Summary
Seventeen-year-old Rey Niima moves to the small mountain town of Red Hollow, West Virginia, after losing both her parents and being forced to live with her hostile stepfather, Unker. Trying to survive her junior year unnoticed, Rey becomes fast friends with Rose Tico—one of the only bright spots in her new life.
But everything changes the day she bumps into Mr. Solo, the school’s strict, intimidating, and undeniably magnetic history teacher. He is cold, unreadable, and surrounded by rumors—and yet Rey senses something else beneath the surface.
As a string of murders spreads fear through the town—each victim a teenage girl who looks eerily similar to Rey—strange things begin happening in the forests that border Red Hollow. Mr. Solo seems to know far more than he should. He watches Rey, protects her, avoids her… and is haunted by something he refuses to name.
