husband, a smile on his face.

Jimmy pulls the hoodie on.

Once it’s on, Tango cups Jimmy’s cheeks, “You still cold love?”

“A little.” Jimmy says, cheeks dusting pink.

Tango gently brushes a thumb over his cheek, back and forth, slowly, the purr emitting from his chest making the atmosphere even more cozy.

“Can I help warm you up?”

Jimmy nods, closing his eyes, leaning heavily into Tango’s hands, “Yes please.”

Jimmy feels a hot breath against his lips before Tango’s soft lips are on his, slowly, warmly kissing him.

The avian leans into the kiss, warmed by the crackling fire by his side, blush on his cheeks, and beloved in his arms, kissing him with all the love and fondness he has.
